At the request of so many of my friends, I continue to go to the Chatta Box and continue to be completely disappointed. If you go there with 1 or more people, your meals are never brought out at the same time, sometimes making your spouse or friends wait for 5-15 minutes while you either eat your food or sit and let it get cold while you wait. Food is sometimes over-cooked and sometimes under-cooked. Forget the sweet sticky rice dessert, crunchy and hard. Vegetarian options are scant and the meals don't have the option of "beef, chicken or vegetable" like every other Asian place in the country. You get what they give you. Don't bother asking for substitutions, it's not going to to happen. You want good Thai food? Go across the street to Sugar Cane and get some actual good food. Chatta Box continues to be sub par and over priced. They are hyped up because they are sitting in the middle of a rural college town with little else for food in walking distance. Really good place, especially for lunch. Had the chicken katzu box. The chicken was good, and the miso soup was way better than average, with lots of tofu chunks. The serving size was good for the price. And the Thai iced coffee was tasty (if you like it a bit on the sweet side). read more

I have had a lot of Asian food in various places in MA and RI and this is by far the best I have had!If you like spicy food I would HIGHLY recommend the Spicy Noodles in a Pot (glass noodles with chicken and shrimp in a VERY hot VERY flavorful lime chili sauce) and the Chicken Mango Curry. This curry is THE best I have ever had. It is thick and creamy and you can taste every layer of spicy-sweet flavor as you eat it. They also have great dishes that are less spicy like the Pad-Thi and Garlic Beef and Rice! The portions are HUGE and the prices are VERY reasonable. They also have lunch prices on everything on the menu ( did I mention the menu is humongous?) The servers are polite and attentive and all of the ingredients are fresh. Discovered this place while attending college in Bridgewater and have been coming back ever since. Great food at low prices. This place does not have atmosphere- it's a small spot in a strip mall with probably 15 tables tops- they don't even have a bar. If you're looking for a night out to get dressed up and have drinks all night, this is not the place. If you're just looking for a good meal, you'll be more than pleased with Chattabox. The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful here. The menu selection is amazing- food from various regions of Asia. I've had a few of the appetizers- their vegetable tempura is great- probably the best I've had. For entrees I often get the pad thai but have also had the sesame chicken, nutty monkey fried rice, and salmon teriyaki combo box- all delicious. Most recently I ordered the Chiang Mai pad thai. Wow- so spicy and flavorful! I may never order regular pad thai again. The only thing I ordered that I didn't care for was the sushi- it's really not their specialty. Great Asian restaurant tucked into a small plaza off Route 18. I've been here twice now; the first time I got masaman curry, and the second time I got sushi. Both were excellent! It's hard to find a restaurant that does both right. The menu is so extensive that I think many more visits are in order. :) My friends have gotten a variety of dishes (pho, pad thai, one of the box dishes, pineapple fried rice, egg drop soup, etc.) and everyone's been happy. During my last visit service was pretty slow and things came out in a weird order (like entrees before appetizers). However, the food is so good that I'll definitely be back. read more

Long had I lamented the dearth of palatable Asian food in the Middleboro-Taunton-Raynham area, when this gem should suddenly, frantically appear. Like a beacon! In the darkness! I must tell you, it was tiny, tables shouldering up to the pass, steam from the kitchen fanning warmly into the waiting area where I did not, mind you, wait very long for a table, despite the evening's being a Friday. I arrived with Mum and Pup, getting our seats in no time flat (four minutes?), and they both ordered red curries, hers with squid and assorted sea creatures, his with chicken and I don't know what else. I, always the contratian, ordered the Jungle Peak Noodles; they arrived not as spicy as the tiny pepper on the menu promised, but they managed to be quite delicious without the aid of the tiny menu pepper, having a fair assortment of bamboo shoots, finely-wrought carrots, and some other manner of vegetables and wooded-area treats. We had collectively ordered, I should say, the Yum Nua for an appetizer, and the crunchy spice of the underlying salad was quite enough on its own. Everything was warm and homey and well-seasoned, nestled into an inconspicuous shopping center off the main drag, just shy of Bridgewater proper and its attending hum. I have been going to the Chatta Box since I was in college 2005, and it is one of my favorite Thai restaurants. They are super vegetarian friendly, which is always a plus in my book, and the tofu fritters are pure happiness in your mouth not to mention the cucumber mint sauce is amazing. I would definitely recommend the Bridgewater rolls, they are my favorite veggie sushi at the Box. The service is always very warm and welcoming, the staff are very efficient and friendly. My favorite Thai restaurant! I lived in the Bridgewater area for many years and used to eat here a lot. I now live over an hour away and try to go back as much as possible. I came here for the first time last night and was pleasantly surprised! The restaurant was busier than we expected for a Sunday night but we were seated immediately and there was no wait to order or receive our meals. For an appetizer we had fried chicken dumplings and they were very good! The sauce they gave, tasted similar to sweet and sour, was great and complimented the food. They gave us 6 individual dumplings and it was the perfect amount. We each had three and it did not fill us up too much before our actual meal. I ordered the beef Hakka Mee and it was quite good! The beef was delicious and had so much flavor, but it was very tough and difficult to chew. The noodle dish itself just reminded me of an expensive lo mein; it was good, don't get me wrong. My boyfriend got mango rice with chicken and was a little disappointed with it. The mango was not ripe at all so it had no juice and was even a little hard. He was hoping that the rice would have more of a mango taste instead of just chunks of mango. Overall we had a very pleasant experience. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and happy. I often drink a lot of water during meals and there was always someone coming by to refill my cup. The Chatta Box is a place me and my buddies go to on a regular basis. 1) It's the perfect place for any celebration, with an intimate, Asian-themed atmosphere. We've gone after plays, before parties, and on random food cravings. 2) It's a place known around town for its great food. Despite all the times we've gone, I've only ordered one item: The Korean Stir-Fry. The reason why is because it was so great I have no reason to order any other items. Still brings me back... 3) It's an experience unlike any other, and every table has a unique story to tell. The place is classy enough to have intelligent conversations, but low-brow enough to have random fits of laughter. The sushi was warm and small. There was a distinct smell of fish even though I had the Spicy Tuna. Tuna should not smell fishy! I also ordered the appetizer combination platter. Everything was fried and tasted the same. It was incredibly doughy. The shrimp was very rubbery. The crab ragoon were button drops. I have the pleasure of eating daily on Newbury St in Boston and know good Thai and Japanese food. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

This place is unreal. I've eaten here over a dozen times. My family used to get take out or dine-in every Friday. The waitstaff is friendly, gracious and does all they can to give you the best experience possible. It's sushi selection is limited and not on par with a place that deals with just sushi but every other dish I've had from there was excellent. My favorites are the Thai Basil Salmon, Black Pepper Beef Noodle, and Bangkok Rolls. But really cannot go wrong with any dish that catches your eye. I recommend this place wholeheartedly. But I've heard. Crystal's Kitchen in West Bridgewater is run by the previous owner (Chatta Box was better then) so I'll have to check that out. read more

This is the best Thai restaurant I've been to. All the food is prepared fresh and tasty. They have a wide assortment of chicken, beef, noodle, and rice dishes, as well as great soup. All their entrees are large. Their soups come in a great big bowl, loaded with chicken, noodles, vegetables, and whatever else is in there. The soup makes a meal all on its own. One of my favorites dishes is the mango chicken. It has a sweet flavor that isn't too overpowering. I have to say that I wasn't too impressed with their pad thai, but it still wasn't bad. Honestly, though, this isn't the kind of place you go for just standard dishes anyway. There's so much to try, and it's all so uniquely flavorful and exotic, you'll definitely want to come back for more! read more
