This is one of 3 Chinese take/ dine in places in the town of Catskills. We wanted a sit down but this one had two tables while the other had one so this place WON out. Food was surprisingly good. I ordered beef with snow peas and a cup of wonton. Wonton though not the best was on par with other places sans veggies...However it had a childhood taste that I remembered from Washington Heights, that put a smile on my face. My dish was good and shockingly was good sized for $7...Yes, for $7 for that plate, I walked away happy. Everyone seemed to like their dishes and all of us finished them...Does this indicate the food is top tier? NO but for what it is - mostly take out, it gets kudos. I would order take out from here. Service was nice, like they cared that we enjoyed our dine in experience. I appreciated that. Ambiance is typical Chinese take out train wreck but this place at least put two tables and chairs. I liked that the owner again tried to make the dine in experience better so for that, the train wreck score was dashed away. In the end, we agreed this was a place that food could be ordered for take out. I would easily order from here again...I wished though that they had a proper dining area.

The service was nice and friendly and the portions for the lunch specials were generous. The food tasted fresh and good. The eggroll was fried well without being greasy and contained cabbage with bits of pork. The General Tso's was also fried well, had a coating that wasn't too thick, and came with a good sauce. It could have been a bit spicier for my taste but it was very good. The fried rice came with bits of pork and onion and had a nice flavor. I'd come back if I was in the area and needed a quick Chinese lunch.

Portions were definitely lunch size. Which is the proper amount to eat but less than I'm used to. I would say the preparations were just different. The boneless spareribs were completely different than I've ever had. Big slices of meat, like shown in the photo. Nothing was bad or great just different. He even suggested that another party go elsewhere for dessert, because he didn't think what they offer is good (!)... When he came to our table to take our order he just stood there and said okay - not what can I get for you, or anything remotely polite. He also seemed to be in a hurry the entire time, despite it not being busy. It was easy to hear him questioning other staff in the back about their scheduling for the rest of the day, as if he was too important to be there. This restaurant would be nothing without the women preparing the food, and they should be respected by everyone working there.

He asked have you had these type of noodles before? Of course I did but not at this restaurant . His excuse was egg noodles tend to be firmer . At that point, I gave up on the meal. The server did remove it from the bill. Despite everything, when I paid, the server made a smart remark that came off as rude and unprofessional, the server made a sarcastic remark about the tip -- as if 20% wasn't enough. If I knew he was going to get snarky about it, I would've left zero tip ! I won't be coming back !
