What a joke of an owner here and location. Ordered overpriced and undersized ice cream. Was given the wrong ice cream flavor. When I nicely pointed this out the owner (at least I think it was the owner because it was an older ice cream man and not a teenager) he berated me and told me I ordered what he gave me. He followed this up by literally spiking the wrong ice cream he had given me into the trash like he was Rob Gronkowski. Sixty year old ice cream men throwing a temper tantrums is laughable and appalling. Outside of that everything is overpriced and the Candy closet, oops I mean store is claustrophobic and truthfully a rip off. One of the employees verified I had been given the wrong order when the "boss" walked away. Old men spiking ice cream cones, Happy Summer, Chatham! Honestly, if I had little kids I'd avoid this place or you may face the spiking wrath of the penny candy ice cream man! read more

This was a big disappointment, unfortunately. When looking at advertisements, it seemed it was a huge old-fashioned candy store. In reality, it was a tiny candy store with a limited number of choices except taffy, which was quite large. They only accept cash, which is very strange in this day and age. No atm on premises, and I was told there's an atm down the street, but at that point, I left without buying anything. In addition, there's no private lot. Street parking is very difficult to find because it's a busy area. Not recommended. read more

The chocolate and candy were good, but the 2 stars are for the rather rude and smug cashier who told us that our son can't try one of the ice cream flavors because "we don't do samples here." Well we don't do strict ice cream shops and got much better service the other stores in town. read more

Stopped in because I had purchased something next door and wanted some ice cream before leaving the area for the evening. There were three employees working behind the counter. One was eating ice cream and talking to the second, and the the third looked like he was completely stoned. There was no greeting or acknowledgment of me, a human person with money to spend, from any of them when I walked up to the counter and asked for some help. Literally, the young man who took my money was practically a zombie. There's plenty of other places to stop for a treat on Chatham - do yourself a favor and go to any of them, just don't go to this one. read more

Expensive at $12 per lb for run-of-the-mill candy. (Tardy, m and m' s, Swedish fish, kit Kat minis) Nothing too exotic, but my 12 year old loved the $3 bright red lobster shaped lollipops and snagged 3 of them for "souvenir gifts" for friends back home. Fun for a kid, cash only, bring plenty. read more

The store is tiny but has a good selection. My review is pretty much just for the fudge. It's not really even on display, only a flavor listing, but it's AWESOME! I'm a fan of oreo fudge and this was top notch. A pretty decent chunk of fudge for $4. I was very happy. The place gets crazy crowded on busy summer nights but it's worth it. read more

Tons of flavors of saltwater taffy! Just grab a bag (there are multiple sizes, I think) and start throwing in the candy! Doesn't get better than that! This is a smallish store, but it's less crowded than the one further up on Main. Usually. If it's packed, I would just leave and try again later, because you are not going to have fun when that store is crowded. They have a cool old cash register... so even though you're paying more than a penny these days, you still will get a nice nostalgic feeling! read more

The woman working at this store was vile to my son. He tried to weigh his candy before purchase (12 bucks a pound, not a penny) and she shouted at him from across the store. I paid 8 bucks for 4 gummy worms and after my son left, I explained that he was unaware of the rule. Her response was insulting and downright rude. When I explained that my son did not hear her (after paying 8 bucks for 4 gummy worms), she pretty much yelled at me as well. read more

Penny Candy this was not. This was some of the most expensive Penny Candy i have ever had... $9.99/lb! Absolutely not! They also didn't even have sour straws.... what kind of penny candy store is it without sour straws! Greg and I both got about $3.00 worth... and it was hardly anything. read more

Great location, bad service. I grew up going to this store! My son is now 11, and went in by himself with a $10 bill which was his allowance. He spent $4.71. As he left, he realized that he only received $.29 cents change. He called me and I told him to go right back in. The man insisted that he gave him a $5 bill. The cash register is old fashion and the kids who work there do not place the money on top of the register when they make change for the customer. An honest mistake on the part of the kid at the register. The troubling part is that I went in to let them know that I had given my son $10 allowance the owner insisted that he saw the $5 bill and I was mistaken. I told him to consider it his last tip. Any parents out there who have kids who receive allowance know that every penny counts, and clearly my son knew he had a $10 bill. Too bad. There is another great candy store in Harwich Port that I will go to. read more

Every time I'm in Chatham, I always stop by this store for their ice cream. They have a great variety of flavors, something for everyone. The girls who work there are always friendly and happy to serve you. They also have really unique salt water taffy flavors, like cake batter. It's definitely worth visiting if you're in the area. read more

I have been going to Chatham the last 4 years and this was my first time here. Was with my 7 yr old and all we wanted was a shake. They said they dont make those and I asked if they had sundaes.. The answer was an indifferent no so we said thanks anyways but we are all set. Meanwhile my so. Was tryi to get my attention and while walking out I hear someone yell "don't move". My kid was frozen with his hand in a malt ball canister. My son by instinct was taking his hand out and they yelled at him again to not move. I took the two balls from his hand and the worker was pissed and still making comments. He said I owe him 47 cents and I gave him a dollar and said keep it. It's a candy store guys. There is no need to yell at a kid that age especially in such a small store. He said sorry his didn't know he couldn't use his hands but didn't even get a response. Sorry for the bad review but service means a lot and your employee acted out of line. Not much else to say for my first yelp. read more

Avoid this place! The so-named "owner" told my 6yr old that her mother was being a "bit$&"! This after she received indifference to my daughter's celiac and nut allergy needs. Candy store yes, but run by the local crab!...We got our candy across the street, for half the price, and with no attitude. read more
