    Sandwich no lettuce

Love the sign about not letting stupid people in the back. But beware. Check your order closely before you leave. I just ordered a hogie with lettuce, onions and extra tomato. Salt, pepper and vinegar. Took out the sandwich to eat it. NO LETTUCE OR ONION! Who makes that sort of mistake. No lettuce? Disappointed.

Anytime I am with my daughter near Asbury, this is our go to for breakfast. The classic egg and cheese on a hard roll is amazing!! Also, some of the smoothest coffee in town, seriously delicious.

Rude,Rude,Rude. When I first walk in I didn't know how I felt about a restaurant that sells food and deodorant and other things like that. Any ways they had rude service over priced food. Food was not worth the price . Food was okay but service was horrible. Employee had an attitude, no hello or goodbye. I will never come back, and I hope anyone reading this will never come. Pictures don't match on the website. No inside dining.

Dj's is a sweet little hidden away deli just off cookman. When you walk in it has a deli section and mini general store. They also have a fair sized dining / eating area on the other side of the store where we go to sit down to eat. We usually come here for breakfast and have always been delighted. Very sweet and funny staff. They are interactive warm and welcoming. You can also sit outside of the storefront which is nice. Always had a good meal here. Fruit Parfait was amazing!! It's worth checking out from the main stretch of town. Very reasonable meal. $10 person + :)

    Sweet beautiful coffee.

If you ever go to see wrestling at the convention center and get way more shimmed up then you planned, you're going to need to put something in your belly the next morning before the hour long drive home. We headed into the swanky side of Asbury Park to find coffee and food. We drove right by it and stopped a gay dude walking his dog and asked him where the spot was for breakfast in the AP. He pointed us down three doors to DJ's Delight. Now, I don't know if Asbury Park has a big gay community but this place had two big ole rainbow flags flying out front. If you're one of those types that is full of hate and can't appreciate two people finding each other to get through this whacky world together because they both have the same set up downstairs, then don't eat here. But once you're inside its not gay at all. You go into a deli area where deli type things are happening. The nice man with his dog was now inside and told us to walk through a door towards the back. We came upon a little grocery area. My man, we need coffee and grease. We don't need cleaning supplies and crackers. He kindly told us to go a little further til we emerged in a nice little dining room. From the looks of it, we thought we were about to eat a $22 breakfast. Then the lovely server brought us some menus and we saw it was priced nicely. Time to fix our hangovers. After about 2 seconds of reading the menu for the right weapon of choice to help us combat our poor decisions from the night before, we both noticed the Gut Buster. It's a bacon, egg, sausage and cheese. But whoa whoa whoa, that's not it. They throw on a friggin hash brown patty thing. Sweet mother of greasy hangover helper. This thing means business. It was the perfect combination of all our farm yard friends putting together their time and resources to help us in our time of need. Some even gave their lives. RIP and thank you. The home fries were also seasoned nicely and had the slightest kick to them. The only down side was the orange juice was freshly squeezed from a carton. I half thought this place might have had someone in the back squeezing oranges for my vitamin C pleasures. I think the 2 sandwiches, 2 coffees, 2 orders of hash browns, and a nice glass of OJ came to like $24. Hell, at that point it could have been &1,000,000 and I wouldn't have cared. On the way out I hit up a to go coffee for the ride. Careful!!! Those containers keep the coffee at about 600 degrees. I'm sure someone on here probably would have deducted a star point for that. Probably the person that said the owner wouldn't make the toast she ordered and threw her plate in the garbage and threatened to call the cops. I find that to be really far from the truth. And if it did happen, she probably left out the side of the story where she was acting a complete asshat of a fool over some toast. In conclusion, eat here!

Had a party of six from DC and California. The Californian tried the pork roll NJ experience for the first time. We were very impressed with the accommodating wait staff Morgan for getting us seated and served quickly. We were on a tight schedule and had to run to catch a flight. The food was excellent and freshly prepared the way you like it.

Even though they only opened at 5pm, there was already a lively crowd at 5:30. We started with Polpettine Di Pollo, organic chicken meatballs with bell pepper, garlic, spinach and pomodoro. The order was large and delicious! Piping hot as well. Carol chose the Pappardelle al Telephono Nostro, house made pasta, mozzarella, tomato-cream sauce and fresh basil. this was a large order and my wife loved it. I chose the Tortelloni alla Bergamasca, veal tortellini with black truffle and rosemary veal reduction. Excellent as well! Dessert consisted. of a shared Pistachio Creme Brulee that was perfect. The restaurant is BYOB and I recommend making a reservation. Our server, Khrystna, was superb

Case in point - this restaurant has apparently been in the downtown area for several years and I had no idea. I stopped by here for lunch on Memorial Day with the Millennial Chum, and in a totally risky move, didn't make a reservation anywhere and just decided to wing it. The Millennial Chum's only requirement was that it be a place neither one of us had been to before, so after a very quick search/walk, we noticed this place and also decided we had a hankering for Italian. Done. I don't know how to describe the interior, but "yellow" and "modern" comes to mind. This isn't a stodgy white tablecloth kind of place; it's vibrant and hip, I'm sure trying to capture that classic Asbury demo. Really unique. The weather was a little meh, which worked in our favor - although there was a decent amount of foot traffic in the downtown area 70% of which were pooches, only one other table was occupied in here. We were able to sit down and were served very promptly. We were both very intrigued by one of the apps on the verbal specials menu - mango burrata, which sounded like sort of a mess, but also worth a try. Definitely more of the latter. Never would have thought to combine these two ingredients together, but it was really excellent and an interesting palate pairing. The presentation was solid as well, and this...didn't last long, although given that we both ordered entrees perhaps we should have been more responsible in that regard. Something I'd recommend for the regular menu in the future for sure. A lot of the entrees looked interesting and pretty authentic; this isn't just spaghetti and chicken parm (I'm not actually sure either was even on the menu). The one that emotionally spoke to me the most was the Pappardelle (one of my fave pastas and always pleased to see it) Al Telefono Nostro. Really hit the spot, and as you can see a really hardcore portion. The tomato cream sauce was light and flavorful, and the only nitpick I had (just a personal palate preference) was the inclusion of the sliced tomatoes. I'm sure a ton of people love those, and it basically adds a level of authenticity to the dish that a barbarian like me just can't quite appreciate. I made sure the Millennial Chum had a few tomato pieces though. Really good dish and would order it again. Honestly not sure what possessed us to even look at the dessert menu much less actually order from it, but I thought Oreo Tiramisu sounded interesting, despite the Millennial Chum's yowling that she despised tiramisu. It turns out she doesn't, because once this dish arrived she happily helped herself and decided that her opinion on tiramisu was likely based on a traumatic/misleading childhood incident. Bare minimum, this place gets solid marks for rewriting history for her in the Italian dessert department. But it WAS delicious, which was a theme of our meal. The service was top-notch; our waitress was over regularly and had a strong command of the menu (which I think deserves bonus points, given that this was not Americanized and it helped to have a metaphorical lifeguard helping us navigate some of the trickier stuff; I studied abroad in Florence over 20 years ago, but you'd never know it). Very pleasant. BIg recommend; not a ton of establishments under the radar in Asbury, but this might be one of them.

I met up with my buddy Tyler from Foodula and we got the item I wanted...and then some! So the item I wanted was a meatball pizza that had meatball garlic knots as the crust. This would have been sufficient enough for anyone but ya know ... not us . We also ordered a pizza with cup and char pepperoni and chopped up mozz sticks on it where the crust was chicken vodka parm sliders. WHAT?!?! crazy. And maybe we added some wings. And uhh..maybe some thunder sticks. The thunder sticks were insane. Fried perfectly with great flavor and the cheese was perfectly melted. We had chil fil a flavored wings and also Thai chili wings. The wings themselves were cooked really well and had great juiciness and flavor. If I got these 2 apps I would have left perfectly happy. The pizzas were wild. I will admit in hindsight the mozz sticks on the vodka parm pizza were maybe a bit overkill on the cheesiness. Without them it may have been even better, but the cutlets were thin and cooked perfectly and the flavor was great. Both pizzas were a little doughier than I typically prefer but they had nice char and crispiness underneath. The meatball garlic knots were awesome. Meatballs had great flavor and texture. This place .. is not cheap. I do think what we had was worth the cost, but plan to spend more than you'd normally plan to spend on pizza here. With the bells and whistles comes dollar signs, I was okay with the tradeoff. Joe's Rotisseria - Didn't Suck!
