I will never stay here again. I guess you get what you pay for. During the check in process the manager was not paying attention to me and asked me three separate times if I had a pet. I answered "no" each time. He also was rude to the person on the phone as I was being helped. The person was having trouble with their TV and he was condescending to the person. At 2 am there was a fire in the common kitchen in the lobby and we had to evacuate. When I got up to go to work, I hopped in the shower and realized the bathroom was not stocked with shampoo. At that time it was too late to call the front desk so I used hand soap. Overall I was not happy withe experience.

I enjoyed this convention...however, the downfall is that it started very slow. I did the full…read moreweekend pass and on Friday the opening ceremony was less than impressive. It seemed like only half of the vendors were set up and prepared, and the weird buffet seemed very unorganized with not enough tables. I think for a little convention it did justice, however it was pretty much based around Star Wars and Star Trek. There are so many different types of Sci Fi shows/movies out there to explore. Anyway, I don't know if I'd honestly come back to this convention unless I know one of the voice actors. Again, I get it, it's not big like Otakon or Katsucon...however for a smaller convention, I'd expect it to still be just as diverse and probably MORE organized. Thankfully I got to get info from other conventions to check out.

I have met some really great guests and the con staff are great and very helpful. The dealers room is amazing with a very diverse product for sale. Then there's the auction room. I've picked up some cool stuff there. The workshops are all very interesting, entertaining, and educational on all levels. I drive 4 hours south to spend the whole weekend. We even stay till Monday morning so we don't miss anything. We then have a last night dinner at the restaurant. If your a Scifi/fantasy fan then your gonna love this con. There is also a great night life too. Karaoke Friday night, and then the dance on Saturday. Activities for kids, guests Q&A etc...

Normally the PLUS in RED ROOF+ locations means new furniture and other upgrades and amenities. Not…read morethis location though. This has to be the worst Red Roof I've ever stayed at, and I've stayed in many. They are normally clean and decently appointed. No, they're not the Hilton, Hyatt, Ritz, Mandarin or Four Seasons by a wide berth, but they get the job done. I had a meeting on Wednesday morning and rather than driving 1.5 hours in uncertain traffic, I decided to spend the night in the area and I picked this place since I was told Parkville hotels were sketchy. From a logistics standpoint it made sense since my meeting was only about 15 minutes away from this property. Wow, is all I can say. People were sitting in lawn chairs outside of the rooms like you were in the Mississippi Delta or some place. All that was missing was a fishing pole and a river or pond. It was kind of disturbing. I saw toothlessness, drug tracks on people's arms and some other stuff I won't even mention. And that was all within the first 15 minutes of check-in. The room? After the front desk clerk gave me a room with no fridge and microwave the first time....then a key to the wrong room the second time....and then a key that didn't work the the third time (right room this time, finally), I was a wee bit annoyed. Walked into the room and it's a fly fest. One or two on such a hot day with a open door as I move my stuff inside I can understand, but there was at least a dozen flies in that room. You'd have sworn that was a dead body in there somewhere. Luckily there was not. I had a can of Microban spray that I carry in my car that came in handy to spray the entire room down. The front dresser had a drawer that had fallen off and was resting against the wall. I guess the engineer decided it wasn't worth replacing. Same with the air conditioning unit. The unit's cover had completely fallen off exposing all the inhaled black dust and yuck inside. I've seen units with the facade partially loose but not one that had completely become detached. The vent on the bathroom wall was hanging by a wire, which I had to push back in. Mold on the ceiling. The tub had all sorts of hard water stains and chips on the porcelain. It reminded me of an hourly motel rather than one of the same Red Roof properties that had served me well over the years. Most of the stuff I didn't even bother taking pics of. Use your imagination and stay away from this particular location.

She was doing the best she could given those around her. 3. Sharay (sp?)... the lady getting the Marriott members lounge together. She held herself together while getting the breakfast area set up. She seasoned the powdered eggs so well!

Our toilet seat wasn't on the toilet they had to send someone to repair. Second night 1. Elevators weren't working had to go up and down 10 flights 2. Ice machine wasn't working leaked all over the floor 3. Key didn't work we were given a new set. Third night 1. Elevators weren't working again until late in day we had to use service elevator but there was a wedding so had to walk up to second floor to use. 2. We got soaked in downtown Baltimore ran up 10 flights of stairs for our key not to work again. 3. Husband had to run down 10 flights of stairs barefoot because shoes were soaked to get new key. 4. Our room didn't get serviced we left at 11 am this day. We had to use towels to dry ourselves and stuff and call for new towels. 5. Manager complaint to Michael who told us to use laundry room which also was offline and didn't work 6. Asked for preliminary bill sent to us but email services also not working We spoke to two managers Michael and Randall and as a female they completely dismissed me not even looking at me while I spoke. I had to send my husband to do the talking as he was the only one they would acknowledge...kind of. We were promised Marriott bonvoy points since they said there was no way anything would be refunded. The never arrived. There was a line of people complaining in the lobby they were really rude to the females.
