My Foothill Bank experience -- what happened and what I'm doing next…read moreI want to share a factual summary of my experience so community members can make informed choices: - In September I switched to Foothill Bank after a scam on my Chase account that cost me $13,000. - I transferred funds to a crypto account for investment. Foothill reversed the transfer and later sent a letter stating my account would be closed under their terms. - Based on that notice I stopped using the account and canceled transactions. On 11/28 I paid $82.76 and initiated an ACH payment as requested. - Despite this, I continued to receive calls and texts from bank staff. I later found an overdraft/negative balance posted after the account closure notice. I dispute those charges and have asked for a full written accounting and reversal of improper fees. - I have requested that all communications be by mail only and that no further transactions be processed. If you're considering a bank change or dealing with unexpected fees or account closures, please: - Keep copies of all letters, emails, and payment receipts. - Ask for written confirmation of any account status changes. - Consider filing a complaint with state or federal banking regulators if you cannot resolve the issue with the bank. - Explore alternative, regulated financial service providers if you want different options for investing or moving funds. I'm sharing this to protect others and to push for accountability. Allow me to explain how someone can be "crazy" about their accountant (as I am) to the point where I'd be willing to donate a kidney or "take a bullet" for him. (Yes, he's THAT TERRIFIC a person!) I won't be too "specific," but what happened was that a relative of mine was trying to "mess me over, financially," regarding a probated estate. I'm sure that many of you Ladies and Gentlemen reading my words have either had an experience similar to mine, or know of someone who has. It seems that the fastest and best way to totally dissolve a family nowadays, is to introduce an INHERITANCE into the mix. That's what was happening to me, with my wife's brother, who was also the Executor of their parents' estate (1996). I contacted Tom and said, "Please do a 'Forensic Audit' of all the paperwork that we have received from 'The Jerk,' and let us know if some skullduggery is afoot." (He likes that kind of talk, for some reason.) Anyway, he went to work personally, and found a descrepancy totalling $89,000, caused by a very crooked Probate Attorney (in Iowa) who was using the estate money to insert cocaine up his nasal passages. Even "The Jerk" Executor didn't know what was going on, and after all was said and done (in an Iowa courtroom), both "The Jerk" Executor and the Crooked Attorney had to pay us several thousand dollars; many times the reasonable fees Mr. Shannon charged for the in-depth audit of the papers that were presented to the Probate Court, as summarized by Mr. Shannon. Tom Shannon has more personal integrity and honesty in his pinky finger, than all the crooks in Washington DC, combined. Never in my 62 years of living, have I met or known anyone whom I could trust MORE, with highly sensitive and secret financial information. I must advise you that Tom Shannon is not accepting new clients at this time, if ALL they want done is income tax reporting/filing. In recent years the office seems to be staffed solely with kids who are poorly trained and unprepared to assist folks with insurance. The office dropped my policy erroneously thinking it was my Brother's policy. Then they dropped my father's policy with no explanation, apology or effort to reinstate. We have been in to the office twice in an attempt to clear up these issues but it was to no avail. We all left the office out of frustration. I also cancelled my auto policy at the beginning of November of this year and they said they would cancel it. I just received a email notification this month indicating that it was due. I would strongly advise saving yourself a headache and steering clear of this office.
