It took about ten minutes which I didn't mind waiting and people watching... I'm sure it's busy in the mornings but I went in the afternoon so it was a bit quiet. Basically plenty of seats around to lounge around and it's a chill place. The sandwich itself was amazing and delicious. It wasn't dry or bland! Great bread roll as it was crispy outside but soft inside to hug all ingredients inside. It came with a side of potato chips which was a nice surprise as I didn't expect any sides at that moment. I think Shilla is one of my favorite bakeries in the area! They have a wide variety of pastries with my favorites being the hotdog pastry, pork floss pastry, and mango cream pastry. The mango cream pastry has changed so much (changes in bread, cream to fruit ratio, etc.), and while I still really enjoy it, I definitely preferred the older iteration more. The prices are reasonable too! Service is fast, and sometimes they even offer to warm up your pastry! I'm sure you could ask too! Compared to other bakeries nearby, the vibe is much more chill and less noisy. It's a very simple and clean space and a good spot to do work. I recommend them highly! read more

This is my 2nd time at Shilla bakery, but first time at this location. Shilla bakery basically carries the same baked goods as the other 4-5 neighboring bakeries, but they are individually packed (which is a super plus for me). There were so many pastries and gorgeous cakes to choose from. The price point is also the same as the nearby bakeries. I was curious to try their Dubai chocolate pistachio latte or the pistachio cream latte given those are the latest craze, but I wasn't in the mood. Additionally, they didn't have the prices on the printed papers placed on the counter. They sell plain coffee, but it was way too overpriced to want to get. I only tried 2 pastries that I haven't seen elsewhere: Almond Kant ($3.75) and Tiramisu Bun ($3.50). I actually enjoyed the first one, it was super sweet and a little oily but still yummy. The 2nd one was okay, I didn't realize there was cream in the middle, subtle sweetness. The customer service..well, not much to say. The guy was just standing there, didn't even greet us. They aren't overly friendly, but just enough. I haven't really looked around to see if the place is clean because I was so focused on finding the right pastry to satisfy my craving that day. There is outdoor seating available in front of the bakery, nothing fancy. They have plenty of parking in front of the bakery, shared by neighboring vendors. Would I return? definitely! Shilla Bakery is a Korean bakery in Chantilly near the At Home. There's plenty of parking in the lot in the complex, and this is a great cafe to get work done in or catch-up casually with a friend. There's plenty of indoor seating, good wifi, and a cute ambiance. There's also a wide variety of desserts and drinks to choose from. The baristas are chill and nice, it didn't take long for our drinks to come out. However, there's not too many savory options, especially if you're vegetarian. The cakes were a little dry and my matcha was a little watery/didn't have a prominent rose flavor, but I spent a good amount of time getting my PA school applications done without getting distracted. The prices are a little high, but reasonable for the area. I'd try this place once if you need somewhere to lock in with a sweet treat. read more

This is a great cafe and bakery. They have a a wide selection of breads, pastries, cakes, cookies and hot/cold drinks. They also have a nice seating area for you to enjoy your food and drinks. Cute little bakery just opened near our house. We have always love Shilla and so decided to try this place out. We were craving bingsoo so stop by here and get the mixed fruit bingsoo to satisfy our craving. We stop by here on a sunday afternoon so it's a bit crowded. They do have lots of tables to sit at but I must say this Shilla is a bit smaller than the one in centreville. We ordered our bingsoo and customer service was nice, quick and fast. I'm a bit dissapointed because they don't have the yogurt bingsoo but the mixed fruit will do. They put fruits and layered of syrup evenly. A layer of fruit, a layer of ice. Stopped at this bakery after eating brunch in the mall. The place has a decent amount of indoor seating, but it seems people take out their orders. The selection of pastries and breads was pretty good. You can choose from various savory breads as well as asian sweet breads. The price is also pretty good, so you can try several items easily. My favorite item, custard bread was impressively good. I've tried the same item from various bakeries before, but this bakery generously filled custard in the bread and maintained a good sweetness. While I'm not a big fan of asian bread smelling like margarine, this bread didn't have strong smell or taste so it was quite nice. Another cheesy bread was also satisfying, but might be too greasy. They also have various cakes, so if I come around this area again, I'd love to stop by and get other items. Very friendly staff and clean store as well. read more

Awful customer service, the owner is extremely rude and unprofessional. We agreed on a price, few days prior to the event said she is not providing us the topper which was in the cake picture we selected. Also, she randomly added 10% sales tax even though the invoice she wrote says final price of xxx. We paid for setting up the cake, but left the stand, and couple of fake flowers on premises and expected us to return them. She withdrew more money than what is in the invoice. A new Shilla's! To be honest, I love this location a little bit more than the Centreville location (which is always be a classic for sure!). Interior is clean and modern, and it seems like they have more menu items and pastries/baked goods, which I really liked. Staff was super nice as well, got their order recommendations in hand :) We tried their pistachio latte and tiramisu latte, as well as the marble pound cake and another pastry that I can't recall the name of. I really enjoyed the tiramisu latte, and will definitely be ordering again. Gave Shilla Bakery a try a few weeks ago. Used their online ordering system for a craft latté and a breakfast sandwich. Super cute inside, plenty of parking out front, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I ordered a rose latté, which was a bit pricey for the size; I was expecting a larger cup of it. It was ok, but not very well balanced in flavor. For my breakfast sandwich, I had a croissant with egg and cheese, sriracha sauce on the side. This was a generously sized sandwich for the price with an ample amount of egg. My only negative critique is that the croissant tasted sweet like a sugared bakery item, rather than just like a flaky bread. So for a savory sandwich, it was just a bit off-putting. They had a huge selection of bakery items that looked beautiful and mouth-watering, and some unfamiliar items that I'd be very curious to try! The staff at this location are so sweet and quick. There were plenty of tables that were available and clean. The offerings are all labeled, and I've actually never had a stale pastry from this location, so I trust they are honest with shelf life. I usually swing by to buy some milk bread from here out of convenience, but I usually bring visitors to this location as there are other things to do off of Metrotech. My friends have enjoyed their tarts, castella cakes, and various buns. Nothing old or questionable, so it's safe to pick an item and enjoy it with a drink. They have lot of staples but nothing particularly different nor exceptional; but everything they make, they make well, and without too much sugar. Likewise if you desire such, you can add a little pizzazz to your cake as well; they do decorative creations that are quite cute. Additionally, a significant point I like about this cafe is that they have several core items that do not change while rotating a great number of other items. There is just enough predictability to be sure you will get something you like, while still presenting the opportunity to try something new. My family was visiting from Hawaii and while out shopping wanted to stop for a snack. I Yelped and noticed this was nearby so I brought them here for one of my favorite type of local coffee & snack experiences. They tried a deep fried ham and cheese sandwich, a mango pastry, a small flatbread sort of thing with meat and cheese on it, and some coffee drinks. My Mom was just ok with the sandwich as she said it was harder to bite into than expected (it was not light and crispy) but otherwise said it was good. They both liked the flatbread thing, were delighted the mango pastry actually had real mango in it, and loved their drinks. The only reason this isn't a 5 star is that my brother tried to order a sandwich and was told they don't make sandwiches at 2:30pm. Huh? We were there for a bit talking and noticed maybe 45 mins later a group ordered sandwiches and got them. If the person making sandwiches stepped out or they really do have hours they don't make them, they need to just say so or post them. This one has a nice assortment of cakes, and they had Napoleon here, which I didn't see at the other one.
