If you're into the shake shack style type of burger, you will enjoy the burgers here! They are "smash burgers", thinner patty and not super greasy, served on a soft potato roll. The chipotle sauce is similar or the same as the sauce from namkeen. They are generous with the pickles and the grilled and fried onions complemented the burger well. The serrano peppers in the spicy smash burger were HOT, exactly how I like it! The staff are always friendly here and the restaurant has a nice calming cafe feel. This is my new "go-to" for burgers in the area and I would highly recommend!

Felt misled by the reviews here. Not necessarily a terrible experience by any means, but certainly didn't experience the hype of this place. Have come here a few times and have generally had the same experience each time. Very small inside with limited seating, so I'm guessing most people tend to opt for take-out which I haven't done as I've dined-in each time I came here. Having tried several items, the food is just okay in my opinion, with the Dewani Waffle being probably the only item I would recommend. Although they always seem to be out of the sweet mascarpone every time I've been, which to me is unusual. In general if you're coming for food, I would recommend the waffles as they have been done well each time I come. I do like the berries and ice cream they provide, as they go well together. Service was disappointing. Every time I have been met with indifference/rudeness, and they seemed annoyed when I would even ask questions about the items. Also as a warning, there is no bathroom even for paying customers, or at least I was refused one when asking.

Great option for Indian fusion right by Namkeem. I had originally learned about this place from a Yelp elite event that I had attended and since returned a few times. Usually get the burger because it's very flavorful with the indian spices. The burger is quite juicy. I think a double patty is probably best, but even the single is decent. Tip: skip the fries and instead order a chicken tender from Namkeem to have on the side!

What's up Chatham NJ? Chashni is what up! You may just walk by this little gem on the way to Ward's Coffee, but stop in for lunch or dinner. Don't let the name or exotic ingredients put you off. But beware, though there's no signage and no one will tell you, you need to order at the counter then hope to grab one of the limited tables. Arguably the best waffles ever...Gulabi: pistachio, roes pedals, kulfi ice cream and a perfectly manicured waffle...same for the Dewani waffle topped with marscapone. And that price point...$10.00 what??? Amazing! And that smash burger? Totally on point and at $7.00...what?? That's what's up Chatham!

Honestly 5/5 - Food, Quality, Service & Staff The flavors speak for itself, I heard only great things about most dishes and had to try it for myself. Cannot wait to come back and try the chai and Gulabi waffle ! The anda waala burger was a flavor bomb, the butternut squash toast was sweet and savory !! Will come back again and recommend too.

I had the perfect waffle today. Crisp on the outside, tender on the inside. If you're a waffle fan, you should come here. You enter a small store front restaurant. They have about 6 marble bistro tables. Soft jazz plays, making it a relaxing place. I came early on a Friday morning and the place was empty. You order and pay at the counter and they bring the food when it's ready. My waffle and chai were made to order and were not only beautiful looking but divine tasting. I got the gulabi waffle - pistachio, rose petals, kulfi ice cream on a gulab jamun belgian waffle. The syrup was like the kind that drizzles over baklava. It was a light application, which was perfect because the kulfi ice cream with the syrup gave you a nice sweetness. The pistachios were ground to a fine dust and were lovely. Honestly the whole thing was perfect. It was more of a dessert but I'm a gal who eats cake for breakfast. I also had chai tea. It was good but I'm not a big fan of chai and won't comment further. I'll definitely return. I knew they'd be good bc the owner is the same as Namkeen, which is 2 doors down. Free parking on street and in lots behind the stores.

i had the opportunity to dine here with a friend a few days ago & im still thinking about the avocado toast & cozy autumn salad- they were so yummy! we tried the avocado toast (a must try), cozy autumn salad (another must try), gulaba waffle, and the pear toast. i could definitely go with out the last two mentioned, but that's bc i'm not much of a sweet tooth- if you are definitely give it a try! the waffles paired really well the ice cream. i think the highlight of this restaurant for me was the bold cultural flavor profiles in each dish, no dish went unnoticed. the seasonings in both the avocado toast & autumn salad was out of this world. i live in linden & wouldn't mind considering the drive up there once in a WHILE to order both those items. the service was very prompt & the workers are kind. i will say the restaurant was a little smaller than i expected, but it made up for it in every dish we managed to try.

Chashni is the hottest Pakistani brunch spot in all of New Jersey. It's the Pakistani American fusion that makes this such a unique experience. Their desi omelet paratha is to die for. And so is the egg sammie and anday wala burger. The chai is the best I have had. And coffee drinks are very well crafted as well. They source their beans from SEY coffee.

So happy to have another great option added to Chatham's Main Street. Same owners as the very popular Namkeen, Chashni dished out an excellent sweet waffle that my family used as dessert. The waffle was nice and fluffy, berries fresh, syrup not too sweet, and the marscapone was a nice touch. Some interesting sounding toasts are on the menu, as well as gulab jamun waffle which sounded very unique (but maybe too sweet for me). Also chai, coffee, and teas.

We ordered a hot chai, two classic smash burgers, tomato burrata toast and two waffles (gulabi, mastani). The food was delicious! My seven year old gave it a 100/10. The service was good. The food came to the table quickly. The ambiance is a cafe vibe which is cool for a quick bite to catch up with a friend, first date, or an informal business meeting. We will be back again!

We ordered an egg sandwich and a waffle along with a couple of coffees. The latte and the flat white were the exact same size, and the oat milk wasn't steamed well--it was a bit watery. The egg sandwich came out first, and then we saw that after the plate was delivered to the table, they started making the waffle. The egg sandwich was ridiculously oily, but after wiping some of it up, it tasted fine. The chicken on top of the waffle was basically a spicy chicken finger. Though everything tasted good, I felt like the attention to detail could have been a tad better.

Ok whaaaat did I just eat. This was such a perfect brunch! 10/10 on flavor, service, ambiance, everything. It's a small cozy cafe in downtown Chatham with clean bright colors and a modern chic flair. I loved the galabi waffle. Not too sweet and great spices. The baretta and egg surprised me. I didn't think that the slight mix of savory and sweet was necessary but it was. And it was great. Enjoyed my oatmilk chai. read more

Overall rating - ***** 5/5 Great for: A quick bite for breakfast or brunch with decent seating. No reservations required. Anday wala burger: 5/5 - absolutely delicious. definitely has a kick to it if you're able to tolerate it, go for it. It's got the right amount of tang, spice, and everything you could ever want. Omelette paratha- 6/5. This is the thing to get !! Channay ki Daal is Excellent. Omelette great too even though it doesn't have green chillies. It's so nice we ordered it twice. Avocado toast- 5/5 very fresh. Feels like your taste buds went to a garden then got back for another bite. Not crazy spicy but has red chili powder on it. Perfect for a summer day. Kulfi shake- 5 /5 - my toddler loves it and so do i. Both shakes are not overly sweet but just right. Nutella shake- 5/5- kids love it. Just right. Not too sweet. You definitely taste the rose. Chai with sugar-4 /5- its definitely strong and warm for cold weather. (Could be 5/5. im a bit more stingy with the rating of chai) Other Suggestions: -The herbal tea--you kinda have to make your own. They provide 2 flavors. Green tea and Egyptian chamomile. I recommend opting for pakistani chai instead. -We were very cold. The door kept opening and bringing in freezing cold air. The heater they have Barely works. Would be better to dress warmly. - bathroom is well stocked and has a Muslim shower. Bathroom floors need a mop but will do. read more

Went there for the first time today. And then we returned again. The best Aanday wala burger and Chai.Nice place to get some interesting twist in Pakistani food. Waffle with rose petal and pistachio was ahhhmazing. Chai also had some rose water. Really really good. Seating is somewhat limited. You have to get sugar, napkins etc yourself. Prices are a bit high but we are definite regular customers going forward read more

Went for a Sunday brunch and really enjoyed the food: we got gulabi waffle, mastani waffle, chicken waffle, avacado toast, anday wala burger and chai. Everything tasted delicious, very authentic and the service was friendly. The only downside is the space is small and cramped so you'll be waiting to be seated. I have been really high on this place and recommending to others. All 5 star experiences. But this visit was a bit disappointing. Desi breakfast (desi omelet, paratha, daal) is no longer on the menu. Chai is one smallish cup with no refills. And the peach ricotta toast was not as good as in past. Peaches were not tender and less ricotta. I'm still rooting for this place but need to keep up the quality. Also stop playing crappy loud pop music. I'm coming for chai and conversation. read more

The place itself is more like a fast food restaurant than a sit down. Ther is no wait staff. We had the waffles with berries and mascarpone which was delicious. The waffles are made to order. We also ordered cappuccinos which were also delicious. We came around 1pm and were the only patrons. The counter staff person was very accommodating. The price for the two of us was $20. Not bad at all and well worth the money. read more

I wanted to really love this place but overall the experience was subpar. The food is great, when you actually get it after waiting a long long time. The service is incredibly slow, attention to detail and customers is missing. Had to ask about food ordered several times. Seems they are not only understaffed but also have employees that are not well trained. Not sure if I would go back. read more

The food here is imaginative and generally yummy. However, the service was slow, inattentive and overall disappointing. We waited over an hour for some of our food and even worse never had anyone check on us, give an update, or even clear out plates which were stacked up and sitting there for over 30 minutes. The mango drinks for our two small kids were never served. When we asked for them, they had none stocked in the fridge and gave us warm containers from the supply room with a shrug (we had to suggest that they give us a cup of ice). The gulab jamun waffles, which were meant to be the highlight, never came despite waiting for over an hour. If I return, it'll be for a pick up order. read more

Very cute small spot. Nice modern design. Friendly staff. I would love to have taken pictures but those burgers were soooo good we did not even think of it but woww the classic smash burgers are ON POINT. Thin patty delicious sauce soft like a cloud bun chopped onions cheese and pickles i know it sounds like a typical burger but no its not its excellent excellenttt highly recommend giving them a try i can guarantee you will not be disappointed! read more

Small cafe packs a lot of punch. Waffle was delicious as was the pesto egg Sammie. Chai tea was very good too (I had it without sugar but added some ice cream from the waffle). Service was good too. Hope to visit again soon to try other things on the menu along with their coffee. read more

Flavor explosion. Two visits now and I will be coming back. The Chai is ridiculous especially when paired with the desi omelette. Service was great as our server told us that the tradition is to eat with your hands. Wish they had more low carb options but other than that no complaints. Minimal hot spice, just enough for flavor. I can't really eat spicy food. read more

The place is super cute!! They make the chai in front of you and it was pretty good. The masala wasn't too strong which I liked, but the chai itself we got was strong (for me) everyone else thought it was perfect. I love the little cups they came in. We also got their gulab jamun cake and it was tasty, it paired really well with the chai. I agree with the other reviews that the place made us smile. There was some cute Urdu art on the wall. It is a little small though, but otherwise; perfect. We also tried Namkeen which was right next door! read more

I knew I would be there at a certain time so I placed an online order for three sea salt coffees. I made sure they would be ready at a certain time that the app let me set. Also to note I've been here a few times and it's a very typical 85° which has a few tables to sit at and definitely keeps it very basic and bakery feeling. I get there about a half hour later and my coffee is not ready yet even though it was supposed to be ready 2 minutes before. I stood there for a while and finally someone came up to the coffee counter and asked if I needed anything. I said I was simply just waiting for my online order that I placed over a half hour ago. He went over to his computer and printed it out and got started on it but doesn't really give me a lot of confidence in placing online orders in the future. The worker did apologize and I appreciate that so four stars for now. As I was leaving, a lady who was also waiting for her coffee noted that she did the same thing and apparently they don't have all of their ducks in a row yet.

The cafe itself is on the smaller side but still an ample amount of seating. It's excellent for meeting with a friend, however the tables are rather small so it is less study friendly unless you manage to snag one of the bigger tables by the entrance. Which is admittedly pretty tough to do unless you get here right when it opens or catch a lucky break when someone leaves - I speak from experience. That said, it's overall a pretty solid spot to get work done. Parking in downtown Summit is a pain in general, I usually just park in the lot and walk over. Limit is at 5 hours and you will have to walk back if you want to extend it. There might be parking available by the cafe, but I'm personally less confident on how long you can to stay before getting ticketed/booted, so do so at your own risk.

The starters came out three minutes after we placed them, which was odd. They start the meal off with a choice of one of their breads. I went with the focaccia, and it was tremendous. It was soft with a tomato flavor on the outside. For starters, the octopus ($24) and cauliflower steak ($20) was ordered. The octopus came grilled with potatoes, preserved lemon, and Niçoise olives. This was solid. The octopus was tender and flavorful. The potatoes were tasty as well. My only issue was the amount of olives as there were only two present. There was a very strong lemon flavor too. I liked it, but at times, it felt like too much. The cauliflower steak had a lemon-soy emulsion, tomatoes, cucumbers, and capers. The cauliflower was perfectly cooked and there appeared to be a lot of butter used here. The tomatoes, cucumbers, and capers were a nice addition to complement the cauliflower. For an entrée, I had the tuna ($44). It came with haricot verts, avocado, coconut sticky rice, and a soy-ginger vinaigrette. This dish was very good except the tuna. The flavor was good, but it was not very tender and was a tad overcooked. The sticky rice was the highlight here along with the vinaigrette. I also tried the lamb dish that came with delicata squash, Brussel sprouts, potato gnocchi, and a romesco sauce. This was great. The lamb was cooked to a perfect medium rare while the gnocchi and squash were creative additions. For dessert, the warm chocolate tart ($15) was ordered. It came with pecan crust, praline, and vanilla ice cream. I never saw a pecan crust with a chocolate tart and I enjoyed it. The chocolate tart was gooey while being very rich, but light at the same time. The vanilla ice cream was definitely needed. Will I go back? I would.

A hidden gem of a pakistani cafe from the team behind Namkeen! The anday wala burger is better than what you get back home. The chai is 10/10. The gulabi waffle is a unique combination of gulab jamun and kulfi flavors in the form of waffles and ice cream.
