Great place for a show although getting there can take awhile given the location in the midst of an upscale neighborhood with only a couple ways in/out. The venue itself has tiered, very comfortable, metal benches with backs and there's lots of legroom so even if you're in the middle, it's an easy stroll where you're not stepping on people's feet and kicking over drinks by accident. Would definitely see another show there. read more

The venue looks nice. it was not a good experience. The whole show involved constant talking and jumping row to row by people in rows in front of us.. if they had any consideration for people around then it would have been a great show with Paul Simon. A friend told me this place is known for that. All I saw were a group of entitled drunk people. That's sad For others who would actually have liked to hear him sing. I heard one drunk guy say he'd been to hundreds of shows there. You'd think he would know how to act at one by then. read more

Prepare for a long walk in and out. The way your experience goes will determine how much you remember or enjoy that walk! We hiked in from down the street to avoid parking. The walk in was fine. We were full of energy and ready for the show. Then we walked out in a deluge. It was pouring, and we still had fun. What a memory! We enjoyed half a concert at the amphiteatre, and we have two scheduled for this autumn. The first concert was great. It was easy to get in. The staff was helpful. There were enough drinks vendors. We sat on the lawn for this concert. They had some built in step-seats which made it a bit more comfortable, though it felt a bit corralled or gated in. The sound was good, clear, which is challenging for this type of outdoor venue. The staff did a great job handling the rain. They gave it a chance to blow through and as soon as they realized that wasn't going to happen, they got us moving. They were firm, polite, and efficient in what could have been a stressful, disappointing situation for many. read more

Regret is not my middle name so after missing the concert of KALEO in CO, I found out that he was playing in my home state! Purchasing tickets was not a question. I was fine with row BB at the back of the amphitheater. Luckily, I scored free tickets at the venue in row 8 in the front and center!!! After a week of reality, this was a much needed intimate moment with a musician I love to hear smoky sounds vibrating through the air!!! Saw a concert here not long ago and found this to be a pretty nice venue. Good view of the stage from just about anywhere, polite staff, clean facilities, easy to get in and out of, and nice acoustics. A little warm in the summer but that's to be expected with an outdoor venue in the south, and there were lots of spots set up for concessions so no long lines to get that drink you might need to cool off a bit. 5/5 would do it again. read more

We came here for the first time for a a concert recently and it was wonderful! We parked in one of the neighborhoods close by of super nice houses and had no issues. It was a short walk past The Chastain restaurant (great place to go pre-concert, which we didn't do this time). We saw kids hustling in the houses across the street charging for parking. Parking in the paid lot itself gets you stuck afterwards in a long line as we witnessed when we were walking right by cars after the show. Once at the gate (Gate 2), it was a breeze as we had no bags so we bypassed that whole security process. Our seats were right in the middle midway up and it was a great view. There is a pit section that is flat and then a good stadium tier back from there. I was impressed as there is so much leg room, I know they have tables there sometimes so if it's a concert without tables, you'll have tons of room. I did not get any concessions or use the restroom so nothing to say there, maybe next time. I loved the acoustics in this place and the fact that it is in the middle of a residential neighborhood. read more

Came to this venue from out of town to see The National last week. It can be a little complicated to get there and to leave via Uber given the traffic and crowd but there is a designated area which was a bit helpful. The amphitheater was organized and all the staff I encountered were kind and helpful. The food and drinks were reasonably priced for concerts, they'll always be a bit more pricey since it's a concert. The merch area was also organized. The long lines moved quickly and efficiently. Bathrooms were spacious so you never had to wait since there were many stalls. The seats were great in the orchestra level but it seems no matter where you are in the venue you'll have a decent view. The sound system was pretty good but at times too loud and the voice would sound a little muffled. I know it's a bit in nature so it's dark but a little more light would have been nice around the amphitheater. Since it was later in the evening, there was a bit of a breeze which was enjoyable. All in all a good place to catch a show! read more

We came for a Blue October / Goo Goo Dolls concert. Blue October is my favorite band... I have seen them 5 times now and every time it has been a blast!! My whole family likes them... my youngest likes to play their song Coal Makes Diamonds on repeat. What a great venue... a good sized location that honestly all of the seats are good in accept the ones on the floor. Those are all flat and if your back a few rows it would be very hard to see. Food and drink were what you would expect... expensive and mediocre. But we got here early enough that we were able to get in line and get drinks fast and not have to wait. I don't drink any more... 7 months alcohol free now... but they had a canned water here for sale called liquid death... yeah I know... but it was a great water! And a interesting story... my gifs are fascinated by it. Our seats were great! We had a perfect view and the sound was spectacular. Blue October was outstanding as always. They were the opening act and what we came to see. It was an awesome time. And then The Goo Goo Dolls took the stage... you could tell this is who the crowd was here to see. Honestly it didn't make a lot of sense to pair these two bands together... pretty different styles... and for us... the Goo Goo Dolls sucked! Seriously they need to retire! I used to like SOME of their songs back in the day... way back, but now they are just flat and even my boys thought they were terrible. They said the singer sounded terrible! We left after just a couple of GG Dolls songs... The venue was great though. I would go and see another concert there in a heart beat. It was a good time and worth every penny! read more

I really enjoyed this outdoor venue. We purchased seats with a table to enjoy the dinner we brought. It is important to note, which you should know ahead of time as you purchased the tickets, that they sit 6 people to a table and the table is small. So you barely have enough space to put the food in front of you. 4 people will be seated on the bench and two on chairs right in front of the bench, it is very tight and all the tables/chairs are close together. We had a great view of the artist and the sound was good. The only real issue I had was that the concert was at night so during dusk the mosquitos came out and feasted!!! I would highly recommend coming here to see your favorite artists! read more

Came here for a Morgan Wallen concert. The concession area is well spaced out with many food options to choose from. The bartenders are generous with their pours, the lines for food/drinks/merch were all very quick and efficient, and they even had a custom mason jar cup with a cowboy hat on top for the concert. The drink was $22 but the souveneir cup and discounted refills made it worth it. They also have mobile vendors moving about through the lawn crowd selling beer and jello shots (which were a little warm but strong and still good). The crowds were friendly. My only knock about this place is that the pillars looking in toward the stage are pretty thick, so they can obstruct a good amount of lawn section's view. read more

I *mostly enjoy this venue. True rating is 3.5 for me. Pros: it's not huge! I like that you can take in food/drinks to some shows. They have some pretty great acts at a not-huge venue, which I appreciate. Ticket pricing is usually not as high as the Benz, State Farm, etc. Cons: it's sometimes hard to get clarity on which events you can take food/drink into. Website & ticket sites aren't always clear. When they do allow a table setup, it's almost impossible to walk down the aisles to get anywhere, it's too cluttered. The concessions are decent, but overpriced for what you get (by a lot). The merchandise area is tiny and creates a long line. If it rains, there's nowhere to go. And the parking is pretty awful. If the very small lots are full, you have to street park in neighborhoods & walk a long way. Attended the Anthony Hamiliton Concert here. The venue was a vibe. I recommend you arrive on time simply for parking. All the lots were full when I arrived and was left with no choice to park inside the neighborhood on the street. Nonetheless as you enter the venu there are lots of staff to ask questions if you need assistance with locating your seats etc. Additionally, the venue allows you to bring a cooler inside however concession is also open to purchase food and drinks also. We attended the National. First time I've been to this venue in almost 15 years. The concession and bathroom facilities have gotten a major upgrade which helps the experience. It's still an aging cement amphitheater in the middle of a Buckhead neighborhood, so traffic and parking can be a nightmare, and there's a firm curfew at 11PM. Last night's show wasn't sold out, and we were there more than 30 minutes before the opener started, so were "fortunate" to get a $30 spot next to the venue. The original part of the venue is aging badly The screens on the side of the stage are too small to be of any use, and in fact are shut off during the performance and only used to advertise between bands. The orchestra seats are pretty decent but if you are too low the seats are flat and you many be obstructed by the people in front of you. The band is loud enough but lacking the oomph you'd get in a venue not constrained by the neighborhood location. Drinks are insanely expensive ($12 pints?), so pre-game. Would we go again? These tickets were free, and so not sure we'd return except for a must-see band. There are so many better venues in Atlanta. Unfortunately this is one of the few outdoor venues not intended for 15000 people or more, and being able to see a handful of stars during the show was nice. Chastain Park Amphitheatre is terrible. I entered and they were worried about me having a tiny bottle of juice with me. That was surprising because they said that you could bring a bottle of water inside. Why would they confiscate juice during a heat wave? It's a very dated venue with very small seats. The man next to my seat had his arm in my seating area taking up a third of my seat. I never sat down. You shouldn't have to stand up because their seats are too small for the average person. I've never been heavy and I know my shoulders are wider than the seats. There are no arm rest on the seats either. So, basically you pay well over a hundred dollars for a ticket to be uncomfortable all night. The venue has very steep sloping heels. So, ladies no heels. Ironically, they allowed people to smoke like crazy in a non smoking environment. On my row, at some point 5 people where smoking and because there is a ceiling in that section it was causing people to choke. I reported this and the event staff person didn't care. I already knew parking was impossible from the reviews. So, I got a ride there early, but I was still caught in an terrible traffic jam. I had to exit the car and walk a half of a mile just to get to the venue line. Most likely I won't be going back to this venue. They need to remodel the entire place, fix traffic flow/parking, and enforce the no smoking ban before I even think about it. read more

We'd heard parking was a nightmare, and thanks to traffic got there later than intended, but got a spot in the car park that was just a few feet from one of the entrance Gates. Short wait in line to get drinks and easily found our seats, which were great, don't think there is a bad spot in the whole place, not that was obvious anyway. Metal seating but didn't find it uncomfortable and loads of leg room. Great concert (Culture Club with Howard Jones and Berlin) at a great venue. read more

I have passed up coming to this venue for a summer concert on many occassions! All i can say is I CANT WAIT TO COME BACK! We had a fabulous time jamming to the Ojays and Frankie Beverly/Maze. Our seats were perfect! Once the sun set it was even more amazing!! Usually alcohol makes some people act up. I had a great time at this park. August 18th was my first time visiting this park. It is in a very beautiful neighborhood in Buckhead in Atlanta, Ga and it was a pleasant visit. We went to see SWV, Jodeci, and Dru Hill on my husband's birthday. He enjoyed it too. We paid $30 for Parking in the nearest parking lot to the venue and we were about 20 feet from the entrance. There was parking a little further from the Park for $10 & $20 also but the least you pay then the further you had to walk. We purchased food and drinks for 2 for around $32. They had fast and friendly service also. The food was good and the fries are delicious. They had security also. I would recommend this park at any time. read more

I attended the Blues Festival at this venue on July 1st. I purchased a ticket for seating in Orchestra C row O seat 22. I had a good view of the stage from my area. At the venue, they do not check to make sure you are in your correct seat so if there are open seats in another area that's better then you can sit there without any issue. I do not recommend purchasing a ticket in the lawn area. It's not an actual lawn area with grass but rather it is an area with rocks and dirt. I almost purchased my seat in the lawn but so glad I did not! There are two small screens with one on each side of the stage. However, the screens were not on which I assume were not working that day. The venue allowed food and coolers to be brought in for this event but it has to be only when the venue specifies that it is permitted. You can bring food and drinks in even if you are sitting in a seat. You cannot bring in a large umbrella or a wagon. There is parking on the street or lots available to park for a fee of $30.00 which I think is too expensive! I found street parking with no problems. Tickets cannot be purchased at the venue. You have to purchase it online at LiveNation website. There are so many fees/charges that make the total ticket price costly! Also if you purchase your ticket online the day of the event, the ticket price increases by $5.00. Overall, I enjoyed myself and would attend another event at this venue! I just hope in the future they will start selling tickets at the venue rather than online or charge less fees when buying tickets online. read more

I'm so conflicted on this review and I'm not quite sure who's to blame but I have to give the 3 so others will be aware. PARKING IS THE WORST. We live around 10 miles away and it took us almost an hour and a half to park. I missed 3/4 of the opening act, who was actually my favorite. I almost cried as we drove around looking for parking, but only heard the artist from the parking lot. When my husband and I finally got in, everything was good, but the parking situation and lack of organization to get people inside is the worst. I've been to concerts at Chastain, but this event has completely turned us off. MY ADVICE, CATCH AN UBER/LYFT AND GET DROPPED OFF AS CLOSE AS YOU CAN. Just left the Lauryn Hill Concert with my husband and oldest daughter. It was a birthday gift for her. It was absolutely amazing!! The venue was very nice. We had great seats. The ushers were very helpful in showing us where they were. Being short it's nice to have so much depth between the rows so I can see the stage with people in front of me and since my husband is tall there's lots of leg room for him! Parking is a little expensive but despite that it was very convenient and easy to get in and out. We looked forward bring our own food and beverages and were disappointed when we found out this show wouldn't allow it. None the less we would definitely come back to see a show. We didn't buy any food from the vendors inside because we ate before we came, but the area where they are is very nice and inviting with many choices. Had we not eaten before I would have bought something. The bathrooms were nice and clean too and there are many stalls so that's always niceWe definitely recommend this venue. read more

First time at this ampitheatre & have to say I was impressed. Saw Robert Plant & the Sensational Space Shifters last night & as a whole the sound was superb. From what I could tell, doesn't seem to be an obstructed view in the entire place. At 6,900 patrons for seating, it's a pretty intimate space, so I'd recommend checking it out. The only drawback I noticed was the food is about average for an ampitheatre setting (hey, what can your expect?). Ingress/egress to the seats was simple & walkways between rows much wider than I remember at other outdoor venues I've been too. Overall, a great experience & would recommend this setting if you find your favorite act playing this place in town. read more

Josh Groban was awesome but my first trip there in 10 yrs was a major dissapointment. The place is run down and tired. It is also unsafe as walkways and stairs are unlit and covered in leaves and other debris. I missed a step on totally dark stairway to the parking lot and am now suffering the consequences after a hard fall. Guests should not have to rely on the light from cell phones to light their path. City of Atlanta or whoever overseas the amphitheatre and parking lots....get your act together and make this a safe venue with proper lighting, etc! I cannot be the only person who has been injured at Chastain. read more

Went to Steely Dan concert in June. Terrible sound, no high tech concert additions available. I have seen Steely in California a few times and this venue is the worst. Great concert of them at Shoreline Amphitheater years ago. So it is possible to stage a great event. Chastain needs to update the whole venue, including with today's technologies; Large video screens, excellent sound systems, some type of air movement devices as it was oppresively hot in the Pit section.. so hot that we left an hour early. Very poor concessions, crappy food, limited drink options, too expensive.. seems that whoever owns the venue doesn't have a clue how to run it. Last time I was there was in the 80s when the place wasn't as old and the technology was normal for that Era. Very sad to see it decline. read more

Fantastic venue! Our first concert here. We were surprised and happy we could bring our own picnic. Lovely!!! Restrooms were clean and well tended. Check in search was thorough, but friendly and very fast. We had a hiccup in leaving in that our phones died, so we couldn't get an Uber home. The taxi charged a small fortune and body parts....oh, well. As far as the venue; we will return again and again!!! read more

We went to see Jason Aldeen and although the concert was amazing everything else was horrible. We waited in traffic for almost 3 hours, and that was with buying premiere parking. There was no police (or anyone else) directing traffic. We got there early but missed the first act and the first part of Jason Aldeen. When we finally did park we went to the gate and was told that because we had VIP tickets we needed to go around to the West gate. We missed all the extras that we had paid for with the VIP tickets because it ended at 7:30 (when Jason Aldeen started). No one would help us even get the "swag" that was supposed to come with it. The drink that was supposed to come with the ticket was not even honored. Will not attend another concert here read more

Last time we were there, there were people giving rides to the entrance on golf carts which was nice! The seats at the concert are just concrete stands so bring cushions if you need to! 30 years ago this was the venue to enjoy a concert. Great ambiance, under the stars, great music with friends enjoying a homemade (often gourmet quality) picnic dinner. No Issues with parking, crowd control. Well that's all gone. Forget free street parking. Between the never ending construction and competing with the golfers, it doesn't exist. Paid parking fees are equivalent to NYC prices. The concert promoters like live nation have degraded the subtle southern charm with mass commercialism. Not to mention their police state like security staff that appears to enjoy the power trip of turning away ticket holders because they dared to take a sip of water from the sanctioned plastic bottle because it was no longer sealed. The vaguely posted "RULES" are not consistently enforced. Basically you're being forced to buy the insanely priced subpar concessions. Be prepared to wait on long lines and be greeted by folks who forgot what nice means read more

(1) If you do not bring your own food...which you are allowed to do...what they have is VERY expensive...and I mean beyond normal theater/venue pricing... I love, love, love this music venue. I love that it is a small amphitheatre tucked away in a residential area, there is ample parking whether in a paid lot or for free in the surrounding park, and that they have two concert formats - table set-up or reserved seating. The table seating is the coolest experience allowing you to bring in food and beverage and dressing up your table however you like. For me, Chastain is a must do every summer. It's like reuniting with a long time friend - you are guaranteed to have a great time. And, if the music doesn't entertain you, the people watching will! read more

I was so looking forward to attending Diana Ross' concert at Chastain. After purchasing the most expensive ticket I ever bought and driving an hour and twenty minutes to get to the venue, I (along with many others), was turned away by the police who were directing traffic. This was after we sat in a line waiting to park our cars for 45 minutes! The police said all the parking lots were filled and parking spaces on the street and in Chastain Park were gone. Why would Chastain sell tickets knowing customers would be unable to park their vehicles? I am so hurt that I lost the opportunity to see the fabulous Ms. Ross. However, it also hurts to know Chastain really does not care about concert goers; their goal is simply to fleece the public. As I watched the cars ahead of me leave Chastain and head toward the expressway, I thought this was a lesson I'll always remember. I will never buy a ticket for an event at Chastain. So I've seen quite a few concerts here and I've been smart enough (and lucky) to get seats in the front and actually enjoyed them. However, the screens are the tiniest screens ever so if you want to actually see the stage clearly, you have to be sitting close but if you are just there to listen to music and have a good time then it doesn't matter. The main reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because of the miniature screens. The concessions are a bit pricey but that's expected of any concert venue. The phone service SUCKS. There is absolutely no service inside the venue so take a screenshot of your ticket before you go in so you don't get lost finding your seat. Parking is $25 but you can also park along the street of Chastain Park for free if you get there early enough to find a spot (parking farther away is better because the traffic afterwards is crazy). Usually there's a T-Mobile fast lane for tmobile customers which is super handy. I've been here both for concerts with and without cooler/carry-ins allowed. For the ones where coolers are allowed, the tables come in handy and you can take in any food and beverages even. It's smart to take battery-needed candles, fairy lights, or some sort of small lights for centerpiece so you can see your food when it gets dark. The staff have been very friendly every time I've been so that is a major plus. read more
