Rasa beats any Indian restaurant in the area - RI and MA. I never have a bad meal. Anytime I'm in the area, I always stop by and get the veg thoran with lemon rice (which is vegan and gluten free!). Rasa is one of our 'go to' local spots. Located on Main St. parking is 'on street' or in a public lot nearby. There is one on-street handicapped spot on the corner, about a block before the restaurant. Plenty of crosswalks along Main St. A hostess will seat you. The front window wall opens fully to allow for an 'outdoor seating' feel while still indoors. Seating is a mix of tables, booths or at the bar. The menu includes courses from appetizers to desserts with a full bar. All menu items are based on Indian cuisine so if you aren't a fan of the spice pallet maybe not a good choice for you? However, the spice level is pleasant and there are many options including curry, byria, Korma and masala. We have enjoyed every dish ordered at Rasa. I love their tea options and the variety of protiens from Lamb to tofu. Soup, salad, naan, samosas. Even if you don't count yourself a 'fan', you'll probably find something here to try. Restrooms are located at the back, one for each with a diaper station in the ladies (tbf, I didn't look in the men's room so there may be one there too). The staff are always pleasant. If you remember - make a reservation ahead of time for a weekend dinner! Rasa is always busy on the weekend and for a good reason! The staff is always so nice even though you can tell they are slammed and working so hard to get everyone what they need. The restaurant isn't super large and can be kind of loud depending on where you're sitting so just keep that in mind. We ordered the grilled salad one with chicken, the other with paneer. I can see why people would like it but the char on the lettuce wasn't my favorite but the rest of the salad was yummy. Dinner was onion chili and garlic cilantro naan - always good options, if you're looking for a sweet one the date or ginger naan are soooo good! I got the lamb curry and my husband got shrimp curry. I'd been to and really enjoyed Chaska and I saw they are owned by the same person/group. Since there was a $5 off Black Friday special, I decided to try this restaurant. The menus were very similar. I started with mushroom soup and lamb samosa. The samosa were so flavorful and both dipping sauces were excellent. The mushroom soup was on the bland side and needed maybe some salt or spice. It was still pretty good and I liked the coconut flavor of the broth. The chicken tikka masala was tender but the flavor wasn't as good as it was at Chaska. It needed some more creaminess or time to "come together". Service was excellent and the space was cozy. I parked on the street a couple blocks down and enjoyed walking the town and seeing the nice window decorations for the holidays. Updating my review because it's been awhile. I love eating at Rasa, the menu makes it easy for our vegan family members to have a lovely dinner with the non-vegan family. Quality of food and delivery were great. Unfortunately, the dishes are mostly way too salty. One of the lamb dishes was almost too salty too eat. Please lay off the salt. It's been a minute since my last visit to Rasa. I'll start by saying I love all of the restaurants that the owners run, Chaska, Rasoi, Kabob and Curry and Rasa are always great choices and each is a little different. We'll get right to the food (most important) then I'll talk the service etc. Ginger Honey Naan: this was our starter, the flavors were top notch. If you're a ginger fan, I highly recommend. I would say I have had better Naan at some other restaurants, this one was a little under done for my preference and didn't have that nice crispness to it. Saffron Chicken Kebab (dinner portion): you know how portions seem to shrink and the price just keeps going up everywhere, well, not here. I have a big appetite and this dish gets huge value points. No exaggeration there were 2 full chicken breasts worth of chicken on my place that were wonderfully tasty and tender from their yogurt saffron marinade. That dipping sauce, whatever black magic they have going on in there is delicious. Use all that up and use it for the rice if you have any left, or drink it. The little chickpea cucumber salad they put on the plate was cute, it was a funny portion size compared to the rest of the dish. I wish there was more of it but I was in no position to complain seeing that I was stuffed from all the other good on the plate. Now for the other details: We visited on a Tuesday night right after work and were kindly greeted and quickly seated. The restaurant wasn't very busy but filled up when we were getting towards the end of our dinner, so I'd recommend a reservation for something around 6:30-7pm even on a weeknight. Service was solid throughout our dinner and I have zero complaints. I do feel as if the restaurant is a little dated compared to previous visits (it's been quite some time). I think some of their other locations got a bit of an update, I'm thinking Rasa might be next on their docket. But I don't really care about that, if the food is good, the service is good and I leave full, then I'm a happy customer. Loved it all! read more

I've enjoyed Rasa at every visit. The waitstaff is friendly and food comes out pretty quickly. I also find their prices to be reasonable and appreciate that they often have special deals depending on what night of the week it is. They have valet on busier weeknights which also makes dining easier. They put all the pickup orders right at the door, so you can grab it as soon as you walk in. Overall I feel like Rasa thinks through any hurdles their customers might face being on Main Street and does as much as they can to make it convenient. My go to's are pretty basic-- tikka masala and palak paneer. Both are always spot on and the spice level I prefer. My son is obsessed with their mango lassi and my husband also loves the samosas. What a fun date night! To start, there is a ramp that enters the building deeming it handicap accessible. The place is spacious but still feels quaint, great for family outings or date night in our case! It's along a cute street in EG, with lots of shops and other places to pop into along the route. Not pictured is the chicken samosas we started with because we literally inhaled them lol so delicious. We then got the saag tofu and lamb curry, proving they have both vegetarian, vegan and meat lover options. The staff are super friendly and your water glass is never empty, which you chug when you're eating such flavorful food. I went on a trip here with my culinary class as an experience of Indian culture, and let me tell you they did not disappoint. Our server gave us a history on the food of India and how it tied into religion, as well as let us learn about the spices they used in the kitchen. He was very patient with our large party. As for the food, it was amazing. There was not a single item we ordered that I didn't enjoy. Everything was incredibly flavorful. The Mango lassi was thick and wasn't overwhelmed with just the mango flavor. The tikka masala was well seasoned and the curry had a really good kick, the chicken tender. We told them it was one of our teacher's birthdays, a running joke we do when we go to restaurants, and they brought us out cheesecake. Said cheesecake was soft and the mango sauce was sweet. I usually let my Yelp fingers do the walking but I had lunch today with a local (my very good friend Van P.). When I mentioned that I didn't have a plan for dinner, he asked if I liked Indian (it's my favorite!) and pointed me to Rasa. I arrived at about 7:30pm with no reservation (does anyone take reservations for a table of one?) and they were able to seat me immediately at the bar. Sitting on a bar stool (with a back, thankfully), I was wonderfully taken care of by Janak. The bartender, he was also very busy with muddling mint, crushing fresh blueberries, pouring house vodka and shaking martinis. Once the rush ended, he was able to talk and it was super sitting at the bar after all these months of pandemic lockdown. Fabulous service! I got the Cauliflower 65 to start. I've only had this as a chicken dish, so it was an interesting change. More sweet than hot, I enjoyed it and ate it all. I was now concerned that my main course would be lacking in heat. Chicken korma arrived soon after. A good portion of large pieces of white chicken in a large bowl with sauce. A big pile of basmati rice. And my chili and garlic naan. The chicken was excellent. Still quite hot from cooking, it had just about enough "go" to be spicy. Flavorful though some more heat would have made it absolutely perfect. The naan was fresh and just a little doughy. Parking in this part of East Greenwich is going to be a concern. I lucked out on a rainy Saturday night of a holiday weekend. This is only medium season. When high season starts, it's going to be tough to find a spot in this town. Some restaurants have valet. There are parking lots within a block on either side. Be prepared to wait a long time for your order...if you even get it. We pre-ordered takeout online. I placed the order at 3:30 PM and asked for it to be ready at 6:15 PM. We showed up at the restaurant at 6:33 PM and were told that it would be another 5 to 10 minutes. There were eight other people also waiting for their food. We were finally called at 7:35 PM that our food was ready, yet when they checked the order, they realized that they had given ours to someone else and didn't have our order at all. What??! They just came back from the kitchen and told us that they would refund our money and have the food ready for us in five minutes. It is now 7:48 PM, an hour and 33 minutes after it was scheduled to be out. What is the point of ordering ahead if they aren't going to have it ready when they say they will? Super frustrating, especially since parking is such a hassle on Main Street. The reason I gave them three stars instead of two was because they did the honorable thing by refunding us and still completing our order. Their food is delicious, but we will take a long pause before ordering takeout there again. If you can't handle the amount of orders coming in, then shut down online and phone orders until you can catch up. read more
