The iced white peach & mint cooler is amazing, especially with the warmer weather coming up. I've also tried their Earl Grey tea and Iced Matcha, which were both decent. The staff are consistently attentive and welcoming - they're quick to help, patient when you're deciding, and just create a really comfortable, easygoing atmosphere overall. I first tried Tattee at their Capital Hill location in DC. The environment of each location tends to be the same with their open and white colors around. I wasnt a big fan of their coffee - i believe i had their mocha latte, i think the beans were bad because the coffee had a bitter taste to it. I did however try their Turkey B.L.A.T sandwich and loved it!! We went to the fairfax location on a sunday late afternoon for some lunch and to do some work, the environment was easy and welcoming. read more

OMG! Tatte Bakery & Cafe is everything you would expect in a bakery/ cafe. The atmosphere and aesthetics were everything. It had a very chill, vibey feel. As soon as you open the front door, the aroma of fresh pastries hits you right away. This cafe serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and coffee. It is truly an all-encompassing cafe. I actually returned twice during my time in Fairfax. For dinner, I ordered the chicken pita, a pita packed with roasted chicken breast, chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, parsley, lettuce, and a herb dressing. It was absolutely scrumptious. I also had a tomato soup, which was the best I have ever had, and used it as a dipper for my sandwich. IYKYK. The next morning, I stopped by to pick up pastries for the office and to take some home. I ordered a chocolate croissant, plain croissant, morning bun, blueberry olive oil muffin, and what I think was a limited time blueberry cheese danish. Everything was delicious. The pastries were fresh and flavorful. My only regret is that I did not order more. (LOL) The service was very quick, and the staff was friendly. They seemed to have a very organized system in place. I find that most Tatte's are very consistent across the board, but it's always great to see it firsthand especially since this location is so close to me. highly recommend getting the Appleberry hot tea. It is perfect for the non-coffee drinkers for the winter! this location is deceivingly large. It looks smaller on the outside, but it can seat a whole lot of people with chair, options, stool options, bar options, and even outdoor options! Came here to get a coffee and to get some studying done. This is a new establishment so the person cashiering was new with entering coffee items. Supervisor nearby was quick to help. Pros: -Welcoming environment. -Plenty of seating, tall ceilings, lots of natural light, well lit. -Wifi connection was easy and works well. - I like the color scheme and decor. White tiles and natural wood colors. Open and airy atmosphere. -The Barista was very polite, upbeat and made a perfect Dirty Chai. -The brunch menu looks appealing. There are some middle eastern/mediterranean items that caught my attention. Cons: -The floors were not clean and needed to be swept and mopped. There were tons of crumbs and pieces of food on the floor and underneath the benches. -My Dirty Chai Latte was $9, overpriced in my opinion. We were craving a snack so we went to try the new location in Fairfax! - Iced Latte - Iced Chai Latte - Mixed Berry Fruit Box Although the taste of the regular iced latte was not for me, I loved the flavor of the iced chai latte. We chose the mixed berry fruit box because it appeared appetizing on display, but the crust was hard and difficult to cut with a knife. Otherwise, the fruits and filling were good. It was not clear if we were supposed to clean up after ourselves on our first visit. The cookie shell was hard and kept falling apart. It had a pretty stale texture, too. The cream filling was tasted pretty good, but the whole dessert was so hard to eat that everything was off-putting. I liked the kind service, and I am interested in tryinf their other menu items. Great bakery and a consistent brunch or breakfast spot. This should be on your rotation for coffee outings. The location is near the interstate allowing people from nearby to get to you quick. One of the smaller locations for seating, when compared to the Tatte in Alexandria. The all tile design does get a little loud for sound reverberations so he ready for that on a busy weekend. Their shakshuka, halloumi breakfasts sandwich are worth it. I'm sure you'll find something that catches your interest. A good add for the near downtown Fairfax. read more

SO ecstatic that a Tatte opened up in my neighborhood & I don't have to venture far anymore! Perfectly toasted, buttery bread, generous amounts of meat, & had a nice balance of subtle sweetness/tartness from the beet relish. Matcha lemonade is not too sweet with a good matcha flavor. My only complaint is that after I ordered, I wasn't directed to where I should pick up my order. There are 3 separate counters...one to order, a bar counter where drinks are serviced, then the back kitchen counter where food comes out. Would be nice to direct customers on where to pick up if not dining in. The manager was quick to step in & grab my order. Also offered a pastry on the house for the confusion. They have some slick numbered tags/tents, which allow them to know exactly where you are sitting, so they can bring your order right to you without having to search around. There was plenty of seating, and the displays of baked goods immediately caught our attention. The staff was incredibly friendly and engaging. The atmosphere and the team were so welcoming. Big space, clean, and roomier than the DC locations, although they are still getting the hang of it so not as efficient yet. They have outdoor seating as well. Came for their grand opening and they're still training the cashiers so ours didn't know what all the items were yet and missed putting in my drink the first time but the wait was quick for food! They have a punch card for a free drink after 10 which is great! Our food only came out mildly warm, so we're just taking it home to retoast. Our things came in too many bags though and I feel like some of our pastries could have been combined. Mango ginger cooler: 9/10 I tried the ginger mango cooler and love it because I love gingery things and liked that it wasn't too sweet. Drip coffee: 5/10 According to my coffee snob fiance, it was a bit watered down and flavourless.. but he was impressed that their bags of coffee beans for sale had a roast date within this month. My fiance said it was styrofoam ): Smoked salmon avocado tartine: 9/10 Big chunks of avocado, decent amount of smoked salmon (a bit salty). Good flavour. Bread could have been crisper and felt untreated/untoasted right out of the bag. But I would order this again. Flat bread: 6/10 We saw the staff heat this slice but it was not sufficiently heated enough and they already missed my drink so we didn't want to wait to have them fix another thing so he had to wait to eat it until he could reheat it at home himself. The slice was a thick flat bread a good weight, not too thin or flimsy. The tomato, pesto, and mozz was good but imagine it would have been better if it was made fresh to order. Overall, liked that it was not greasy but too costly for a single mid slice. Overall, I'd rate the food a 4 because I've been to other Tattes many times and would contribute my lower end experiences today to growing pains & grace is definitely deserved for grand openings, especially when I could tell the staff was trying their hardest. I'm hoping by my next visit they'll have a smoothed out some of the kinks & staff would have more experience handling orders. read more

Food was overall good. We've all had tatte before so it wasn't anything out of the ordinary (love their pastries and the goat cheese mousse scrambled eggs!). Ambiance is great - very spacious and seating was okay considering it was a busy time. Service wasn't our favorite. We ordered a chai latte and it was too much milk (barely any chai flavor, and if you're a chai drinker, you know there's a bit of a spicy punch to it -- there was none. Maybe a pinch). We tried to ask for a little adjustment (after drinking a sip or two) and the barista didn't just say no; he said "We follow a strict recipe and the fact that you ordered yours without foam and customized it outside of our recipe.. I've been to this Tatte location a couple times and been disappointed. A few weeks ago I tried the iced tahini pumpkin latte and wasn't a fan. The tahini pumpkin completely overpowered the coffee flavor, and the color of the latte seemed too dark for oat milk. Not sure if they used too much flavoring or didn't shake up the oat milk (or both). I think the tahini pumpkin flavor would make a great cookie, but it was a miss as coffee. The next time I went, I ordered an iced oat milk latte but they were out of oat milk. This was disappointing and a bit questionable as it was midday on Sunday and relatively slow. I'm unsure how they ran out and why they wouldn't have someone go grab more. Especially considering that their signature lattes are made with oat milk. I got almond milk because that was the only other non-dairy alternative. On the plus side, it wasn't too crowded and there was open seating, compared to other Tatte locations. Also, one of the cashiers was INCREDIBLY friendly and remembered my name when he brought over my bagel, which was delicious. read more

TLDR: food not worth, wouldn't come back, but ambience and location is great. We ordered: Croissant - below average. The ends of the croissant were very chewy and tough to get through, while the middle of the bread resembled what the whole croissant should have been, buttery and fluffy. I've had this exact dish at 3 different bakeries recently; Fresh Baguette, a Korean bakery and this. This was the worst one of the 3. Tomato basil soup - this was our favorite item that we ordered. It's a little on the acidic side and sort of creamy, but tastes great. Balanced well with the buttered roll they gave on the side. Honestly the (free) bread on the side was the best bread they had to offer. Tomato & goat cheese mousse - the separate ingredients were fine, but the combo was alright... eggs were cooked well, and the mousse and tomatoes were okay, but just a bit overpriced for $11 for a very mediocre dish Prosciutto & fig panini - hard to go wrong w Brie cheese + fig, so the sandwich was good. It was a bit heavy w the ciabatta bread. Would I order it again? Probably not House latte - this has a unique flavor. My partner liked it. Not too sweet and herby. Multiple times they have messed up my order. I come here often and some of the staff are not very friendly and don't get orders correct. In the past, I've come in several times and they gave me whole milk when I asked for oat milk (which you pay for). Just today, I came in, ordered, and watched the barista pump "vanilla" syrup into the cup, but the bottle that the "vanilla" came out of looked like a chocolate syrup or something similar. I asked her if she added vanilla and she said yes but I told her that it didn't look or taste like you put vanilla in because I come here often, get the same thing, and it doesn't taste like normal. read more

Reston town center has a new rising star! Something other than Starbucks?!! This petite pastry and coffee has all the staples for a late afternoon or early morning bite. The bakery is amazing! The menu is very interesting with lots of great choices. The food is very tasty. The location is great. The restaurant needs to improve its accessibility for people with disabilities. We had a lot of difficulty navigating a wheelchair around an 100+ pound outdoor umbrella that was plopped in the middle of the walkway. The doors also don't have handicap access buttons. I'm not sure how this building passed county inspection. Fortunately, a guest saw us coming and interrupted their meal to hold open the front door. The staff are friendly but are having some growing pains that will hopefully improve with more training. We placed two separate orders because the cashier didn't hear us the first time. When the food arrived, we still didn't get everything we ordered. The cafe latte and side of scrambled egg were still missing. The manager delivered the cafe latte at no charge. But my mom never got her scrambled egg. It was a lost sale. The ceilings are tall, the walls are tiled, windows are glass, the floors are hard for easy cleaning, and the table tops are marble, causing the acoustics to be loud in this retail space. On the weekend it's very loud in this restaurant. Perhaps they're having difficulty hearing the guests who are placing orders at the register. read more
