It always saddens me to give a one star review - it means that the most basic of customer expectations just aren't being met. You face a two - three floor walk up with bags just to access your room. Tractor-trailer sized containers blocked most of the parking, reducing spaces and making it difficult to navigate. Complementary shampoo bottles on the bathroom counter had been partially used by previous guests and put out again by maid service. Smoking odors were poorly covered up by anti-smoke cleaning agents. Our room's vertical blinds were missing most of the slats, so the room had no privacy. A phone call to the desk didn't yield a new room, but an offer to "fix it in the morning". Since the weather was inclement and we were leaving in the morning, we put a sheet over the window and toughed it through the night. The place was chosen for us by our hosts, and a block of rooms was reserved for all of their convention guests. We have advised them of the deficiencies, and in the future will make our own arrangements. read more

Thankfully my experience wasn't as bad as the reviews I just read below. Perhaps they finally did some work? We stayed just one night for a nearby wedding. The staff was friendly and even had a shuttle to and from the wedding venue which was nice. The rooms are spacious and affordable. The air quality isn't the greatest, I'm guessing because pets are allowed, but they seemed clean otherwise. All rooms are suites from what I understand (ours had a kitchenette and living/sitting area plus large bathroom), and I do like the layout - it feels more home-y than like a motel. That being said, some people have clearly made this hotel home. We encountered some interesting characters on property and also found it hard to sleep as another resident pet barked for hours into the early morning. When someone in our party complained, the front desk told her it was a nurse guest working an overnight shift who just left her dog alone in the room. Nice. One huge complaint - we called for extra pillows - each bed had two very thin pillows plus a throw pillow. The man told us extra pillows were not available and to use what was in our closet - which was one pillow when there were 2 beds and 4 people in the room (not to mention the room could sleep 6 with the pull out sofa!) Breakfast was your typical continental hotel breakfast. No need to complain as it was the typical fare. Overall, I wouldn't vacation here, but it served our purposes OK for a one night visit. read more

I am not sure why it didn't cross my mind to read the reviews of this hotel on yelp before booking a room. I'm glad I didn't because I really enjoyed it and prob would never have gone if I read these reviews first. Maybe they updated recently?? The scoop and Pros: We paid $99 + tax for a room on the first floor with 2 queen sized beds, a full sized pull out couch/bed, breakfast bar/counter w/chairs, a full kitchen, huge flat screen tv w/cable and sitting area, fireplace (not sure if this was just for show) wi-fi, bathroom w/shower and tub, 3 large closets and a dressing area with a full length mirror and mirror behind the sink area. Basically a studio apartment. It was clean, super comfy, had mostly w2w carpeting (clean)except for kitchen/bathroom areas that had a new linoleum, had hot water and good water pressure and was spacious enough for 3 adults, one teenager and an infant to hang-out and get decked out for faeriecon (some serious make-up and costume prep!). More scoop: The place is set up like apartment buildings, not a tower or hotel-like. There are 11+ small buildings split up into maybe 6 suites each. The ones on the upper floors had stairs to access them. I didn't see an elevator, but maybe there was one. They accept pet guests (with their humans). Cons: There was a mouse in the kitchen (should've brought our cat!) and they were not phased when we called to inform them, although they did offer to move us to another room which was nice- we declined, we just put all of our food in the fridge or cabinets. The reviews from my family were that the free breakfast wasn't great. It was sweet sausage in gravy, corn flakes, and oj. I can't remember what else there was. I cooked my own meal in our room and they brought me back some juice. I wish we had planned to stay longer. It was like having our own little apartment. We would definitely come back to this place if we had a reason to be in the area. They said there is an outside pool, but of course in Nov it was closed. Neat place. My boyfriend and I stayed here a year ago, but we do bring up that night ever now and again. I got us a room off of Expedia for $90. We were both pleasantly surprised at how *big* it was. Full kitchen, full bath, and a spacious room/living room, and it was clean. I thought the bed was kind of uncomfortable but whatever. Staff was pleasant, and the other people staying were characters. We would stay here again, so that's saying something. read more

This place is horrendous! It is extremely dirty and don't expect to eat anything fresh at the breakfast. Our room had feces floating in a clogged toilet when we arrived. The sheets and towels had stains. Cigarette burns in the flooring, carpeting, toilet seats and yes the bath tub itself. The kitchen was filthy, walls had hand prints and dirt all over the poorly painted walls. We checked in very late and had no choice but to sleep there as we had no time to find another hotel. We went to the breakfast and it was terrible. Half the machines didn't work, they didn't even have water to drink. We ended up leaving and eating at the Iron Rooster and finding another cleaner hotel for the next night. Avoid this place!!! read more

The photos on their website are deceptive. The hotel looks like a rundown apartment complex on the outside and inside. Stood at the front desk for 10 minutes before anyone came up to help us. The room they gave us was filthy and disgusting, reeking of smoke and urine as soon as we walked in. Stains on the carpet, filthy bathtub, broken doors on the fireplace. Asked to be moved to a different room and we were told we'd be called right back. After 20 minutes of waiting, we went to the front desk, turned in the key and checked out. Taking our business elsewhere. Residence Inn turned out to be 500x better. read more

This is a shit hole. I'm very upset my travel coordinator booked me here. It's 10 miles from where I'm working and there were choices closer. This is the first hotel I've stayed in where I honestly had a fear of being assaulted on the way to my room from the car. Do not stay here under any circumstances. We were pleased with our room in this former Residence Inn. We were there for 6 nights. Not the newest hotel in the world, but large, large rooms and comfortable furnishings. The mattress was firm at the ends, but a bit saggy in the middle, where everyone (including us) sits, and as a result we didn't sleep as well as we might. If the mattress doesn't matter a whole lot, then this is a great place to stay. We made 2 maintenance requests (burnt out light bulbs in the kitchenette ceiling and trash and leaves at our door) (these are separate buildings with 4 rooms per building) and both were taken care of promptly. Continental breakfast was pretty standard, except for the lack of sweet rolls. They do have 2 of the "make your own waffle" machines. read more

This is akin to a $25/night hotel rented by the month from a slumlord who has done nothing to maintain this site. Old Residence Inn that is totally unacceptable for business. I went into my room for the first time - the patio sliding door was wide open (screen door was closed). No security. No soap in my room - only shampoo. No pillow covers on my pillows. All electrical service panels were open as I walked through the courtyard . Weeds and dead bushes every where. Just weird, filthy and unkept. We went to 4 different rooms before we had to leave the first room the sewer backed up and the smell was unbearable the second room we were sent to had trash on the floor and the beds were unmade the third room we went to we walked in and there was somebody in there watching TV the last room we went to before we left had a missing door knob dirty bathtubs and stains on the sheets it was a bad experience and we will not be going back if you are looking for another affordable hotel in the area stay at hunt valley inn amazing indoor pool and good prices read more

My family and I stayed here for our spring break vacation and from the time we checked in til the time we checked out we had nothing but problems. I would recommend you stay somewhere else. I could eventually get over the problems we had, but the deal breaker came when me and my family came back from being out all day sight seeing and found that they had came in our room while we where gone, after that I was done and no longer felt safe. read more

One star is being charitable for Chase Suites. The easier way to provide an overview is to say "the hotel was 85% finished and 75% maintained". On my recent visit the wireless ands internet did NOT work for one week! This is in addition to all the other aggravating problems that are causing to me to upgrade to another hotel at the same price. This was the fancy hotel the company paid for us to stay in. We've been traveling cross country staying in a lot of cheap motels and such and you would have thought for the price this place charges they would have some of the same things that you take for granted in hotels. For instance, there is no wi-fi. You have to go to the office to get an ethernet cable and then you are stuck sitting in an uncomfotable chair at the kitchen island in order to use your computer. Another issue was the size of the television. It was the smallest tv of any hotel we've stayed in. And this includes places like Motel 6. Also, there are no guides as to which channel is which. And your selection of channels is limited. Our other problem was with the bath. The drain stopper did not work at all. They had to fix that. Then there wasn't enough hot water to fill a bath. Next, when getting out of the bath, the bar that you are supposed to steady yourself on just effortlessly broke off. Oh, and the toilet didn't flush completely. In summary, Chase Suite Hotels was like having your own little crappy apartment where nothing works. For $2600 a month I'd much rather have a really nice hotel room where everything is luxury. Or at least where you can take a bath and watch tv afterwords without having to have something fixed or a problem dealt with. read more

***BED BUGS*** Thin walls so you can hear everything outside and in the room above you. Garbage all over outside. The free breakfast should be avoided - it's very bad. Staff is nice but unprofessional. My husband and toddler woke up with what we thought were hives from an allergic reaction but we were wrong....BED BUGS!! Are you kidding me? Never again. Please take my word for it, this place is a dump. If i had read the reviews, especially about the bed bugs, I would have never stayed here. It is an old Residence Inn that was never maintained and should be demolished. It has new management, Quality Inn, but the property is in such bad shape that it probably cannot be salvaged. The reason why the pictures of the outside of the building have snow is because the over grown landscape, weeds, cracked sidewalks, poorly repainted entrance area are covered. read more
