My husband and I drove 30 minutes just to grab dinner. We hadn't been here in 3 years due from living out of state. Anyway, I was excited to build my own combo plate. For $15.25 I was hoping for way more than a half plate. I literally got a scoop of lobster sauce, 3 scoops of rice, 4 boneless ribs, and 2 crab ragoons. EVERYTHING was salty. I will not be going back. This is robbery!!Combo Plates

Wowee to Maui. Five phat-ass American stars for being a great American-style Chinese restaurant and for being wicked easy on the wallet. Beware that Maui is not an upscale or yuppified place. In-house lottery amenities and table-side views of scrappy junk yards and like make this place unpretentious and blue-collar. My One took me here early in the day to beat the crowds that have been flocking here for over 40 years. The hostess was very friendly and politely informed us that their credit card machine was busted and cash only was accepted. No biggie. We requested a window seat in this empty place and perused the menu and opted for the Deluxe Lunch Special. Your choice of four items among 20 or more choices of "the usual" classics. Moey chose essentially a PuPu Pladder selection (Wings, PFR, 'Goons and Fingers) and I chose Meatless Egg Foo Yung, Beef with Peapods, Kung Pao, and Shrimp with Veggies. Hot tea was served au gratis. It was a bit of a wait until the phood arrived but all was hot n' fresh (sans the PFR per usual). My Yung was "lambasted" with redneck brown gravy and piping hot. My other items were delish and "lambasted" with goopy AF MSG sauces and contained plenty of animal. Very generous portions for a mere $11.50. This leaves plenty of cash in your wallet to play Keno and scratch tix while dining and to do other smart things with your money. The service was excellent as these peeps are true decades-old veterans of Maui. This is most certainly not their first rodeo in serving customers efficiently. If you like cheap prices, lottery, junk-yard views, old-school simplicity and yummy phood then peep out Maui for some good ole American Chinese. Capture the experience, YELPers, and just say, "Yes" to MSG. FYI: Drinks are inexpensive and be sure to order their "secret menu item" drink called a "Motherf**ker. It's wicked strong.

The most lethal Chinese drink a Scorpion Bowl!

Good place to have some drinks and listen to the horrible sounds of people singing on karaoke night! Staff here is very friendly and funny. Drinks here are nice and strong! Not a bad place to come to when a lot of other places in the area close early. Haven't tried the food, but I'm sure you would get your moneys worth at least. 3.5 stars

Seriously the best Chinese food in the Brockton Area. We always have the nicest time when we stop in for food and drinks.

We've been here twice before and always had a good experience, so for my boyfriend's birthday he…read morerequested hibachi and I decided to bring him back. There was plenty of parking, and upon walking in the restaurant looked very clean. Since it was close to closing and I had called ahead, we were seated right away at a hibachi table with just the two of us. There was an extremely loud birthday party seated next to us, but that's not the restaurant's fault. While ordering, I wanted to get appetizers and sushi before our hibachi meal, but I felt a little rushed by our server. On a previous visit I remembered there being a Tuesday appetizer special (I thought it was half off), but when I asked, I was told they had never offered that promotion. Food: * Rock & Roll Roll - 8/10: Fresh and tasty, although the crab had a slightly stronger smell than I'd prefer. * Shrimp Tempura Roll - 9/10: Very good, but I asked for extra eel sauce and was given barely a tablespoon. * Steak & Shrimp Hibachi - 5/10: The flavor was excellent and everything was cooked exactly as requested, but the portions were surprisingly small for the price. * Chicken & Steak Hibachi - 5/10: Again, the flavor was great, but the portions were disappointing. We ordered extra chicken, which ended up being a good decision because the regular portion was very small. Each plate had less than a cup of rice, and although I requested extra mushrooms instead of zucchini and carrots, that substitution wasn't made. * Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings - 10/10: Easily one of the best items we ordered. Perfectly crispy with great seasoning and just the right amount of spice. * Scallion Pancakes - 9/10: Crispy and flavorful, but they could have used more scallions and a larger portion of dipping sauce. Drinks: I ordered a lemon drop martini made with tequila, but it tasted like it was made with vodka. I asked if it could be replaced, but that request was declined. They brought me pineapple juice to try to make it more drinkable, but it didn't help, and the drink still remained on the bill. That was definitely a 0/10 experience. Our hibachi chef was fantastic. He was engaging, acknowledged my fiancé's birthday, and honestly made up for the lackluster service we received from our waiter. One thing diners should be aware of is that an 18% service charge is automatically added to the bill, but it isn't verbally mentioned. It's listed as a "service charge" on the receipt, so it's easy to overlook if you're not paying attention. I asked about it to confirm, then tipped our hibachi chef separately because he deserved it. The receipt also includes wording encouraging additional gratuity, which could easily lead guests to tip twice if they don't notice the automatic charge. Overall, the food quality and flavors were still good, and the hibachi chef made the experience enjoyable. However, the rushed service, disappointing portion sizes, drink issue, and lack of transparency about the automatic service charge kept this visit from living up to our previous experiences.

Came to this place with my family. The food was good, and the chef did a great job, so I gave him a…read morecash tip. However, when I received the bill, I was charged a $20 service fee, and then I was given three mandatory tip options on top of that. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, I understand how service charges work, but I personally feel that a $20 service fee is excessive, especially when customers are still expected to tip afterward. The food prices should cover the cost of service, with the tip being for the server's service. I felt the additional $20 charge was unreasonable and should have been clearly explained before ordering. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will not be coming back. I would recommend checking the service fees carefully before dining here.
