My partner and I stopped in around lunch for a cocktail and a quick bite, settling in at the bar. The space is visually striking; large, expressive portraits hang on the walls, colorful throw pillows line the banquettes, and shelves of labeled spice jars sit in the corner like a little apothecary. The bar itself is dramatic, a wall of bottles backed by bold red shelves. It all adds up to a room that feels like someone put real thought into every corner. We ordered the Ginger Turmeric Martini, which is made with Citron Vodka on the menu but we swapped in ISCO Gin; a substitution the bartender handled without hesitation. He mentioned he adds a tiny pinch of salt to some cocktails to brighten them up, a small detail, but the kind that tells you they actually think about what they're making. The drinks were served in cut crystal coupe glasses with a small edible flower floating on top, and they tasted as good as they looked. For food, we went with the Chili Cauliflower and the Dal Makhani. The cauliflower came out crispy in all the right ways, each floret holding its texture under a sticky, lightly sweet heat with a bit of tamarind that shines right through; tangy, a little smoky, deeply savory. The Dal Makhani was exceptional. The lentils were cooked with real intention, not reduced to mush but offering just a slight pop, and the overall flavor was rich and complex in a way that made it hard to put the naan down. Speaking of which, the garlic naan (sans cilantro, seeing as my partner has the gene where it tastes like soap) arrives charred and pillowy in equal measure, loaded with bits of fresh garlic. The service matched everything else. We were greeted warmly, and the staff genuinely seemed interested in getting to know us rather than just moving us through. Located in the corner of garden city. That means it's busy and parking is shared. You can make an RSVP online. Chairs are NOT size friendly. I would recommend asking for a booth seat. Staff was great. However, we told the server that we didn't want drinks at the moment, and she just took the menu anyway, so we just stuck with water. There will be multiple people tending to your table as they walk by. It's kind of cool seeing the kitchen. I think they have white noise or something, which was interesting. Korma was very good. Kabob was alright, chicken was cooked very good, but they give you a thimble of chutneys to dip. The korma sauce helped. Liked that they had vegan naan bread. My friend and I decided to try Chaska and we were not disappointed. The space is bright and airy, we had a great window seat. We were seated quickly and the staff are lovely. We started with the Chili Cauliflower that had a delicious crunch to it with great flavor. We both decided to try something new and opted for the Saag Paner and Chicken Kadhai. Both dishes were flavorful with generous portions. So glad we didn't fall back on long time favorites. For dessert we split an upside down pineapple cake that was the perfect finish to dinner. This place has a colorful and modern interior. The menu had the classic dishes I'd expect to see. I was greeted warmly and checked in by my server multiple times during my meal. I started with the samosa chaat. It was flavorful and crunchy and I really enjoyed it. For my entree, I went with chicken tikka masala. My server checked to make sure it didn't have tree nuts (I've been other places that use cashews and I have an allergy). I also got some garlic cilantro naan. The naan was pillowy soft, large, and delicious. The tikka masala comes with your choice of white or brown rice. I would have liked to have seen butter chicken on the dinner menu as well. There were several specials available and enough variety on the menu that I think everyone could find a dish they liked (soup, salads, lots of types of naan). It is always extremely tasty and I love that they have gluten free, vegan, and dairy free options. Great ambiance at the main their location too. The food is very good. I used to go there for lunch a couple of times a month. The staff was always excellent. Great lunch specials. I went there for their lunch special with two friends to celebrate a birthday. No more lunch specials. So I ended up paying a lot more for taking my two friends out double what I planned on a corporate pour of wine the exact 5 ounces I'm sorry to say but I love having lunch there, but I'll no longer ever go back. I have a feeling that they've taken on too many restaurants and now it's corporate attitude. Also, the service was not what it used to be. I literally sat there for like 10 minutes before they asked if we wanted a drink it was only four tables with people and two were already served. Never came back to see if we liked the food. I stumble across this Gem, because I was looking for a Starbucks! The food was so fresh, I got the lunch special which was a pretty large portion. I ending up getting the lamb, garlic nun, mango lassi, and squash samosas. So good. The service was really good too! This was our second visit to Chaska in a month, and it was outstanding -- as good as the first time, which was superb. I am a retired U.S. diplomat who has traveled all over the world, eating Indian food in India as well as London and elsewhere. Chaska's dishes are delicious, sophisticated and unique, combining flavors and combinations I haven't seen elsewhere. For example, today we ordered the Bagara Baingan, an eggplant dish we have often enjoyed, and Chaska's version featured eggplant that was ground up and then recooked in a delicious sesame/peanut sauce. It made an old favorite even better! We also had wonderful aloo gobi (cauliflower/potato) and paneer (cheese) and pepper. Last time we enjoyed chicken tikka masala, always a favorite, and a delicious peri peri chicken dish. Was recommended this place by a friend. So glad I went! First off, the vibes are great. Wonderful Indian-inspired decor, the seating all matches, there's a big window into the kitchen and they make kebabs or something right there and it's Smokey and fun. Spoons were on the table in clay jars and there were dry flowers on the table and it just looked like a lot of work went into the atmosphere. Food-wise; wonderful. The menu itself was full of so many Indian classics with fun twists. I wanted to try everything. The appetizers alone had me in such a chokehold and my mom and I kept going back and forth on what we would try. We settled on the polenta calamari. It was good! Not the best calamari I've ever had, definitely on the chewier side. But the lightly fried calamari paired with the tamarind dipping sauce (I think that's what it was at least) was just so good! The naan bread was also a standout. So fluffy!! 10/10. I liked my saag paneer a lot, and again it wasn't the best saag I've ever had but it was still really good. I did try a bite of my mom's chicken korma and wow!! I might get that next time, unless I'm swayed by another one of their creative menu items of course. I also had a bite of the chili cauliflower and I thought that was also really, really good. I'd definitely come back here! The service was also great! The waiters were all very attentive and good at keeping our water filled and asking about our dinner. When they delivered the check in a cute little wooden box with an elephant painted on it, I was a bit disappointed that there was only the check inside, and no little candies or anything. I came here for a really early dinner on Christmas Eve and it was fantastic! The service was top notch- my water glass was never more than 25% empty and we were checked on throughout the night, but not at all in an overbearing way. The interior decoration is really nice and cozy. The food is great too, and the lamb seekh kebabs were to die for and the chicken korma was really good, although it could have been spicier. The place is small but nice and outdoor seating available if weather is good. We were quickly sat down and service was great and very attentive. We ordered mango lassi and samosa chaat to start and it was very tasty. First time trying samosa chaat but would definitely try again. For main, we had chicken tikka masala and garlic cilantro naan. Both were great. Chicken tikka masala and naan were very flavorful and delicious. Rice was not quite enough to finish with chicken tikka masala so garlic naan was great addition to finish up with the dish. Overall, the experience was great only few thing that could have been better was that chicken tikka masala I would have liked it more creamy. Tomato was a little overpowering from what I was used to. Such a pleasant experience ~ right from the start, staff was kind, refilling our water every chance they got, grabbing our empty platters, and prepping our table setting when the entree came our way. Had a great lunch here recently and got to enjoy one of the last warm days of summer by sitting on their patio. The restaurant is tucked into a corner of Garden City. Plenty of parking if you're willing to be patient. Very good menu with some inventive, unique dishes. My chili cauliflower appetizer was so good. Not too sweet and had lots of Indian flavors. My meal was really incredible- the paneer and pepper masala had nice hints of roasted peppers and the sauce was so thick and flavorful. The cilantro and garlic Naan was just fantastic. It was generously coated with garlic and the bread was so soft and fluffy. I also tried the ginger lemonade mocktail, which was a little sweet for me but a nice complement to the heavier flavors. This is one of our favorite places, to eat, outdoors, in the warm weather. We have been going there almost every Friday for many years. The food and people who work there make it a lovely experience. The last Friday we went there were reed diffusers in the bathroom. They were never there before and are unnecessary. In fact they are a liability and health risk to many people with different disabilities. I let them know that they make me very sick and to please not use them. They removed them. We returned the following Wednesday and the diffusers were back. I was so sick from it I wound up stuck in the bathroom for almost an hour in severe distress. I have been very sick all week from this. I don't think the person who said he was the manager understood the severity of this. People with disabilities are protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act to have equal access to places. These products are a barrier to that access. Please do not put fragrances of any kind in the bathrooms. Thank you. read more

I was a bit skeptical initially, considering how some of the comments were around how Chaska is modern Indian food/fusion and don't serve authentic food. But we decided to try it anyway. Wow, I don't know what's authentic anymore, the food we got is the best Indian food we had in a very long time. Chaska simply stands out in terms of both food and service. We made an online reservation before coming although we went after the peak lunch time. But this will be very helpful for dining in at peak times. The lunch portions are available until 3 pm, so we could opt for lunch options. Their menu has allergens clearly listed out and is great help for people who have allergies and eat vegan/vegetarian. The employee who helped us with the ordering was so sweet (I can't remember meeting an employee who is so knowledgeable of the menu like him in the recent time). He gave us very helpful suggestions and helped us with the spice level. We ended up ordering a few mocktails, lassis and a cocktail. The appetizers we tried are cauilfower 65, grilled paneer and chicken 65. We also ordered vegan garlic and onion/chilli naan, roti, jackfruit kofta (so innovative and yum), veg kadai (omg, I am still drooling), and chicken biriyani and chicken kadai. The best thing is we could specify the desired spice level and we could also specify how we wanted the gravy (like less creamy). We loved everything and didn't have room for desserts. But their dessert menu is equally impressive. I read that this place is owned by the same people who own many other Indian restaurants in Providence. My family and I had a great dining experience.
