Great food! I have only gotten delivery from Curry Walla (at least 10 times now) and it's always great. They are one of the few places with butter chicken and have some serious spice if you want it. I love spicy and always get medium and it has more than enough kick. Great portion sizes. I've tried all of the naans and all are great. It does take a bit for delivery but that's ok just order that knowing it will probably be an hour. read more

Best Indian food in Rhode Island (northern Indian style at least)! I know because I've tried almost all of them (RIP curry kitchen), and curry walla wins for flavor by a mile; I've tried most of the veg options and the shahi paneer is my favorite but they're all good. They have sit down, but this is mainly a takeout place - my only suggestion would be to add an extra 15-30 min to the suggested pickup time if you want food to be ready when you get there. Prices are also extremely reasonable for the amount of food you get! I hope curry walla sticks around for a long time because it's my number 1 go-to for takeout read more

Wow, what a find, this little Indian restaurant is very big in flavor and was an unexpected find in North Providence. The Mulligatawny soup was a spicy fireball of lentil bean goodness; I have to say it was extraordinarily delicious, can't remember having one as good. The vegetable Samosas were perfect, crispy, hot out of the fryer; bursting with flavor. The Rogan Josh was simply devine; the lamb was fork tender, suitably spicy and exactly what you'd expect from an excellent curried lamb dish. This is located in a plaza so you might just pass by it without knowing. But I've been here a few times. The staff is nice and the food is yummy! There's usually just one person working but even so the food comes out pretty quick. Ive ordered a good amount of dishes here before. My favorite it the malia kofta. It's a really good dish. Well we are done! Every single time we have ordered take out it has either taken forever, they lose the order or its messed up. Today we ordered using thier online order system. They "lost" it, I had used Eat Street link on thier Yelp page; so once again my husband had to wait and additional 12 minutes, yes he did time it. When he came home and unpacked the order we saw the dessert I ordered Keer for $4.79 in a tiny 2 ounce solo cup. My Lamb Seekh Kebab; the lamb was good but onions and peppers we RAW $20.39. Very very good Indian food!! Been going here for years and it's nice to see options for people in North Providence who don't want to have Italian American food all the time. The staff is very friendly and so welcoming! I do recommend the Chicken Tikka Tandoori! But their spice levels fluctuate often. I usually get medium spice, and sometimes it's medium in heat other times I order medium spice, it's very spicy to where my mouth burns with flavor lol. I ordered takeout from here recently - peshwari naan, medium spice chicken tikka malasa, & medium lamb roganjosh. Portion sizes were good - was able to have 2-3 leftover meals from it. Both entrees were creamy but lacked a bit of flavor and didn't have enough meat to justify the prices. The naan was good. The restaurant itself was spacious and had a bar area. Better prices and portions compared to other Indian places. The Veggie samosas were the best I've had and the highlight to me! They come with 2 an order. Rice comes with the curries and they give a decent amount of ck unlike other places that jip you and it's mostly just curry sauce. There's Enough parking here and Staff was Friendly and quick to help me. I've only ordered takeout here once but the place looks like a decently Clean restaurant. Curry walls is a really nice place for North Indian cuisine in Providence. Though a little away from downtown, the 15 min drive to the place is all worth for. The only thing that I don't like about dine-in there is slow service. They do a lot of to-go orders, and hence probably fine--in is quite slow. To save some time, we used to call them and place a partial order when we start driving there. Food. I love their daal makhani and would order it with onion kulcha. This combo is heavenly. My friends and colleagues also really liked it, so be it dine--in or uber eats we would always order these. The food is home like but could be oily sometimes. Overtime, I have tried their dal fry, pulao (steamed veggie rice), bhindi, Shahii paneer, Aloo paratha, samosa, garlic naan, saag paneer, a huge amount of their menu. The only thing I don't recommend about this place is cocktails and Biryani. They can give you a straight drink but highly likely mess up the cocktail. I grabbed lunch here last week. We are new to the neighborhood and was excited to try a nearby spot. Ordering was simple, and for pick up I walked in and there was a bag with my name on it waiting. Which was cool but also was weird because nobody was out front and I don't know if anyone saw me come in and grab food - I don't know I mean it was mine, it just still feels weird to walk into a business and take something and leave even if I have paid for it. The garlic naan was delicious - lots of garlic! And I like the spices on the outside of the samosas - it was a lil salty and I dig it. We also shared the Chicken Tikka Masala. It was a little mild in flavor and almost sweeter than what I'm used to. I didn't entirely love it for lunch - but I devoured it hours later for a late dinner straight from the fridge. As we continue to try to support local restaurants and we opted tonight to check out the only Indian establishment this end of North Providence. We did a take out meal starting with onion bhajis and poppadoms, which were freshly prepared like entire meal. Of two entrees the Chicken Tikka Masala hit the mark for aroma, flavor and coloring! My entree the Tandori Chicken was a bit lacking in the tandori spices but it was well cooked and presented. Also we enjoyed a side of Tandori Roti(bread) . Came here for a night out with family and friends. Everyone recommended this place because they ate there before but it was my first time. I ended up getting the lamb korma and garlic naann I specifically asked for no cilantro but of course they put cilantro, vile weed!. The service was extremely slow we were waiting at least an hour to get our food. The poor guy was doing everything from busing the tables to cooking. They definitely need more help but I don't think that the food was very tasty so I doubt I would be back. Bonuses are it's in a location where parking is very easy. And it's close to a main street so there's that. If they can get more help I'm sure it would be a good place to eat at though read more

Wow, terrible kitchen management. I called in a pick up 7pm on a Tuesday was told it'd be 40 minutes. When I went to pick it up there were a handful of food delivery people waiting with me. Everyone was told 20 minutes longer. I was told it'd be another 40 minutes! I said 'Ok! I'll come back!' (I live pretty close, so annoying but do-able.) I came back in an hour and he remembered me from before and said he didn't think I was coming back and they didn't have the food anymore-did I want to wait longer for it? Um no. No apologies of any kind, just kinda blankly looking at me. (They probably never even made the food.) I could see about 4-5 people in the back working on food orders... so it looked like they weren't super short staffed. You place your order online and after that I received a phone call telling me it would be 35 minutes. He was outside in exact 35 minutes! I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala (spicy) and it was just spicy enough to make my nose run. The chicken was so tender I could cut it with my spoon. The sauce was creamy and delicious. Perfect! My boyfriend got the Rogan Josh (spicy) He said it was nice and spicy and very good. This was my daughter's first time having Indian food and she got Chicken Tikka (medium) She liked it very much! I tried a piece and it was as spicy as mine but she didn't think so. We tried the Garlic and Chicken Naan and the chicken was the winner. Garlic was still yummy. Curry Walla. Even the name is kinda fun, but their food is even better. The chicken Korma was beautifully made in a sauce redolent with, typically cashews, but they may have used almonds. I'm not sure, but it was divine. Unlike other popular curry perfumed joints that seem to rest on their buttered naans, they don't scrimp on their portions and charge you an exorbitant amount. The tender chunks of white meat chicken in a sauce that I could bathe in. (Give me a break! You've never seen a yellow Parrish before?) I also tried the Vindaloo. Now usually, when I lived in India (yes, Parrish has had a sordidly fashionable career), their Vindaloo was so hot you'd sweat under your eyes. This one was geared for...well, shall we say "cats". Ahem. Bring on the heat, I say! That was my only concern or make a variety of heat levels. Now let's get onto the base of everything - Rice. Their rice is so fluffy and fragrant that you just want a steaming bowl for a lovely facial placed in front of you so you may dream of Raja's and Rubies. Curry Walla isn't too far from my home. I really enjoy the fact that they offer so much on their menu. I ordered through our beloved site, Yelp. We tired the onion bhaji, pappadom, rasam soup, naan bread basket, butter chicken, rogan josh and for dessert the gulab jamun. Let me tell you, there was PLENTY, like we each had our fill and had enough for two more days. We opted to try a few new dishes that we had never had before, one savory (butter chicken) and one extra spicy (rogan josh). The butter chicken was delicious, not too sweet and just savory enough. The naan was a huge amount and very well seasoned. My favorite was the onion bhaju. I found both the rasam soup, and rogan josh to not be spicy at all, maybe a hint of heat but nothing like I thoroughly enjoy. Each item on yelp/grubhub gives you the option to choose the level of spiciness, so there should have been no mistake. Another thing that really bothered me was they have three different sets of prices, grubhub and their pamphlet. I grabbed a pamphlet on the way out the door while grabbing my takeout order. The difference between their pamphlet and yelp was $10, only one item was the correct price. When I inquired about it via yelp message they responded promptly that I could order over the phone and get the pamphlet price. Maybe it's a reward for making the effort in trying to pronounce everything correctly. I did let them know that they should correct the prices on their website and on Yelp. Will I try them again, yes. I will certainly call over the phone or order in person. It's just frustrating as a customer to feel ripped off. read more

This place is so underrated. I honestly believe it is the best restaurant in North Providence, and is certainly the best place on this side of the Prov area. You would not guess it from the location, this place is truly a hidden gem. I have a few friends who are Indian food lovers who swear that this is the best Indian they've ever had. The staff is also super friendly every time we go there. I love that you can pick a spice level for virtually anything. Mild has just a hint of spice. Spicy is for folks who love a reasonable amount of spice. The levels above that are for true spicy lovers that like a little pain with their pleasure. Every single dish I have tried from them is just excellent. The naan is always fresh and exceptional. The rice dishes are all fantastic, the biryani is so flavorful. The samosas are the perfect combination of salty, buttery, and savory. The butter chicken is SO tender. Gobi manchurian, which is cauliflower or chicken battered and fried and rolled in a sweet & sour sauce is my current obsession. I don't even like cauliflower and I love it. The chicken karahi with onions and peppers is exactly what you imagine when you think of indian street food. The chicken 65 is what a general tso's chicken aspires to be. Most orders come with a large container of sweetly scented white rice that's lovely. If you're agonizing over where to eat tonight, you can't go wrong with this place. read more

The kitchen brought us a complementary Khakhra with four dipping sauces, which was just enough before I had my Lamb Biryani married with a side of mixed Vegetable Raita -great combo- highly recommended. We also had Garlic Naan and Chicken Samosa for the table with Lassi Mango to drink. Their plates are very generous, I had plenty of left overs giving that I walked in with an empty stomach. Small place has a nice vibe, well organized with Indian music playing in the background. I want to give this place a better review but I'd be lying. The place was empty & we were the only customers. My teenager wanted to try Indian and that's how we ended up here. During our time here, there was one take-out order. As we were finishing up, another couple entered to have late lunch. The place was clean, neat & the older man who was our server was very sweet & accommodating. However, I did not enjoy the food. I loved the little sauces they bring out in the beginning but that's about it. I wish it was packed with a little bit more flavor but it was terribly bland to me. I would have given 3.5/5, but I'm rounding up because I think this place could have some serious potential. Firstly, if you check-in on yelp, you'll get 5% off and that's the best (who doesn't love a discount). The menu has many options and you're bound to find whatever you want.. whether that's chicken, vegan, pork, rice, etc.. I went with the butter chicken because that my go to when determining whether or not I'll be back. I asked for mild because sometimes the spice level can be very hot (even with mild) and there mild means mild/bland. I don't think they even added any spice to the sauce, but the base was good. I ordered the naan as well for dipping and was very happy with it. The food heats up very well the next day. Will I be back, probably not... it wasn't great, but at the time, it did hit the spot. Spoilt by living in NJ/NY for 8 years where the Indian food is amazing. Husband is also Indian so we eat a lot of Indian food. We have tried a number of places in RI. Honestly none of them come close to NJ/NY, but this delivery order was the most disappointing of them all unfortunately. I'll start with the good: The garlic naan was excellent. I also loved that nothing was very oily, felt a bit healthier. The bad: The manchurian was just gobi. Was expecting the little deep fried balls but it was just battered cauliflower and pretty mediocre sauce. The malai kofta was flavorless. I asked for medium spice which per Indian food standards should be pretty spicy. It was zero spice. The patties were also kind of an unpleasant consistency though I did appreciate they put a lot in. The chicken vindaloo was average. The chicken was very good quality, tender, lots of pieces. We got this dish cause my husband likes to blow his face off with spice and vindaloo is traditionally very spicy. However, this was definitely only a mild spice. Overall everything kind of fell short of those bold, spicy, delicious Indian flavors we were craving. read more

Used to love this place, but recently, customer service has not been great. They recently messed my order up after I waited 55 minutes for it. Mind you, I ordered ahead 30 minutes and still had to wait almost an hour at the restaurant. I called when I got home and realized something was off with the food and was hung up on by the manager. I unfortunately had to drive back to the restaurant with the food that tasted sour and wierd. They didn't give me a refund for the inconvenience or any sort of sincere apology. We have gone to Curry Walla a couple times now. The food is OK (3 stars) and far from phenomenal for Indian fair. I would suggest that Rasoi and Kabob & Curry are stronger restaurants in this category. My wife describes the food as one note. The Tikka Masala is creamy but doesn't have the complex base of spices that really makes the dish sing. The vindaloo was similar. At least the papadums were nice and crisp and the naan was pretty good. We liked some of the interesting options on the menu that aren't typical of Indian restaurants, including the street food section. And the food is far from bad - just not great. The service is also mediocre with a relatively uninterested waiter with flat monotone demeanor serving you. Maybe this restaurant just needs an injection of passion into it. Hard to say, but it's unlikely we'll be back for a while, especially with much better options available. read more

If I could leave more than one 5-star review of Curry Walla, I would. My girlfriend and I love Indian food. There's a good chance we've tried every Indian restaurant in Providence, and we've eaten at all of the Indian restaurants around RI that are in the Rasoi group (if you're familiar). Curry Walla is hands down our favorite. We usually get one app--often the veg pakora--two entrees, and a naan. We have always found the curries to be rich in flavor, fresh, and exciting. The naan is hot, fragrant, and soft. It really is one of the most exciting dinners we have, any time we go there. If I were to offer two recommendations, the dal makhani and butter paneer blow us away every time. And the portions are generous. We usually end up with half of our food left over for lunch the next day. To top all that, the staff knows we're regulars, and often will drop a free dessert in the bag for us; just a testament to the kind of business this place is. I don't know what happened to the folks who have left bad reviews, but our experience has been nothing short of fantastic. I have seen some people saying they felt the food was under-seasoned. I don't know what or how they ordered, but I will note that Curry Walla will make your dish with the level of spice you ask for. We usually get medium and that is fine for us, but your mileage may vary. Only caveat: We have not dined in there, so I can't tell you what sit down service is like. But we love the food! read more

MORE PEOPLE NEED TO GO HERE! This is my favorite Indian place blows everything else out of the water. I highly recommend the briyani both the vegetable and chicken versions are great. If I am looking for something saucy I get the tikka masala or the butter chicken (butter chicken is good if you aren't crazy about spice). For appetizers I love the Gobi Manchuria (fried cauliflower) The only complaints I have is that sometimes food takes a while to come out but they seem understaffed at the moment probably because it is not consistently busy.
