Such a cute restaurant! I was so looking forward to dining at this restaurant. The presentation of each dish was amazing and appetizing! They use lots of colorful vegetables and sauces! But everything was very salty. I mean....very very salty killing the natural flavors of ingredients. I ordered a grilled fish but it came cold. I paid $36 for it.....very disappointed. However, my daughter's and husband's dishes were hot. We tried to get attention from our waitress but it was so hard. We called her several times but she kept walking away. The dessert was so pretty! Since we were full, we shared one dessert. I wish I could eat more different desserts... It was a little pricey for us. But for a special occasion, it's a good idea to visit this restaurant. Harvest Habersham is the best restaurant in the area. You need reservations. My review is a summary of the half a dozen times we have been there. We go here for birthdays, anniversaries, and we have been to a couple of wine dinners. I would like to stay this is five stars because sometimes you get the best thing you have ever eaten. Like the cheddar cornbread in the photos. It was so good. Also there was the time they had the pork chop. OMG. But my review is an average of several meals. Looking through photos here, last time I had a steak that was really good on one end on ok on the other. It's not exactly a crudités but the appetizer we had was good and honestly too big. The pickled vegetables were too sour for me to eat all that. The menu is different every day and you do not know in advance what it will be so good luck! There will usually be a couple things on the menu to satisfy most everyone. The restaurant itself is in what appears to be a remodeled old house. It is cozy but not tight or cramped. If you want to try the wine dinner see if you can get on the mailing list. It is wines paired with multiple courses. I have always enjoyed the food but again it is huge. We were visiting the area and were able to try the restaurant only because our relatives made reservations in advance. We enjoy new food and experiences and because of all the great reviews were excited to try this restaurant. Because we're visitors I can't speak to the location. I think you could easily drive past the restaurant without noticing it. It's tucked away off the street and nestled among the trees. We enjoyed a pleasant meal on the deck on a wonderful day. The staff were friendly and helpful explaining the menu and the details. The six of us shared appetizers and desserts as well as bites of our entrees. I have taken too long to write this review and no longer have access to the other pictures taken but will post those I have. I had the TeXga pork chop. They suggested a temperature of medium and I was fine with that. Unfortunately it was overcooked. It was still a pleasant meal but I'm disappointed in what might have been a much better experience. My husband had the SC Wreckfish and enjoyed it very much. It's a mild tasting deep water fish and apparently not one seen often on menus. Another guest had the roasted chicken breast. She found it to be too spicy but has an admittedly sensitive palate. I tasted it and thought it was very salty. Two others at the table had the same opinion. All of the desserts are pictured and they were all delicious and tasty. I don't like coconut but toasting it made all the difference; it was a wonderful bite. It's a unique experience and I do recommend it although not everyone had the same opinion. I found the prices to be reasonable and the bill for our table of six was $300. I was the only person who had an alcoholic beverage so your check might be higher if everyone drinks. I was exceedingly happy with the tab. read more

An incredible dinner. From the service provided to the little details in the building...we loved it. We made reservations pretty far in advance because we knew we were going to be in Helen, GA for the weekend and would go back over and over for this place. I loved that the menu had different flavor combinations I had never seen prior. Ingredients you wouldn't expect to combine beautifully together. I also love the farm to table concept and they also list where everything comes from. Solid drink selection. This ranks as one of the top meals we've ever had and I feel like they need more than 5 stars for places as special as this! They change their menu daily but you will be pleasantly surprised with anything you order. You must have a reservation and it can be hard to get one because of their limited hours and they are only open Wednesday through Saturday. We happened to get on their waitlist and they had an opening. We had the cornbread to start, the beef cheeks and pork chop for entrees, and for dessert the chocolate parfait and key lime pie. Everything was amazing. Like I said, they change their menu daily so they'll likely have different choices but definitely check it out. This is by far the best restaurant in the area and the Guide Michelin needs to have it on their radar. We stayed in the area to try the Glenn Ella Springs restaurant. My husband and I dined at Harvest on Friday evening. The cocktails were creative with unique flavors and handmade shrubs. My husband had the pork loin which was tender and flavorful. My pizza with peanut spiced salami, okra and fresh tomato sauce was out of this world world. Glenn Ella was a HUGE disappointment. We wished we skipped it and dined here Saturday as well. read more

The name had the biggest clue haberSHAM. I ordered the ribeye steak and it was tough as shoe leather. The side of potato cakes was indescribable- some kind of potato lump fried in a skillet. I don't know how you make a marbled bone-in ribeye tough, but they did it. My wife asked to substitute the vinegar chips and was offered pickles. So if you don't like vinegar chips you can have vinegary pickles. We were told that was the only substitute. Sad. The vinegar chips was cold, rubbery and too salty to eat. The waitress was nice and when I told her of their shortcomings she said "I wish you'd have told me sooner so that I could do something about it. I rightly replied that at an establishment that boasts itself as an option for the discerning palate (at $50 for a ribeye), I shouldn't need to correct the "chef". We had a small plate and two large plates and couldn't believe the flavor they packed into each dish. Since the menu changes so often, it's hard to recommend a specific dish, so try them all. Laura was prompt responding and made the reservation seamless. The restaurant is beautiful and has a nice inside and beautiful outdoor patio seating. The server was very kind and attentive. The menu is unreal! They had everything from vegetarian options to incredible meat options, and locally sourced. For a starter we ordered the cornbread. hands down the best cornbread I've ever tasted, and that is saying a lot. I am a hobby baker and very picky . It was so light and flavorful. I ordered the grilled peach and my husband ordered the pork with nettle pasta. Hands down we both agreed this was one of the best meals we've ever had. We'd been wanting to dine here since before COVID, then they moved to a new location, and it took a while to be completed - it was worth the wait. It was truly an outstanding meal. Every dish was prepared with a variety of local vegetables, fruits, and herbs that complemented each other beautifully....many grown in their garden out back. A shout out to Laura who is the gardener, hostess and a waitress (maybe owner/manager too?). She took time to come out back and show us the unique Ground Cherries that were in one of our salads - delectable, sweet tiny cherries that I've never had. The meal. We had three small plates, entrees and shared a dessert. The small plates were gazpacho (bad lighting on the photo but it is tomato colored), an amazing fruit salad (could have been dessert too) and a chopped vegetable spread with delicious fried squash blossoms (no photo but it was exceptional). Husband had their smoked fish stuffed in a Rondo squash sitting on veggies. I had the Red Snapper atop chanterelles and some veggies. Dessert was an individually made blackberry-rhubarb cobbler, worth the wait for a fresh-baked dish. Lovely friendly service. Folks they are 90 minutes outside of Atlanta up 85 north towards Helen. The town is small, and everything closes at 5:00P...not much to do there anyway. I do wish they were closer to the city because we would be regulars. Was able to get a last minute reservation at Harvest Habersham last Friday night, and I'm SO glad they were able to squeeze us in! We sat outside on the covered patio, and enjoyed a tranquil evening. My husband and I ordered 2 appetizers and an entree each - everything was amazing. The menu changes daily, but I can say everything was cooked to perfection and the flavor combinations were sublime. We ordered: - "tomato pie" which was on a pastry crust with fresh cherry tomatoes, pesto, goat cheese, & balsamic vinegar reduction (my husband's favorite) - tempura okra/peppers with romesco sauce - buttermilk roast chicken with a mix of summer & fall vegetables (my favorite - felt like the perfect summer to fall transition dish) - pan seared snapper with okra/corn/tomatoes The wine menu is also perfectly curated - we shared a bottle of rose bubbly, which was recommended to go with our meals (and the warm weather). I don't think we could've ordered anything that we wouldn't have liked - the kitchen really knows what they're doing and the servers offered up some great pairings. This restaurant is one of our favorites of all time, and the only thing that's disappointing is that it's about 2 hours from where we live (Atlanta), haha. By far the best food you can get anywhere in North GA and possibly the whole state! My wife and I came for her birthday and dined from appetizer to dessert which we don't often do. It was truly a delightful time and we will absolutely be returning to experience another menu. Yes, the price is high, but you get what you pay for in service, atmosphere, and stupendous food quality. Instead of spending money in other areas, my wife and I prefer to spend our hard earned dollar on quality food that benefits our personal health and the livelihood of local and organic farmers. A true farm-to-table restaurant such as Harvest is the best way to do that while dining away from home. P.S. Where to start. This was our first outing into the Helen area and I called Harvest Habersham a few days in advance as reservations are required. The restaurant was booked up for the week as they only serve 40 heads per night. I emailed and LVM for Laura who called back the next morning with an 8 PM reservation that opened up from a cancellation. My boyfriend and I are "foodies" from Charleston and this was one of the best restaurant dining experiences we've ever had. Laura was super pleasant, warm and accommodating. The menu changes daily based on the local availability. For appetizers, we ordered the blue corn bread with strawberry chili butter and the snapper grouper scallop chowder which they offered to beautifully split and plate for us. For entrees, I had the grilled zucchini steak with creamed braised mushroom and squash and wild mushrooms and I added bacon to it. My boyfriend had the braised and seared pork shoulder with black beans and rice peas. Everything was seasoned to perfection. For desert we had the gluten free key lime pie. The restaurant was incredibly reasonable in price especially compared to the out of control food prices in Charleston. The Americana music and mood lighting was romantic and perfect and we sat outside on the patio overlooking the garden area complete with Edison lights and fireflies. Our servers were attentive and unbiased about the menu. My boyfriend's Negroni was one of the best he's had. I had the sparkling rose with a passion fruit liqueur topper.
