[[HIGHLIGHT]]The coffee and food were nothing super unique but the vibes inside were immaculate, very cozy and a classic taste of Vienna.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They are very busy so seating can get snatched up quickly, but they also turn off WiFi when it gets busy so computer campers leave.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I think their affogato would absolutely slap so I would like to return to try. I quite liked the turkey panini -- reminded me of one of my favorite turkey clubs in LA! They do have a small parking lot, which is an absolute godsend on Church Street.

Friendly staff, and great flavors, with fresh ingredients, pricing seemed fair. One critique is that while I did sit outside they served my omlette on a paper plate, still not enough to demote a rating. The cappuccino was in such a nice cup and plating that it felt odd to have a paper plate. Regardless, a satisfying breakfast.

Pistachio latte oh my goodness this was the perfect start to a vacation in Vienna. Just the right sweetness and plenty of pistachio. Ham and cheese croissant and avocado toast were lovely. Hope I can try the affogato one day.

Loved the pistachio lattes, and delicious breakfast options. Not the cheapest, but on par. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tight space eating inside, but the morning sunlight and ambiance was delightful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cute and quaint cafe in the heart of Vienna.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the avocado toast, French toast, and apple turnover. Food was good, the standout was the French toast. The avocado toast was nice, but very salty. My main gripe is prices are high. I ordered a speciality latte with oat milk which ended up costing $10, and it was overly sweet that I could not finish it.

Genuinely, this was easily among the best, if not THE best, ham & cheese croissant on this side of the Atlantic Ocean. To say I enjoyed my experience at Cafe De Vienna in beautiful Fairfax county, would be an understatement. This is such a classic location that prides itself on fresh ingredients, a limited menu, but fantastic quality and mastery of the ingredients the cafe utilizes. If I lived in the area I would make this spot a weekly visit like the majority of the locals who DO have the fortune of living in the area already frequent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The owner is super sweet and passionate and the service and cute nook cafe is relaxing and private for a date or a quiet breakfast or study.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Super recommended!

I don't usually leave reviews but my experience at Cafe de Vienna stood apart so I knew I had to. It's this quaint little coffee shop in the heart of Vienna with an extensive food, coffee, pastry, and gelato menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the moment I saw the Iranian art on the walls, I knew I'd love the place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The owner is the cutest little Iranian woman and she took the time to chat with me about life, Iran, and coffee while brewing my latte. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cafe de Vienna is more than a coffee shop- it's a cozy little place of gathering, good food, and brewing friendships.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Hope to be back soon!

It's cute, with a decent amount of seating inside and a small patio (but that is probably harder to snag on a nice day!) It's a little pricey but the avocado toast was bright, flavorful and I really enjoyed the balsamic drizzle - it was a good portion size and just tasted fresh and summery! Thank goodness tomato season is back! I think they might make their English muffins in house and the egg sausage and cheese breakfast sandwich was delicious - again just very fresh (nothing ruins a sandwich like stale bread and this tasted like it was made that morning). My cup of coffee was good - not bitter at all, so just a good drip coffee, but the honey latte that we got was just way too sweet for me and borderline to sweet for my husband, which is saying something. I do think they need to dial back the honey Would definitely return though!

Coffee Shop No. 524 Cafe de Vienna Vienna, VA July 16, 2025 The Last Stop... There's a cozy little café tucked in the heart of downtown Vienna--a town I lovingly call a true "Coffee Town." After visiting nearly every café here, Café De Vienna was the last stop on my list, and it couldn't have been a better finale. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Housed in what feels like an old family home, the café has a front yard with a single table, a few chairs, and a bright red umbrella[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Step inside, and you're greeted by exposed brick walls, an antique green coffee counter, and a warm, inviting charm that feels timeless.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I settled in with my book and smiled at the small plaques on the walls--"Poet's Corner" and "Writer's Table." It's the kind of detail that makes you want to stay awhile and create something of your own.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The barista and his partner were kind enough to make me a cortado, even though it wasn't on the menu. It leaned more toward a flat white, but that hardly mattered. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The kindness, the atmosphere, and the quiet hum of chatter as other customers walked in and out made it the perfect way to end my Vienna coffee journey.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

    Jessica P.

What a sweet gem in Vienna, the minute you walk in you are greeted so warmly and made feel right at home. I've been hearing the sandwiches are incredible! The little patio is so cute to enjoy a nice little snack or coffee. Definitely coming back!

    Grace K.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Really cute place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Has its own parking lot which is nice, and street parking. Went for the coffee and an avocado toast, they were both solid. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small space inside but it's an old house, very cute and cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not sure it's a place you can sit for very long since the seating is very limited.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathroom is all the way upstairs, along with other businesses/offices.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would go again.

A great little cafe in the town of Vienna. I walked by and decided to check it out. Ordered a croissant with ham and cheese. The cheese was imported from Switzerland and it tasted so much better than the grocery store bought. Since I can't drink coffee, the lady at the counter filled my thermo with hot water. I ordered the home made tiramisu to take home for hubby. Love this little place!

    Coffee Oreo Ice Cream (Small)
    Jo L.

FOOD I tried the coffee Oreo ice cream, which was deliciously creamy with a rich coffee flavor that perfectly complemented the Oreo pieces without overpowering them. Their other ice cream selections range from lavender, blueberry, and more. They offer a selection of other items (breakfast/lunch sandwiches, coffees and teas, and pastry items that generally sell out by midday). SERVICE The staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming! Free wifi is available (password upon request), but it is quite spotty. AMBIANCE This cozy café is the perfect spot for a rainy day. With about five window-facing tables, it's great for reading, catching up with a friend, or working remotely. There are also a couple of outdoor tables, ideal for enjoying nice weather. PARKING Limited street parking is available nearby, but there are also public parking lots by Town Green, just a couple of blocks down Church Street, near the W&OD Trail.

I was intrigued by the pastrami sandwich options on the menu and really appreciated that gluten free bread was an option, so I had to try it! I was not disappointed at all. The sandwich was hefty - packed with meat, and flavorful. I'm not sure I liked the pile of salad that comes on the side - it's a lot to finish for one person and seems a bit wasteful. The service was good, but the sandwiches did take a bit longer than expected to come out. That might not be the case for other dishes though. I would certainly visit again!

For example, yesterday, I had their Peter's Special, a sandwich made from 1/2 lb of pastrami and 1/2 lb of corned beef. Except that it's not "a" sandwich, but three, all on delicious rye bread, each with its own pickle, and a small helping of slaw, sauerkraut, and a major pile of salad. It was my lunch yesterday; the remaining two sandwiches are my lunch today and tomorrow. That's three meals for $30, which, to me, is a reasonable price. The problem was that the more they do to create the food, the less flavorful it is. For example, on another recent visit, I had their Country Style Omelet. Again, it was huge and contained everything that goes into a great omelet. Except, there wasn't a lot of flavor. And that seems to be the theme. I grabbed a slice of their 24-layer cake and, again, big but not much taste beyond sweetness. If you crave a lot of food, then this might be the spot for you. However, if you prefer less and more, smaller portions with better, more nuanced flavor, then maybe try one of the other nearby restaurants.

They offer a prix-fixe menu that changes seasonally (?) for brunch and dinner. The ingredients here are high-quality and well prepared and cared for before serving. I've heard great things about Maple Ave from a friends, so I took my family here for dinner this past Wednesday. We really enjoyed the creativity of how the dishes were crafted and plated here and the execution was also phenomenal. This time around, it was 59.00 per person for a 4-course prix-fixe dinner (two appetizers, one entree, and one dessert). Since there were only a couple options per section, we were able to try all the options they had. FIRST: APPLE HAZELNUT SOUP Creamy, pale colored soup with a thicker consistency similar to butternut squash soup. It was lightly sweet, yet savory at the same time. There were some pickled apples and toasted hazelnuts delicately sprinkled on top that added a bit of a crunch. The soup was unique and we enjoyed it. FIRST: ROOTCAKE Between the rootcake and the apple hazelnut soup, the rootcake was my favorite. The vegetables were caramelized and made into a patty, topped generously with almonds with some umami aïoli and pimenton sauce. The rootcake was so good. Each bite was hearty and rich, and it's such a unique way to prepare vegetables. The sauce enhanced each bite and the almonds provided a nutty texture. I would recommend the rootcake as your first option. SECOND: CRISPY SQUASH NUGGETS I didn't think I would enjoy the crispy squash nuggets as much as I did. The roasted squash is breaded with panko crumbs, sitting in some dill yogurt sauce and topped with some raisins and radish. The squash were perfectly seasoned and crispy with a soft interior that left my taste buds wanting more. The dill yogurt sauce was a good complement. I'd definitely recommend this option if you're not a fan of mushrooms and/or you want something more crispy. SECOND: WILD MUSHROOM RISOTTO One of the best mushroom risottos I've ever had. It's rich and creamy, filled with truffle flavor. The shiitake mushrooms had a dry, crispy texture. The manchego shavings on top were a great plus. The squash was used for coloring and probably some flavoring? Not sure. The whole thing was really good and memorable. I'd definitely recommend! THIRD: SHRIMP I'm not a huge fan of shrimp, but my family loved it along with the citrus braised fennel. I was a fan of the creamy semolina, though! Overall, it wasn't for me, but that's more of a personal preference. THIRD: PORK CONFIT STEAK The pork they used was pork belly (?) and seared very nicely, topped with perfectly crispy potatoes, mangoes (?), brown butter sweet potato puree and chimi churri sauce. The pork belly melted in my mouth but as someone who's not the biggest fan of fatty pork, I wish it was a leaner cut. The potatoes were so good and went well with the sweet potato puree. Even though I didn't love the pork confit steak, I'd recommend this entree over the shrimp. FOURTH: MOCK FRIED "APPLE" PIE It was zucchini instead of apple and you can't even tell. I loved the crispy pie exterior which was lightly topped with cinnamon. The vanilla bean ice cream was my favorite as it was creamy and smooth. The dulce de leche and lavender honey were nice touches. Very nice way to end the meal. All the food here were so rich with lots of complex flavors. Each dish was so beautifully plated with many vibrant colors. We were quite full after all the food we ate. I would recommend coming here with another person to try all the options they offer here! The food here is unique and well-executed, and I'd be open to come back to try a different seasonal menu.

We ordered the Poulet Gruyere ($12.10) without the cracked pepper...and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. They cut it it in half, exactly as I requested. This crepe was generously packed with chicken/mushroom/peppers/cheese consisting of intense flavors. While I appreciate the generous amount of filling in the crepe, the ratio of crepe to filling was a little off. The filling probably would have been easier to eat in a wrap form. Nonetheless, it was still very flavorful and I highly recommend it. They have an extensive menu including sweet/savory crepes, all-day breakfast, waffles, various beverages. There is definitely something for everyone. The cafe has plenty of seating (inside & outside), but I would assume it may be a little crowded if/when they get busy. The employees were very friendly and accommodating in that they gave us an extra cup with ice and split and plated the crepe. I thought it was cool they sell the crepe mix separately. There are plenty of outlets for anyone who needs to charge their devices. One thing to note, the cafe is located in a very tight and potentially busy strip mall. I ended up biking and there's a bike stand really close by. My friend was craving fish and chips, so we ventured out this way. Of course I had to partake, so I ordered the special pie, which was a masala, chicken, curry pie, and it was quite good. A bit small for the price point but with the beer included totally worth it also because their fries are so good. I could demolish over a pound of those fries. They were thick potato and maybe the extra added bonus of having to use a glass ketchup bottle added to it. My friend and I were also taught how to properly hit the ketchup bottle to get the ketchup out by the bartender. You find the 57 on the bottle at an angle and bump you palm there that instead of hitting the bottom and hoping and praying that ketchup comes out. It actually worked or at least it was more efficient than trying to hit the bottom of the bottle upside down. I had never had a hand pumped beer before, but it was quite good. The food arrived fresh, hot, and exactly as expected. The staff is always friendly and personable. You see professionals, students and the locals coming in and out, but there is seating available. Conversations are at a minimum and despite the attached restaurant you can still hear yourself and the other person without yelling. One thing I appreciate about Best Buns is the consistency. Whether it's been months or years between visits, the quality never seems to change. The sandwiches are flavorful, the ingredients taste fresh, and nothing feels like it was sitting around waiting to be reheated. Everything is prepared to order, and you can taste the difference.
