House cured salmon and cod in nori seaweed
    john h.

We made online reservations on a Monday night, 4:00 was the only available time. They put the specials board on an empty chair at your table so that you can order. We ordered the following: Starters *House cured salmon and cod in nori seaweed - excellent, sushi quality, the cod was nice and salty, portion wasn't the largest *Warm smoked mackerel with horseradish and dill dressing - really tasty and a nice portion *Flash pan squid with chiles and coriander- outstanding with a kick Mains *Pan fried black sole on the bone, dill, and toasted almond butter-maybe the star of the show, a large portion, fall of the bone and the toasted almond butter was awesome *OOTB fish selection; John Dory, sole and halibut fillets served with a lobster sauce - the fish was great, but the lobster sauce had zero flavor *Dingle bay lobster from the tank- we got the last one, it was excellent The beer and wine were excellent. The service was great. The interior had a tile floor with a sort of Mexican fishing village theme. Reasonably priced for top level fresh seafood. Highly recommend.

Well ahead of our travels to Dingle, I booked Michelin Star'd Out of the Blue. Only serving fresh seafood, it was the best meal of our trip, and every bit deserving of its star status. The front is a basic and unassuming, but neat, blue building. Inside remains simple, but quality, with light wood, soft light, and sea themed decor. As the menu changes so frequently, a dish can run out that evening, it is handwritten on a chalkboard that is brought to the table. It was very difficult to choose, the entire menu was well done. The brown bread was also the best of the trip, theirs had more seeds and the right balance of dense. Be careful to not fill up on bread as you will not want to miss any of the rest of the meal. Since the menu changes so frequently, describing what we ordered is not helpful. Both dishes were incredible, fresh, cooked perfectly, and with interesting and well matched ingredients. We ate every possible bite. We managed to save room and share a dessert, worth every calorie. I'm surprised to see any negative reviews. In my option, for the quality of the meal, the prices were completely reasonable. If you are in Dingle (which if you go to Ireland you absolutely should as the town deserves a visit), make reservations!

We had a wonderful dinner experience here last night. Our waitress was kind and attentive and the seafood was outstanding! Each meal was perfectly cooked and delicious. It was a great choice for dinner to eat here while we were in Dingle on our trip!

Over the past 5 weeks we have spent time in London, Scotland and Ireland. This is hands down THE BEST meal we have had on this adventure. Reservations are hard to come by but we were lucky to get a reservation on Sunday at 2pm. If you know you'll be in Dingle make your reservations asap. Service was good, not rushed. Every bite was soooo good!

A fish only restaurant that serves only the fresh catch of the day! What they catch that morning, goes on the menu that night. Some of the best seafood we have ever had! The monkfish was Devine! My potato crusted haddock was sublime! I would come here every night if I could! If you love seafood, it's a must! Resy recommended! Gets busy! We also had fantastic service! Great place!!

We considered ourselves lucky to get dinner reservations at a Michelin star seafood place in Dingle. We didn't realize just how popular it was until our new friends told us that people were getting turned away with a reservation and they were quite hard to get. We were learning that generally, in Ireland, most people eat a later breakfast (more like a brunch), a light lunch, and a late dinner between 7-9pm. Our reservations were at 8, which meant the downside to that time was that the inside of the restaurant doesn't have any windows to see the sunset. This may be an unpopular opinion, but the food, service and location didn't seem worth the price attached to the "Michelin star" reputation. Everything was perfectly fine, but didn't feel special and my husband and I both agreed that our time and money would have been enjoyed just as much at a restaurant that was half the price.

Nice more local feeling restaurant that serves what is available on a given day. We had John Dory and grilled Hake that were both exceptional. Fresh and so well prepared. Good service, atmosphere and overall great choice, highly recommend.

Delicious breads, and Dingle Gin and tonic.

In the very early stages of planning our trip to Ireland, we knew that we wanted to spend some time in Dingle. We did a LOT of research into B&Bs, sightseeing, but most of all...the food. Dingle has some of the best food we've eaten in Ireland. In our research, we found this Michelin recommended seafood restaurant called Out of the Blue. We checked out the website and were absolutely thrilled to find out that their menu changes daily based on what is fresh caught. It is seafood ONLY. No steaks. No chicken. No shepherd's pie. Just seafood. When you do a thing well, you don't have to do anything else...and let me tell you...they do seafood better than just about anyone else. We made reservations a couple weeks in advance, and were lucky to get in. If you're planning a trip, make sure to book in advance! We arrived and were seated quickly. The restaurant is small, but cozy, clean, and it smells amazing. It was also packed! I have to say I love seeing smaller businesses (translation: not chains) doing so well, particularly with how the last couple of years has been. We ordered 2 gin and tonics with Dingle gin: if you've never tried this gin before, you absolutely should. Its my new favorite gin, and I bought a bottle to bring back to Vegas with me. For food we ordered: The fresh oysters Home Cured and smoked salmon with citrus dressing pan seared scallops pan fried plaice in saffron sauce pan fried brill with langoustine sauce. Everything was exquisite. Perfectly prepared, seasoned beautifully, generous portions. I can't rave about the food enough. This was legitimately one of the best meals we ate the entire time we were in Ireland. Service was friendly, and prompt. I very much recommend that when you are in Dingle, take some time to enjoy an amazing meal with Out of the Blue. You won't be disappointed.

This place was Out of This World! We ended up here after our initial dinner plans fell apart. I was so happy for the series of events that landed us here. You will not find fresher fare at an incredibly reasonable price with incredibly attentive service! We had a large table and our server was more than happy to walk us through the offerings for the evening. Everyone loved every dish we ordered (mussels, potato crusted pollack, monk fish tail, sea bass, SCALLOPS!). I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but everything we tasted, including dessert, was impeccable. If you're looking for the freshest seafood in County Kerry, look no further. Could not recommend more!

When planning our trip to Ireland, we knew we wanted to enjoy some great seafood. When researching the best restaurants, Out of the Blue came up in our searches numerous times so we knew we had to give them a try. We heard reservations were a must for this popular spot so we booked an early dinner for one of our nights in Dingle. This little hole in the wall is small so it was perfect for our small group of four people. The restaurant is right off of the water so it felt like a little fish shack on the waters edge. The menu comes out on a chalk written chalkboard because the menu changes daily according to what is fresh. Everything sounded so good so it was difficult to pick just one. Everyone in my group chose something different. On a side note, OOTB did great at accommodating a gluten and other dietary restrictions. Overall this was one of our favorite dining experiences while visiting Ireland. The food and service were excellent. Even better was the price. We were pleasantly surprised that this dining experience didn't break the bank. Be sure to add Out of the Blue to your experiences while visiting Ireland.

If you can manage to get a reservation, this place is absolutely worth it. My favorite bite of Ireland was by far their seafood chowder. The seafood options here were diverse and all tasty. Ambiance was intimate yet social. Everything tasted fresh from the Atlantic Ocean.

I'm maybe not a total foodie, but I have eaten in many excellent restaurants and this is among them. All the food we were served seemed to be local and freshly prepared. She sat us and told us the soup was Tomato bisque and I was very excited because it's one of my favorites and I'm a vegetarian (not vegan). There was an early special and you could choose 2 or 3 options. I chose the soup and a fish dish. It did take quite a while for a server to show up and take our order. It then took a long time to get our drinks and it wasn't very busy at that point. The soup was delivered and it was lamb stew. I understand mistakes can happen. The server said I could choose something else on the menu and I didn't see anything that was vegetarian or that I liked. I said the fish alone would be fine. I did not like it at all.
