We walked by this restaurant several times and did not hear a peep. But when we opened the door to enter for dinner, The place was bustling and packed with people at virtually every table. We were very promptly seated. Service was attentive without being obtrusive. The food was terrific. I had a seafood chowder that was packed with chunks of seafood and the cream-based broth was delicious. My wife had a salad that was made with ingredients that were seemingly cut a few minutes ago. We shared a John dory fish special served on top of Risotto that we loved. Dessert was also great. It was rather expensive but other than the cost, I think you can't miss with this place. read more

This place was amazing! I was so glad we made reservations because we saw people getting turned away because they were fully booked. We were seated quickly and we're greeted by a very friendly staff. We had planned on changing into nice clothes before dinner but ran out of time. When I apologized to the host, she laughed and said, "You don't need to dress up in Kerry!" This made me feel even more welcome and I was able to relax and enjoy my meal. I ordered the best French wine I've ever tasted, an incredible seafood chowder and their local fish that was on their special menu of the day. My husband ordered a steak. Everything we had was wonderful and I am still dreaming about this meal a week later. Definitely our most favorite dinner of our trip. I hope I can go back one day! We really enjoyed our meal in this Michelin recommended restaurant! Service was very formal and attentive but not necessarily warm or welcoming. Most of the time, our server stood near us, just waiting. It felt weird. The food was good and the early dinner special was a great value (before 6pm or 6:30pm) at 36 euros for a 3 course dinner. You can also order from the regular menu if you prefer the regular options. I ordered the 3 course and selected the seafood chowder, which had large chunks of seafood. The broth had the right consistency with some light cream but not too creamy. There were large chunks of salmon in the chowder and they were so fresh! I don't think I've had fresh salmon before, not like this. The texture is different, in a good way, and the taste is subtle and light. For my main course, I ordered the hake, because I heard they use the daily fresh catch and expectedly, the fish tasted very fresh. The taste is subtle and light, really delicious. The only issue I had was that there was no sauce or seasoning on the fish. There was salt and pepper on the table but I think it would have been better if there was some seasoning in the fish itself or sauce in the plate. For dessert, I got the brownie which was also good. Other orders were the steak (not from the early menu) which I was told was very tender and delicious and the toffee pudding was also notably good. read more

Great dinner and great night in Dingle! We made a reservation here after seeing it on the Bib Gourmand list. The people were very friendly and polite. We arrived a bit early and had a drink at the bar while we waited. The food was outstanding. We had the salad and the chowder for appetizers. The chowder was wonderful - lots of seafood! The citrus oil adds a wonderful flavor and depth that I did not expect. The salad was interesting and flavorful. For mains, I had the scallops, which had a delightful sauce, delicious capers and celeriac puree and topped with greens. So good and very well cooked! I also tried the steak which was well cooked and came with an interesting cheese butter that melted over the steak - good! For dessert, I had the brulee - pretty good though nothing special. Overall, this place was great! It's small and intimate, not too fussy. The owners were so polite and kind. We had a lovely dinner and would definitely come back! read more

Fine dining in Dingle! Beautiful restaurant, with great service, and incredible food. We were fortunate to walk in and get a table at the Chart House without waiting. The food here all looked so good that we not only ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees, but we got a third entree for desert! Everything we had was so delicious! The chefs cooked the meat to perfection. Lamb, beef, duck, all tender and incredibly flavorful. The purees of potato and sweet potato that accompanied the meat were creamy and good. Each entree came with a plate of sautéed seasonal root vegetables. The arancini appetizer, a fried heavenly rice ball, goat cheese, mushroom inside, placed on top of delicious rich flavorful tomato sauce drizzled in truffle oil! So good. Really enjoyed this meal for the second they took our coats to the minute they brought our check. Probably could of done just two entrees! So much delicious food. I'd order three again! read more

I ordered the Rack of lamb but only got 3 sad little bones and a bunch of potatoes. I shared my dissatisfaction with the service but they just didn't care.... I went away hungry and 130 Euros poorer (my wife and I shared a bottle of wine, both had soup which was ok, and she had the Monk fish which was just ok too). A nice cosy restaurant. The decor is very small town Irish. I especially liked a hand made glass ceramic piece depicting Adam and Eve. The food was good. We got a complimentary soda bread basket. I am vegetarian and found plenty to choose from. I ordered the butternut squash soup, which was perfect for the rainy windy weather. For my main I ordered the spinach and feta pie. We were looking for a good dinner and we thought that while in dingle we had to eat some fine dining. We looked into nice restaurants in the area and found 3. The Chart House, Ashes and Out of The Blue. First of all, ashes as closed. Then with Out of the Blue, some of our family members did not like seafood, which is all that Out of the Blue served. So we settled on The Chart house. Appetizers were ok. The best appetizer- and maybe the best element of the meal- was the ducks leg. We also got the salad, mussels and the soup of the day. The soup was a chili and butternut squash and it was just meh. But for entrees I had chicken and gnocchi and it was to die for. There was Parmesan sauce and it was also a showstopper. We also got pork belly and it was a bit slimy in the outside but overall good. Another amazing dish was the fillet mignon. There was also a potato soufflé and it was also good. For dessert we had the dark chocolate tart and the banana parfait. The banana parfait was definitely the winner there. The chocolate tart was overly salty but other than that, this was an amazing experience and the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend this place. Happy Thanksgiving!!!! read more

Absolutely delicious. My husband and I started with a mushroom soup that had incredible flavor along with a light and fresh salad. For entrees I had the filet while my husband had the chicken. Both were expertly cooked. My steak was tender and a perfect temperature. I literally cleaned my plate. My husbands chicken was moist and buttery, not something easy to do. I'm afraid I must disagree with some of the reviews here. While the food is good, it didn't blow me away and I have eaten better in Dingle. 1. Clear glass plates for both courses. It just cheapened the experience. I wonder is it because we had the Early Bird menu? 2. There isn't really anything holding the decor together so it left me feeling like it's just been building up rather than well thought out. 3. Dishes could have been presented better. 4. This little gem is just off the main drag of town, but you probably passed it on the way in but didn't even notice it. The food was excellent: Mussels for the app were good, but the lamb was excellent. I won't harp on the price, which was a little steep, but in my opinion it was well worth it. The restaurant is charming and we had wonderful service. The chowder was excellent and salad was delicious and very fresh. Unfortunately the main courses were average at best. I had the salmon and the flavors were forgettable. My husband and son had the Irish chicken, which was extremely dry, so much so that they didn't finish the meal. We also ordered three desserts a fruit tart, the brownie, and ice cream. The desserts were the type you would find at any chain restaurant, not at a higher end place like Chart House. I like giving five stars but I find it hard to give them very often and stay objective and real at the same time. This was no problem! Fresh seafood in a beautiful (and romantic) setting. The service was impecible - even if I can't spell the word correctly. Eating in Ireland is not cheap. Most dinner meals have been running us around 50 euro or more (+/- $80) for two and this one ran closer to 90 ($150) but was worth every penney. Would have been cheaper except I had a shot of Midleton very rare Irish whiskey and that set us back 10 ($16). Again, well worth it. If you are in Dingle and want a very nice dining experience, this is the place. Whatever you do - stay away from Harrington's Fish and Chips across the street. That place sucked and was the only bad meal we had in Ireland - and it still cost us over $50 to eat dinner there! The Chart House - that's the place. read more

Our dinner at the Chart House Restaurant was beyond expectation. Out of all of the dinners that we enjoyed in the country of Ireland, this rated at the top. We were on a tour and several in our group raved at the quality of the food and the service. The food was fresh and perfectly prepared. We had such wonderful, personal service that we felt like special guests. Thank you to Jim McCarthy, his chef, kitchen staff, and wait help for a most memorable dinner in Dingle. The steak was superb, the mussels were ok and the people were very nice. The check was in a little dictionary I found that very pleasant. The appearance of the restaurant is very simple and nice looking. I really appreciated the smiles and kindness of the staff. We had a reservation for 8 and had to wait till about 8:20/8:30 but the people more than made up for it with the great food. I would definitely recommend it and would go back. read more
