I simply asked about the possibility of an early check-in after a long drive, and the way Tammy, the manager, responded was shockingly unprofessional. It wasn't just a "no" -- it was the tone, the attitude, and the complete lack of basic courtesy. There was zero effort to be polite or accommodating, which is the bare minimum you expect from someone in hospitality, especially a manager. What stood out the most is that this wasn't a busy or chaotic situation, it was a straightforward guest request that could have been handled in a respectful way. Instead, it felt like I was being talked down to for even asking. When someone in a management role behaves like this, it reflects on the entire hotel. If this is the standard being set at the top, that's a serious problem. I hope ownership or corporate takes a closer look at how guests are being treated here, because one interaction like this can completely ruin what should be a simple stay.

Mine was perfect because they had my egg whites. I like an all veggie omelet. It was very filling. Our room was very clean. We were located on the 7th floor. There is a $10.00 charge for parking. So be prepared to give your tag number for ticketing and towing reasons. I would stay here again if needed. We had a power outage and this hotel was the only one available. Bed was comfy and as much as I didn't like the power outage . I still enjoyed my visit here and would not hesitate to return.

Somehow my bed felt more like a full than a queen bed. While the suite was nice overall, here is what I thought made this reservation not live up to the value you'd expect at a Residence Inn: 1) my mattress was bit more plushy than my colleague's and I had a back discomfort after sleeping on it two nights 2) sofa and the loveseat are in poor condition and you sink pretty low when you sit on them. They need to be replaced ASAP 3) as with my prior stays at this property, their breakfast sucks 4) front desk staff was a bit stiff when acknowledging my platinum elite member status. As their king beds are firmer in single room suites and their location is convenience, I will most likely stay here again.

Silly me didn't read the reviews for the other hotel (Comfort Inn Towson) and when I tell you it was horrible!! So bad that I demanded a refund. But I still needed a hotel for the weekend. I called Holiday Inn Express HV and spoke to Hannah. I explained the circumstances and asked if she could help. She said she would speak to Hassan, the manager, and to call her back in 15 minutes. I waited in the gross lobby at the other hotel, longest 15 minutes of my life. When I called Hannah back, she told me they had a room for me at the same rate as Comfort Inn + $20. We did not try nor need any amenities. We just wanted a good nights sleep. For two nights we suffered!!! I'm in a wheelchair and the bed was lower than the wheelchair. No box spring. Just a worn out mattress where you slept on bed coils!! I think they got the mattress while dumpster diving at red roof!!! After the first night, I notified the front desk that my mattress was horrible. The person at the front desk said she'd look into it. When we returned late that evening.... NOTHING!! This has to be the worst Red Roof I've ever stayed at, and I've stayed in many. They are normally clean and decently appointed. No, they're not the Hilton, Hyatt, Ritz, Mandarin or Four Seasons by a wide berth, but they get the job done. I had a meeting on Wednesday morning and rather than driving 1.5 hours in uncertain traffic, I decided to spend the night in the area and I picked this place since I was told Parkville hotels were sketchy. From a logistics standpoint it made sense since my meeting was only about 15 minutes away from this property. Wow, is all I can say. People were sitting in lawn chairs outside of the rooms like you were in the Mississippi Delta or some place. All that was missing was a fishing pole and a river or pond. It was kind of disturbing. I saw toothlessness, drug tracks on people's arms and some other stuff I won't even mention. And that was all within the first 15 minutes of check-in. The room? After the front desk clerk gave me a room with no fridge and microwave the first time....then a key to the wrong room the second time....and then a key that didn't work the the third time (right room this time, finally), I was a wee bit annoyed. Walked into the room and it's a fly fest. One or two on such a hot day with a open door as I move my stuff inside I can understand, but there was at least a dozen flies in that room. You'd have sworn that was a dead body in there somewhere. Luckily there was not. I had a can of Microban spray that I carry in my car that came in handy to spray the entire room down. The front dresser had a drawer that had fallen off and was resting against the wall. I guess the engineer decided it wasn't worth replacing. Same with the air conditioning unit. The unit's cover had completely fallen off exposing all the inhaled black dust and yuck inside. I've seen units with the facade partially loose but not one that had completely become detached. The vent on the bathroom wall was hanging by a wire, which I had to push back in. Mold on the ceiling. The tub had all sorts of hard water stains and chips on the porcelain. It reminded me of an hourly motel rather than one of the same Red Roof properties that had served me well over the years. Most of the stuff I didn't even bother taking pics of. Use your imagination and stay away from this particular location.

Not clean and smelled of stale smoke despite they say no smoking. Definitely an ingrained smoke smell that happened over time. I asked about this and they said people are not doing what they are supposed to and smoke anyway and that all rooms were like this. How they can improve is not allow smoking and have the proper smoke detectors that detect cigarette smoke to help enforce this. Also I couldn't find another hotel with rooms but got lucky that a friend let me stay in their camper at the event or I was going to have to sleep in my truck.

The last week of my stay I noticed green mold (you can see from the pictures) on the carpet under the bed, and on the dust cover of the bed. There is also black mold on the air conditioner. I alerted the front desk and simply asked to change rooms due to the mold because it takes 2 weeks for mold to be visible so it has been there almost my entire stay and my pets and I have been breathing it in. I had been experiencing symptoms of mold exposure such as congestion and itchiness that was abnormal for me. They informed me they were fully booked up and could not change my room. I asked if there was anything else they could do for me to compensate for being exposed to mold and was told there would be a general manager and a maintenance man to come in about an hour. However, an hour later only the maintenance man came and told me it was not mold and quickly cleaned everything up. I asked if the manager was going to speak with me and he ignored me and just kept saying it wasn't mold. The maintenance man also informed me that my windows had been cracked. This was extremely alarming because I did not at any point open the windows myself. The only time they could have been opened is when I removed my pets to have the room cleaned. They accused me multiple times of leaving the windows open, but it would've made no sense for me to do that for many reasons. I am a single woman at a ground floor apartment so it would not be safe, and more importantly my cat and dog are in there without me while I am at work and temperatures were in the ninety's daily. My cat is also an escape artist and the window screen had a hole in it already . At this point my mother had to get involved because I could not get an audience with the manager and over the phone, she was told over and over that mold is only black and not green. This is obviously un true. When we did not accept that as an answer the manager became hostile towards us and absolutely refused a refund or any kind of compensation for there being mold in my room. I literally have never written a complaint like this for any business but this is a health concern and the general manager gas-lit me and was hostile towards my family and I.

Parking is very limited. I have a handicapped plate and there are only 3 HP spaces. I never got one. Had to park far away in a restaurant parking lot. Road noise is very noticeable. The AC/ heat sounded like a jet engine. Enough said. Probably better hotels in the area so I would look elsewhere.
