This bagel shop fell short in almost every way except for the customer service. The young guys behind the counter were friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the bagel tasted stale, was overpriced, and just not good. There are several better bagel spots in the area. It's a cute shop in a nice shopping complex with plenty of parking and some outdoor seating, but you can't judge a book by its cover. I expected better. read more

Was in the area and needed some breakfast so I stopped in for a Bagel Sandwich and a Coffee which on a freezing cold morning was just what I was looking for. The Sandwich on the other hand was mediocre and not at all what I was looking for. I guess I expected something better from this place by it's appearance and location but it definitely fell short of my expectations.    In my opinion Ike's has freshness issues and it shows in their final product. To me, these Bagels seem like they've been sitting around a while. Plus the Taylor Ham I ordered tasted a little off so I'm hopping that's not a quality control concern either.   Lastly for whatever reason toppings just don't stick to these Bagels. Very average bagel shop. Perhaps a bit below average. I have ordered from Ike's several times. I occasionally pop in out of convenience when shopping at the Aldi next door. Today I had a double egg on a sesame bagel. The egg was overcooked and dry. The bagel was kind of stale. It was edible but I wasn't impressed. I dined in and sat at a filthy table. I tried to use the hot sauce but the bottle opening was completely crusted over. I then grabbed a bottle from another table. Same thing. The prep area looks sloppy. They appear to have more than enough workers on staff to keep the place clean. Poor management I guess. I'm not sure if I'll fine at Ike's again. read more

Staff were nice but ordering was confusing and ended up getting too much food because of it. Eggs had shells in them and tasted off. I love their sesame and everything bagels, but my favorite thing to order is their bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a roll. The bacon is crispy, the egg isn't runny and the roll is always fresh and soft. The service is always quick and friendly. The dirtiest bagel place i ever visited! Not sure which of us (me or the bagel place) will get it worse... First, walked in, said good morning, got a smile from another customer, and a grunt from the owner (maybe?). Second, the guy taking orders, had the filthiest nails/hair/shirt i ever seen on anyone serving food to another person. Got my order wrong- he forgot to add the turkey bacon. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, sets the whole tone for the rest of the day IMO. I ordered power omelet. It was bland, and unappetizing. Bagel my husband ordered was like rubber. I needed to stop in this shopping center at lunch today, so it was a perfect time to visit Ike's. It had been a few years since I was last here so I wanted to see if much changed. It really hasn't, it was decent then and still is. I went for an onion bagel with scallion cream cheese. The amount of cream cheese was more than generous and was very good. I also got a cup of self serve coffee with it. Plenty of seating and easy parking. Lots of bagel choices in the area. I found Ike's middle of the road. No complaints, but not my favorite. read more

Ordered: The Hungry Man (~$7): 2 eggs with roast beef, cheese, and a hash brown on a roll (scooped out) and added avocado (~$1) Aya's take: It legitimately does not get better than this. This specialty breakfast sandwich is one I think about often. First things first, I asked for the roll to be scooped out from the inside and that made it so much better, in my opinion. Looking for a quick bite around 1:30pm, my 3 year old toddler is a picky eater but would eat breakfast food. It was pretty empty when I walked in but it is also a breakfast place that closes at 3pm. I ordered a Taylor ham egg and cheese sandwich, it only took them a few minutes to make. I thought it was pretty good and my toddler ate half of the sandwich which means he really likes it. There is a wide selection on the menu and chips and snacks. They also have fresh squeezed Orange juice. There were a few tables there if you want to dine in. The sandwiches are great, but each time I go, the prices change. When I spoke with the owner, he said the menu prices have gone up but to what level, I can't tell. Unfortunately, I can not go to the cafe any longer until the menu has been updated and I know what I will be paying. Today I pald $9.00 for a taylor ham on a bagel. They don't just have bagels - protein shakes, sandwiches, impressive cold foods selection. Plenty of seating and when it's nice outside, outdoor seating. I went here earlier today to get a bagel, it was my first time trying Ike's. I usually don't pass that direction but I saw a sign for it in the shoppes at the Livingston circle and my normal bagel place was out of the way from where I was coming. I went simple for my order and just got a sesame seed bagel with vegetable cream cheese, not toasted (pictured). It was four dollars and some change because it was a speciality cream cheese but the bagel was a good size and the vegetable cream cheese had nice chunks of vegetables spread throughout. It is one of the better bagels I've had near me and I was very happy with my choice to try it! I will definitely go back when I'm in the area! And maybe I'll be more adventurous and get something more complex than cream cheese! read more

Was in the neighborhood and decided to try Ike's Bagel Cafe. Located in a shopping center on Eisenhower Parkway with plenty of parking spots available. Everyone is masked and behind plexiglass. Nice selection of bagels and friendly service. Note $10 minimum on credit cards. I ordered the Hungry Man which is two eggs, toast beef, cheese, and hash browns on a roll. I substituted a whole wheat everything bagel instead of a roll. Took it home and it was still hot. This sandwich was fantastic. I've always wondered why no one served roast beef in a breakfast sando. Well my desire has come true and Ike's delivered. The roast beef was cooked well and not overdone and meshed beautifully with the eggs, cheese, and hash browns. The hash browns were not too greasy and added a bit of crunch to a delectable sandwich. Highly recommend and I will be coming back to sample more of their food for sure. A little of the beaten path for me but so worth it. read more

Since this place was recently sold, the quality of the food shows. If you order a bagel with butter, you might as well order a bagel by itself. That's how little butter they put on it. But, if you order a bagel with cream cheese, you need to squeeze it out and discard the extra. They put way too much in it. There's no consistency. The coffee gives heartburn. I have been back. A bit more pricey than other local bagel spots, and although the staff was very friendly and accommodating, the place is clean, and they have a large variety of food to choose from, I wasn't impressed with the taste or price of the food here. I had to check in on FB to get free wifi, wasn't thrilled with that. Ive been coming here for quite some time. Im not much of a regular, but whenever my kids ask for a rainbow bagel, I usually come here. This place makes a decent bagel, very standard, nothing over and beyond. But they do have quite a variety of bagels and spreads and other food cooked to order. What has always surprised me is the lack of courtesy, not from the general staff but from what I believe, based on the pictures on the wall, are the owners. You would think that having a thriving business, more so now in pandemic, would bring out the very best in a person but not here. They all look like they need to get on antidepressants. Ike's is everything that Livingston Bagel isn't. Bagels aside, their staff is more than cordial and attentive. Food is great and, best of all, they don't act like they're doing you a favor by taking your order. I guess it's location, location, location because they're not nearly as busy as their competition and they really should be. Granted, it's a rather tedious 5 minute drive down Route 10 but, IMO it's more than worth it. Owner is friendly and more than willing to assist you in your party planning or just choosing what bagel to order. Lines are fairly short. Coffee is hot and delicious as is everything else I've tried there. All and all, I think they're a solid choice and if you're in the Livingston area, they really should be your only choice. read more

The french toast bagel is the best around! The Taylor ham is thin cut and sweet (very good). They have a nice seating area if you wish to eat in or you can take out. Also, if you are in a rush, you can call ahead for quick pick up. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. The prices are reasonable for what you get. They are located right off of Route 10 and I-280 by the Livingston circle on Eisenhower Parkway in the Fresh Market and Olive Garden shopping center. Ike's has been a pleasant experience each time I have stopped in for lunch. All their salads and premade foods are very fresh. I've had wraps both times that I've eaten here and they did not skimp on their fillings like many places do. Plenty of seating is avaiable and they even have some tables outside should you want to eat your lunch al fresco. Another thing worth mentioning is how clean Ike's is. Even the bathrooms ! Always a good feeling. Make sure you sample some of the bagel pieces that they have for you at the register with their varied cream cheeses. The only reason why I couldn't say that Ike's is "as good as it gets" is because they are a little on the pricier side. $10 bucks for a basic turkey wrap is a little steep in my book. I am a firm believer in the concept of test them on the basics and then go for the specials. If they can do the basics right, it is a good foundation. I was in the area yesterday for a sales meeting and went here for lunch. I ordered a turkey sandwich on an everything bagel with lettuce tomato and mayonnaise. Everything was perfect. The bagel was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The turkey was sliced fresh and the lettuce and tomato were fresh and had that perfect crunch to it. The sandwich came with a side of macaroni salad and a pickle. I will be back next time I am in the area and try one of their specialty sandwiches. Way to go Ike and your crew. read more

Food: Ike's bagel selection is big, they've got everything you could want in a regular bagel or a flagel. Their cream cheese selection also has a lot of options and the staff has been friendly every time and asked if we wanted to try any of them. Only complaint came from when we brought a group, one of them thought their hot breakfast was a little bland, although it's a good portion for the price! The dining area is nice and big so no issues with seating, and the prices are fair, especially since the bagels are big! The staff has been friendly every time we've come and the food delicious.
