I've been a member of this Planet Fitness for a few years now, and I continue to be impressed every time I visit. The staff and management truly make this gym stand out. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and always willing to answer questions or help with anything you need. You can tell they genuinely care about creating a positive environment for their members. One thing I especially appreciate is how incredibly clean the facility is. The equipment is well maintained, the locker rooms are spotless, and the entire gym is consistently organized and fresh. I've been a member at the Round Rock location for over three years and while there was a short period where they got a manager named Leticia who was incredibly opposite of any of their other managers. When I had a complaint about a change she made she told me "this is my gym now" and if I didn't like it there were other gyms! She was replaced in less than two months and things are back to being great. The staff is friendly and the club is clean and I'm happy to call it home again. It seemed like I had hit a wall with my progress so I decided to work with their new trainer Joshua. He completely changed my routines and really started to focus on my form and it's really making a difference. I'm getting sore muscles that I didn't know I had! The manager that's there now is Corey. I've been going to this location for a few months now and really enjoyed it. The workers mostly seem cool and welcoming but met this new manager named Leticia and she's just aweful and unapologetically rude. I went to the front desk to ask for a bar-pad. She then stated that I needed to trade in something (as expected). All I had with me was my phone, hat and a hand sanitizer so I asked if I could trade in that and she rudely gave me attitude saying I needed aomethibf more substantial like my phone, earplug or hat and I really needed all of those for my workout. I was being real polite too and she just gave me so much attitude and disgust. I was appalled even more when I found out she was a manager. Not a good role model or face for Planet Fitness. The new general manager Leticia is very rude and very dismissive. I requested a bar back and was asked for collateral. When I asked more questions about it because I hadn't heard about this from other locations she became rude and disrespectful. I told her all I had was my medical device (inhaler) she told me if I didn't like it I didn't have to use it. Be warned that they do not follow their cancellation policies. went in and cancelled in person, had a letter and they said I was cancelled. I have a receipt that shows when I cancelled, but I kept getting charged. Went in multiple times and called and they kept saying I was cancelled. I asked about refunding the $100+ fees and they basically laughed and said yeah we don't do refunds. read more

It's not worth the money at all. The employees are rude and half of their machines aren't even turned on. They don't even clean their equipment well, it's lazy. They won't allow you to cancel a membership unless you pay the rest which is fine, but they won't even turn off the auto renewal for it. You have to go in there the LAST DAY of your subscription if you want to cancel it without spending a bunch of money to do so. Not to mention how they won't allow you to cancel over the phone or anything, you HAVE to come in to the one you initially made a contract with. They also do not care at all if women get creeped on. They care much more about money and trapping you in a contract than they do about a woman's safety and comfort. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. Update: In response to the business manager's comment, I have brought things up. My friends have brought things up. No one has cared and no one has done anything to make it better. The one at this location is very clean and large enough for it's members to not have to hog the machines. The drive to this Round Rock, Texas location is a longer distance for me, but its worth it. The other locations have construction going on to their limited restrooms (some don't have workable restrooms at all). So while I still have membership with Planet Fitness, this will be my preferred location. read more

The place has all the basics and the staff is always helpful. I give it a three because it's always packed with high school students who don't wipe down machines and occupy machines Just standing around talking. Three or four times now I've not been able to use a machine because they will work out in groups of four or five and take over the entire machine for an hour. The gym only carries two of the same machine for most machines and have a few where they only carry one. They also only have four squat racks which is next to impossible to get during peak hours. There are a lot of cardio machines. I come here during off peak and it's frustrating. The place just isn't big enough for the number of people, they need a bigger space and more machines. Its hard to get any type of weight/strength training workout done whether it's off peak or not. read more

Warning! THEFT is rampant. I've been a member for over 10 years... I've always had a good experience until yesterday. I didn't have a lock on the locker I was using (YES there are signs, YES the club isn't responsible, YES it was my fault) and someone helped themself to my bag/purse/money in the women's locker room. I'm sure there were 2 people working together to sift through my bag while I was working out to take what they wanted. EVEN WORSE.... The person was probably in the stall doing it while I was looking around, calling the police and talking to the front desk as my bag magically then appeared in the dressing room empty of cash. (I hope they get the day they deserve). This is happening multiple times lately per the staff. I feel like that needs to spark action on managements part to update signage regarding securing your belongings. My lesson has been learned. The front desk guy was nice, helpful and notably overwhelmed due to short staffing. The gym is busy this time of Year. The person stole enough cash to pay for several months of membership from my wallet and I'm sure this will not be their last strike since they have a system going. Be warned Gym goers... get a good lock or don't take anything in. read more

I love this location. Especially the employee Pablo. My son has special needs and has extremely high anxiety. It took us a month walking to the front door to then go back to the car. To even enter the gym was our 1st challenge. . I went in and talked to Pablo to give him a little info that we would try hard this time to walk in He took the initiative and really helped make my son feel comfortable. The facility is clean and it's typically not very busy. My one issue are the stability balls. They're all underinflated so doing the core work I like to do is a bit challenging. I asked the front desk person if she would mention it to a manager, but a week later, they're still the same. Today, one of their staff members was cleaning some mats and the stability balls so I asked him. He told me he didn't know of a way to inflate them (bizarre answer). I explained to him that there's a forked prong that allows you to take out the plug and it's about a 3 minute job with a foot pump. I asked him if he wouldn't mind if I did it (I had a foot pump in my car), but he said he would have to ask management (basically leaving me with the impression that he had no interest in doing it). Addendum: I spoke with the manager today, gave him one of the prongs and a foot pump, and with the assistance of one of the desk members, we pumped up the big stability ball (5 minute job) so my problem is solved. I very much appreciate him addressing the problem. I updated the review to a 5 star. read more

Worst customer service ever, especially getting billing issues resolved. I have been trying to contact them for over a month, but there is only the 888 phone number. You are told your wait is less than 10 minutes. One hour later, same recording says less than 10 minutes. You can request a call back, but you never get one. Went to the Round Rock center and asked for the contact number of the manager and was given the same 888 number. Just completely ridiculous and frustrating. Wish I had never joined. Just received an update from someone supposedly from Customer Service. Their response is that I should go into the Round Rock location and ask the Manager there to resolve the matter. Ok so I'm a little confused. I made this account anon so if management wants to contact me they can. I was there last night dec 16, and dec 14 at 10pm I'm gonna be one of those people, and I get there are still people who believe this pandemic is a joke. But for the people who have families, or just care about others well being in general this is for you. Don't come here. I would say about 80% of people are wearing masks. Granted the majority of those not wearing masks are stationary on the treadmill or cardio machine. But you would think they would still have to wear masks as the gym isn't ventilated with windows. But once you go towards the free weights and squat racks you always have at least 3 people walking back and forth no mask while the majority of everyone else is wearing theirs. Now it says you have to wear one to come in, so I'm assuming they just take it off cause the front desk is on the opposite side of the free weights. Staff doesn't pay much attention to those not wearing them, and last night paper towel wasn't refilled in 3 stations. The pictures you see of the staff cleaning are fake. Never seen them do it when I'm there. They just stay at the front desk talking. Members clean their own machines which I've seen everyone do. You really do get what you pay for here. I'm pretty sure I saw another review of this same thing a couple of days ago but it got removed??? Hmm. read more

Love the 30 minute circuit training and the gym as a whole .... recent incident occurred here, that IS VERY WORRISOME . Manager was informed of the incident, that I witnessed. End of story, right? I just cancelled my membership, but, NOT because I didn't like PF. I loved it, in fact, but, there is no Kids Club. I was going in at 4 to workout & be back home by 6:15 to get my kids ready for school. But, then by 1:00, I was extremely exhausted. I needed something kid-friendly so I could sleep more, still workout and be able to function. So, no kids club is the only reason for deducting a star. Otherwise, the gym is very clean, I LOVE the private dressing rooms & the hydro-massager...Man! Am I going to miss that damned thing! And, the employees are super friendly. read more

There is a man that is here in the mornings, not to work out but simply walk around. He appears to be suffering from mental health issues. My main concern is for the safety of the female guests. He takes pictures of women while they workout and shouts out random derogatory comments in an aggressive manner. The manager has been made aware of this individual but no action has been taken. Maybe the manager is not equipped to handle these types of situations but that is no excuse. Looks like we will be paying for a membership that will go unused. This is for the weekend of Aug 26th 2017. In general, I love the staff there, but the surprise closures are kinda bugging me for a 24/7 club. Shutting down for weather in Round Rock for the entire weekend is ridiculous. This is a pure management money grab to save costs with a lame weather excuse. We are not in Houston or Rockport or Corpus Christi. The most we ever get in Round Rock is rain and usually not all that much. If Dominoes is delivering, you should be open. If the Goodwill next door is open, you should be open. You literally need 1 employee present each shift to run this place. Just started working out here. I recently had weight loss surgery and needed a place I could work off all of my extra pounds and their judgement free zone seems to be a perfect fit for me. I started by signing up for the design your own fitness class with Koko the personal trainer. She took the time to meet with me and another gentleman, show us the ropes, provide us with a routine that would meet our goals and then made sure we left with the knowledge we needed. Like I said, I'm new so I haven't dug into everything yet but so far I've really enjoyed working out there. No one seems to care about the fat guy in the room, everyone seems to be interested in just doing their own thing which I appreciate being so new and a little self conscious. Anyway, if you're looking for a place to work out that's easy going, especially if you're new to the fitness thing, Planet Fitness is a good place to start as far as I can tell! read more

Run, fat boy, RUN!!!! So the new Planet Fitness just opened up at the corner of Hwy 79 and Mays in Round Rock. This is an old HEB that has been split into a couple of different places and re-purposed. We've all done the tour of a gym. We've all heard horror stories of the Orwellian contracts. I'm happy to report that I don't think that Planet Fitness fits that stereotype. I walked in and was greeted promptly and courteously by Victor. Walked me around and just showed the place to me while we chatted. At no time did he try to pressure me into a membership. In fact, when I went to walk out without buying a membership he just politely said "see ya'." Well, if you aren't going to make me feel bad about being fat how can I compare you to other gyms?!?! You know that criticizing self-esteem is how you pressure people into contracts, don't you? I signed up, I feel like I got a fair deal, and I liked the fact that I was given time to read the contract. (The salesman giveth, but the small print taketh away...) I liked the fact that they had two memberships: $10/month, no contract, this club only. $20/month, 12 month contract, any club, you can bring a guest, you can use the tanning booths, you can use the massage chairs. If you decide to quit before the 12 months it is a $58 buy-out. Either way they do a once per year membership fee of $39. Hmm, this seems awfully reasonable. I'm a sucker for massage chairs, and I really want to get that orange glow like John Boehner so that when we debate everyone can adjust the color on their TV to make us not look like oompah-loompahs.... So I joined. And I like it. And I don't feel judged. Cool. read more

Everyone wants to join a gym, but who ever wants to actually go? This place eliminated any reason I have for not going. There motto is "No Critics." Those of who need to go the gym appreciate that sentiment, thank you. The place is bigger than I thought. There is a very large section of cardio machines which seem to be a favorite of many folks. Of course they have also included free weights as well as machines for your workout. My favorite are however, is the Express Workout. This section includes stepping platforms and a variety of machines. Each spot is numbered from one through twenty. There is a red/green traffic light on the wall. While the light is green, you begin your workout at spot number one. It will turn red for several seconds as you move into position at spot two. Following this pattern, you are rewarded with a full body workout in 30 minutes. The place is clean and the people are friendly. It is set up well so that anyone on a cardio machine can see any of a number of tv programs being shown. These televisions also indicate a number by which you can tune in to listen to any given show. Joining a gym feels good, but having cause to return to the gym on a daily basis and complete a satisfying workout is great. read more

Due to my job and schedule I go to different Planet Locations in Austin often. I can say in my experience this is most well run location. Always someone at the front desk ready to help. Super clean. I've been a member of PF for a few years now and have been to a few locations. Like all of the PF locations, this one has everything you need to work out--free weights, treadmill, elliptical, stair stepper, mats, workout balls, benches, TV's, tanning--you name it. It's very clean and the equipment looks to be in pretty good shape. Like most, if not all, PF's, they don't have very heavy dumbbells, which may discourage big body builders. I don't mind since I'm not looking to bulk up like a gorilla. Planet Fitness is awesome. For $10 a month ($20 w/ unlimited tanning), you really can't go wrong. They don't have classes (though this location has intro classes), but they have all the equipment you need. They discourage "Lunks", or people who grunt, drop weights, etc. If you want to get in shape and don't want the pressure of a bunch of skinnies and hulks around you, this is the place to go. read more

I just come here for the free pizza and tootsie rolls!!! Kidding, people have this misconception that this gym is for people who don't really work out or are in horrible shape only. I assure you this is not the case. This gym has everything you need and is very very clean. Everyone is good about wiping down the station they just finished at. There are "meat heads" here but everyone shows each other respect. Not too many people flexing in the mirror and taking selfies, because we all know, if you didn't post it, it didn't happen. I pay $20 a month and can go to any location AND bring a guest, I also get half price drinks. It is never too crowded, even at 5pm on a weekday. Staff is friendly and helpful.
