What went wrong here? I'm not 100% sure how this happened, but the green tea we ordered tasted like it had been diluted beyond recognition, to the point where the whole time I was sipping, I wasn't absolutely sure whether there was any tea, or whether it was a cup of melted ice cubes with powered tea flavour. The staff who made the tea seemed nice but told us she had only been working there for a few days without prior experience. If it was her relative lack of experience that led to this debacle, then I would say corrective action is needed on the part of the store/supervisor so that customers have consistent experience no matter the store. We've been to a few other locations including overseas, but never experienced something like this. I hope they continue to improve. read more

Love this place. The drinks here are so delicious. I had the lychee milk tea and it was perfectly made. The staff here are super friendly and patient. They give out samples and explained everything throughly. They have small seating area with games. Highly recommend! read more

Chatime offers so many beverage choices (milk teas, fruit teas, lattes, smoothies, juices, mousses, etc.) and a variety of toppings (boba, bursts, jelly, pudding, aloe vera, red bean). Even though the menu is pretty extensive, I decided to go with one of my go-tos, the taro milk tea. Not sure if this was an off day or if I should have just picked an item off of their top 15, but I thought my milk tea was watered down. I can barely taste any taro flavor sadly. Boba was cooked well, though. Would I go back? Potentially if I was in the area, but I'd definitely try something other than the taro milk tea. read more

i don't really know what the bad reviews are about, i walked in a little bit scared, however it's fire. the only few reasons it's not a 5, the worker there (the only one) frequently open mouth coughed, it made me a little uncomfortable knowing she would be making my drink. i got a the tiger latte and my boyfriend got the mango fruity tea, both were great and tasted flavorful. about 6-7 dollars for each drink although a regular and not a large, a little bit preposterous in my humble opinion. overall, cool. read more

We stopped by Chatime Frederick this evening and finally a decent boba tea shop! We ordered the Hawaiian fruit tea and the tiger latte with pearls. Both drinks were delicious and not too sweet. The pearls were soft and chewy. I'm so glad we have a boba tea shop in Frederick and do not have to travel to Moco to get a decent drink that's not just powered mix. It was busy this evening but the line went quickly and the wait time for the drinks was not long. read more

Good teas, plenty of options, okay prices. I wish that the prices were a bit less expensive - perhaps they have always been that way or perhaps it is due to the current state of the food industry. I like the peach green iced tea the best. Less ice, 30% sugar, still has taste and is sugary than the usual "not too sweet" teas that I typically enjoy. You can order ahead online and pick up in store. They're usually quick unless they have a big order, which we've had that twice. There's also a great Thai restaurant next door so we typically pair up the two drink and dinner together. read more

The good: The selection seems pretty abundant, and the location is clean. Not a lot of seating--seems like they aren't really a place to hang out. Falls short: I've tried a few different offerings over the last few months. The mousse offerings are ok. But every drink I've tried had a odd taste. The matcha looks more like a mix of matcha and other lower quality tea-- its a muddy green color-- and didn't taste much like matcha should. The pearls are ok. Great addition to the Frederick, MD area! Also bear the west view movies theaters is great as well. The drinks variations are good, plenty of choices between milk teas, smoothies, and fruit teas. Along with great choices of toppings as well. The only thing is, I wish they cook the tapioca boba a little more, since the last two times I've had it in my drinks it was a little hard inside. I find most bubble tea too sweet, so I prefer establishments that allow you to pick your sugar level (not all do). I also like that you can specify the ice level; I don't need a ton of ice in my drink. So bonus points for both of those. I usually try one of my usuals when going to a new bubble tea shop: coconut, taro, or Thai milk tea. I had the coconut, and while I enjoyed it, it tasted more like a coffee drink than coconut. Also, at 50% sugar, it was still pretty sweet. At homemade/independent shops, I usually just get like 20% less sweet, so this was surprising. The menu was large and somewhat confusing, because there weren't descriptions of what some things were. Pictures were helpful, but I need descriptions for some items (what the heck is "mousse" section, like the dessert you eat with a spoon?). Maybe a QR code to scan or something? Anyway, I'll come back to try a few other items. I guess this is the alternative to Starbucks if in the mood for a non-alcoholic beverage while in the area. read more
