Hong Kong Stir Fried Beef Noodle - $13.95 as of 10/2024

I was finally able to revisit this place after ~8 years and I'm happy to report that the quality is just as good as I remember! Items we tried as of 10/2024: - Garlic Beef Crispy Noodle - $12.95 (lunch portion) - Beef was extremely tender and juicy! The crispy noodles combined with the gravy sauce was a stellar combination! Couldn't really taste the garlic but the dish itself was excellent. - Hong Kong Stir Fried Beef Noodle - $13.95 (Lunch portion) - Another fantastic dish. Tender and juicy beef and the soy based sauce that coats the dish is phenomenal! Overall I am happy this place is still kicking and would highly recommend it if you're in the area!

Based on many previous Yelpers, I decided on takeout at Crystal's tonight. It's a small place, but it was hopping when I arrived around 4:30 pm. My order was ready and I was cheerfully greeted and cashed out. From their website pics, I wanted to try the ribs and fingers appetizer combo and the Mongolian beef. I definitely need to come back and eat IN the restaurant. The ribs and fingers didn't look terribly appetizing in the to-go container, but the fingers were deliciously tender and crispy. Eating in would have yielded a better presentation. Maybe I'm not a big fan of Korean ribs. Flavorful, but too thin for me--texture not appealing. But I'm glad I tried them. The Mongolian beef with white rice was the perfect amount of light spice. Very tender beef slices and fresh veggies.

Some of the most delicious food I have ever eaten... With great fusion options... Outstanding service... I just wish I lived a little bit of closer... My wife bought me here for my birthday and I love this food here. I did not give a five star due to ambience but the casual setting is outstanding.

Some of the best Thai food in the area! The menu at Crystal's is extensive and has great variety. Food is always fresh - we have never had a bad meal!

This place really impressed me with what comes out of the kitchen! While waiting for your good you can watch the tv monitors show their complete dishes and when it arrived it looked just like I hoped! So well presented and taste made the experience amazing! Never had a dish that was not perfectly cooked and delicious! So much to choose yet I am a creature of habit and seem to order the same dish! Glad I ate here and glad the kitchen chefs are truly at the top of their game! Keep it up and don't stop preparing wonderful dishes and enough to even bring some home.

Ok , I had heard all kinds of yummy conversations on Crystals Kitchen so I was ready for a Culinary experience, however I was not inspired by my meal. I'll be honest I'm spoiled by quality Thai food on the west coast so my expectations are high. We ordered 4 different items and all suffered from same thing and that was lack of taste. Normally Thai spices offer a very robust taste but everything from the soup to main dishes was blahhh. Even the sushi was weak sauce. Hell I even used a sauce to try and induce flavor explosion but nothing. I thought my tongue took the day off from tasting but I was wrong cause I tasted my dinner that night. Everything looked great and the help was very attentive but over taste was lacking in my experience.

Literally some of the best food I've had in NE, and definitely the best asian fusion place I've had. The fact that we can get Chinese foods, Japanese food and Thai food all in one place and it all taste perfect and cohesive is incredible. The staff is very welcoming, patient and kind. Definitely on my list for a must on every trip to NE.

Really great spot. Good food with a great selection on the menu. There were plenty of options for eating restrictions like vegetarian or gluten free. The staff were friendly and helpful the restaurant itself was clean and comfortable. Would definitely go back.

We walked into a warmly decorated dining room where the staff remained accommodating even during a busy Friday night when the pace naturally slowed a bit. The Hainanese chicken is the dish to build the meal around, earning the most consistent praise for good reason. The chicken came out tender and well seasoned, with a depth of flavor from the poaching process done properly. The rice that accompanied it absorbed enough of the cooking liquid to stand on its own rather than just serving as a base. The curry chicken in particular has a sauce worth working through to the last spoonful, and pairing it with white rice or the coconut rice made the whole bowl feel complete. The roti canai is the starter most people reach for first, and it is worth having alongside the mains, flaky and well made with the curry dipping sauce doing its job. The beef rendang and chow kueh teow rounded out a menu that rewards ordering widely across a table. A few dishes landed on the milder side compared to what a more assertive Malaysian kitchen might deliver, so if you want bolder heat it is worth asking when ordering. The lunch combination sets offer strong value if your schedule allows for a midday visit. For a Malaysian restaurant in Chinatown that delivers on the Hainanese chicken and roti canai, Penang is a solid and much needed option in the neighborhood.

Fish cakes were small and perfectly uniform - almost like they were frozen rather than prepared on site. Green curry had some spice but was mostly one note, there just wasn't much depth of flavor. Vegetables were all cut in huge hunks - both dishes had giant pieces of red bell peppers and onions. Fried rice was pretty bland and barely had any Chinese broccoli in it. Ambiance was bare bones - you order at the counter and they bring you your food and plastic side plates. Half the tables were stacked with boxes and bags of takeout orders. To top it off there's no bathroom, we were told to use the bathroom at another local business. If I'm gonna spend $60 somewhere, I expect to be able to wash my hands before eating and use the restroom. Perhaps there are some specialty dishes that we didn't try but this was my 2nd time ordering from here (I got take out once before) and both times the food was pretty bland. A truly underwhelming experience - especially when there are so many better restaurants in the area.

This time we were ravenous, having spent 12 hours carrying heavy boxes and furniture all day, so primed for a good meal. The Rouleaux egg rolls were superb and the steamed shrimp & crab dumplings outstanding, both accompanied by simple but distinct sauces that really made them pop. Our entrees were equally impressive. The crispy fried catfish (Trey Tuk Peng Pah) and seafood noodles (Crevettes, Moules, Champignon Et Pates De Riz Au Gingembre) are my favorites. Such fresh ingredients combined with striking flavors really made it enjoyable. Our server was engaging and had very helpful insights as well.

The reviews looked good and I was excited to try their unique menu... well, let's just say we were very disappointed. First of all the prices are very expensive. I know this is Boston, but $17 for a cocktail is ridiculous! Our server was lovely, he was very kind and had a kind spirit. I was excited to try the "Rouleaux" since they remind me of the eggrolls, my mother learned from her Vietnamese mother-in-law. It was very crispy, which unfortunately is the only good thing I can say about it. The flavor was so off. It's almost as if the ingredients in the Rouleaux were loudly competing for my attention simultaneously! It didn't really melt in your mouth either, it just felt heavy. The other appetizer we ordered was called Dumplings croustillants au poet epics. This was actually worse than first appetizer. I like lemongrass, but MAN the lemongrass was so overpowering. I started to wonder... "is this how it's always made"?! I'm not even exaggerating. Overall, the atmosphere was nice - definitely pricey, and the food isn't worth the hype. Till next eats, SJ
