HEALTH CONCERN.I do not usually do this but I have to leave a review after my experience here. I stayed here from June 11th to July 11th with my cat and my dog. The last week of my stay I noticed green mold (you can see from the pictures) on the carpet under the bed, and on the dust cover of the bed. There is also black mold on the air conditioner. I alerted the front desk and simply asked to change rooms due to the mold because it takes 2 weeks for mold to be visible so it has been there almost my entire stay and my pets and I have been breathing it in. I had been experiencing symptoms of mold exposure such as congestion and itchiness that was abnormal for me. They informed me they were fully booked up and could not change my room. I asked if there was anything else they could do for me to compensate for being exposed to mold and was told there would be a general manager and a maintenance man to come in about an hour. However, an hour later only the maintenance man came and told me it was not mold and quickly cleaned everything up. I asked if the manager was going to speak with me and he ignored me and just kept saying it wasn't mold. The maintenance man also informed me that my windows had been cracked. This was extremely alarming because I did not at any point open the windows myself. The only time they could have been opened is when I removed my pets to have the room cleaned. They accused me multiple times of leaving the windows open, but it would've made no sense for me to do that for many reasons. I am a single woman at a ground floor apartment so it would not be safe, and more importantly my cat and dog are in there without me while I am at work and temperatures were in the ninety's daily. My cat is also an escape artist and the window screen had a hole in it already . At this point my mother had to get involved because I could not get an audience with the manager and over the phone, she was told over and over that mold is only black and not green. This is obviously un true. When we did not accept that as an answer the manager became hostile towards us and absolutely refused a refund or any kind of compensation for there being mold in my room. I would give this hotel zero stars if that were an option. Two friends and I made reservations through the Extended Stay America website for a room with two beds to celebrate one friend's birthday. When we arrived we found that we were given a room with one queen sized bed only. When I went to the front desk to discuss this and showed them my confirmation for a room with two beds I was told that, without informing us, the room had been changed and they had no rooms with two beds left. They said that we should have made the reservation directly with the individual hotel rather than the website because that was the only way we could be sure we got what we reserved. They were not concerned that we now had three people and only one bed. They admitted that there was another single bed room available but we could only get that if we paid the full price for it despite the fact that they had been the ones to put us in this position. They offered no compensation of any kind except to offer a roll out bed. We tried to find another hotel but at that point no other affordable accommodation was available in the area (it was Baltimore and it was Preakness weekend). We tried to call the Extended America customer service line but it was closed for the weekend. We were told that the manager had left and while she would be called we could not speak with her. She was the one who said our only alternative was the cot. We finally agreed to the cot and were given one with a torn and dirty mattress. It was almost impossible to sleep on because it was just springs with a thin material over them. Extremely uncomfortable. We had to pad it with blankets to be able to make it usable at all. The man at the front desk was quite apologetic but kept emphasizing that there was nothing he could do. Later one of us heard some others on the elevator discussing how the same thing was done to them but they had four people in their party. We had stayed at this hotel a few times in the past but will never visit it or any Extended Stay America again. read more

I will never stay here again. I guess you get what you pay for. During the check in process the manager was not paying attention to me and asked me three separate times if I had a pet. I answered "no" each time. He also was rude to the person on the phone as I was being helped. The person was having trouble with their TV and he was condescending to the person. At 2 am there was a fire in the common kitchen in the lobby and we had to evacuate. When I got up to go to work, I hopped in the shower and realized the bathroom was not stocked with shampoo. Do not stay here. It is not safe. Last night a woman in room 321 was shrieking in terror in words that clearly indicated she was experiencing an extremely violent sexual assault after 11 pm. I called the police. The police responded immediately and reported to me they had responded to room 321 for the same reason the week before. They assisted me in evacuating the building. I have never heard a woman scream in complete fear for her well-being and with what sounded to be total panic with her isolation behind closed doors. It is a voice I can never forget. The event was traumatizing. Although the reservation planned for one week was cancelled and refunded by the front desk this morning I found it highly unusual that the attendant did not appear to be concerned about what had occurred in room 321 or acknowledgement of how the event impacted me. It really seems like sexual assault of a woman could be routine business for this location which is horrifying. read more

We paid for a room that was not available because they overbooked. Left our family stranded at 1:35am in the middle of MD after we drove more than 5 hours to be there. Manager not available only a "laundry guy", as he referred to himself. We had to drive for hours to book another place. When I called the next day the front desk Shanea hung up the phone when I asked for the Manager. DONT BOOK HERE THEY SELL THE ROOM TO ANOTHER AND LEAVE YOU OUT EVEN WITH AN ALREADY PAID RESERVATION. We were exhausted and unable to continue our trip so we lost $347 from Busch Garden tickets and had to paid another hotel. We drive from Tennessee, arrive in time to drop our bags in the room and head out to meet friends for dinner. We get back and my wife sees bugs crawling on the bed. I go to the front desk to get a new room. After some mumbling and fumbling, I get a new room and suprise.....bugs. At this point the employee has a bug collection kit in the original room. I inform him that we cannot stay, we gather our bags and check in up the street at the Hampton Inn. I call Priceline and ultimately get charged for the room as we "checked in". There is a new category for this type of place. It's called "dive hotel". Disgusting. No no no no no no. read more

This was my first experience at this hotel chain, and unfortunately I will not be trying it again. It pales in comparison to other extended stay hotels like candlewood and residence inn. The property is supposed to be smoke free but both my room and my friend's room smelled of smoke. The counter in my room hadn't been cleaned, and there was on old orange peel under the bed. The fridge was dirty, and the kitchen supplies were very sparse. Plus not even a hair drier! read more

Stayed at this location for about two weeks while working at a nearby town & I must say this is the best cleaning service I have seen at an ESA. Everything was left neat and tidy. The rooms are not clean. Underwear left from previous guests under the bed. The towels and bed linen were stained. When I asked for clean washcloths and towels. The desk clerk said she had to wash more washcloths. She also informed us at check in all they had for breakfast was muffins and juice they don't do big breakfasts. I also will never stay here again. You definitely get what you pay for - especially CHEAP SERVICE. My girlfriend, yorkie and myself "tried" to stay at the Lutherville-Timonium, MD location Sat April 13th. The AC unit made a loud metallic sound from 2am till we finally decided we cannot take it anymore at 5am. I have 2 videos supporting the sound of the AC unit. In order to get cool air" we had to put it all the way down to 65 degrees...in APRIL! The AC unit in Room 218 is broken. I contacted the front desk at 5am, the gentleman who answered was very nice but told me to call back after 9am when General Manager was in. I called back at 11am, spoke to a female who said she was "authorized to refund me 15%". Who authorized this refund? She did not ask for any evidence. I declined the offer, she then abruptly offered me my "pet fee" back of $25 plus the tax (I was not sure if this included the 15% she was "authorized" to give). I declined the mere "pet fee" b/c my pet slept fine...the 2 humans (my girlfriend and I) did not. I was told I would be contacted by the manager within 24 hours (today 4/15) and I received NO PHONE CALL...nothing. I have filed a claim with corporate, received an email saying I would receive a call within 24/48 hours....I still have received NO communication. Housekeeping doesn't clean your room they just give you new linens. They may or may not take out your garbage. Suppose to have coffee at 6 am this doesn't always happen and manager doesn't do anything to correct the situation. read more

I didn't not like the way I was treated also they say there is free breakfast but they provide coffee and granola bars .. This is the first time in my life I think I will have filed a bad review for a Hotel. I stayed at this hotel for about a month before the General manager Devon Brown ran my information on my credit card without my permission causing it to be blocked. Because of this I had a deposit coming in, in which it couldn't because my card had been temporary blocked. I had bills come through on my account causing my account to be completely screwed up because of this error. Devon the GM has no idea what he's doing or how to work the computers. He has told me several times the amount of my bill which was completely wrong from what it really was. Throughout every single day at least 2 or 3 guest are at the front desk complaining with him about their bills and unnecessary charges. So on the day I had to check out, I spoke with the district manager, Mohamed Gheis about how Devon ran my credit card Illegally his words was " You didn't catch it in time it only takes a minute to fix" End quote. He could care less about how my account was messed up from this. He also was extremely rude! I have to now take things on a whole new level with this hotel because Mr Brown. Stay away from this hotel, no one wants to work for him, all his cleaning staff quits on him. If you want you card illegally charge then this is the hotel for you. The district manager will be nothing but rude to you once you mention your complaint......Let me add, the MANAGER Devon would ask me almost every night what I was having for dinner so i can make or order him food! I have done if for him several times to be nice, But he would ask me every single time he was on duty what am I making for dinner expecting me to make or order him a meal. read more

While the hotel's location is convenient, I found a number of issues that would keep me from staying here again. As an extended stay hotel, beware that if you only plan to stay a night or two, there are not the typical amenities such as a coffee maker, coffee, pad of paper and pen, conditioner, or lotion. The WiFi is weak and I ended up using my cellular service during my stay. The beds are very firm and includes three pillows (two feather and one regular of medium firmness). The top comforter is thin, cheaply made, and a bit scratchy. There is the usual extra, fleecy blanket on the bed. The lights mounted to the wall beside the bed, swivel which makes it nice for reading a book. One of the lightbulbs was burned out in our room. The TV has the typical channels including Showtime. Our remote's batteries were dead, but were were easily able to have the front desk bring us new ones. Our garbage can still had garbage in it from the last guest but overall the room was pretty clean. The morning breakfast in "grab and go" and includes coffee, tea, hot chocolate, instant oatmeal, and granola bars. If you need a place to stay for an extended time period, this hotel works but isn't the best option available in the area. ** I am amending my original review and knocking it down to one star since when I awoke and sat up in bed, there was a stink bug sitting on my bed with me. I would like to start this review off claiming to all that I am a traveling businessman and stay in various hotels throughout the United States. I would never let one of my dogs stay at this hotel simply because of bugs dirty carpet and very unclaimed rooms. Our company has furnished our room for 12 days we will have one day of room service. You do not get no conditioner and or lotion you are given one small bottle of shampoo for two people to bathe with. On numerous occasions I have gone to the front desk to retrieve our bath and hand towels to only find that the bath towels are available that washcloth cannot be found. The worst problem I have with this hotel is I can never get a hot shower every time that I take a shower I either have cold or lukewarm water to start with at best and always finish with ice cold shower. I would highly recommend to anybody looking to stay at this hotel to advise them to pay an extra $52.00 to stay at another hotel in this area, again this hotel is not fit for my dog to stay at let alone a human being. Every time I call the front desk I don't get the good customer service that I see signs throughout the hotel telling us about, I get crappy attitudes of people that seem they don't care whether I stay here or not. There is no coffee maker in room all supplies I have to go to the front desk to get. Not to mention the two stink bugs that I had killed in the first two days of my stay at this hotel. There are never no Outlets to charge cell phones I have a lamp on the left side of my bed that does not even have an outlet to plug into for lighting. The breakfast weather Continental or not, basically consists of oatmeal muffins granola bars and coffee of which the coffee is usually out. appliances in the room seem to be of ancient years that being 20 year old refrigerator outdated microwave oven. The amenities in this hotel are substandard for $100 a night. All I can say and advise other fellow customers of this hotel is to look for the closest Motel 6 and stay at their hotel. read more

This is my first stay in a ESA hotel. The cleaning service was good and the staff very friendly. The kitchens have bare minimum supplies, so plan on a trip to the dollar store. Laundry area was nice and accessible. Stayed here for 3 weeks Keeping in mind that this isn't supposed to be the "hilton". It did the job. Also make sure you get the high speed wifi as the regular is way to slow. read more
