I've been a fan since their grand opening -- the Meatball Parmesan was the first thing I ordered back then, and today I made a point of coming back just to try it again... and wow, it was just as incredible as I remembered! The flavor is truly indescribable -- the meatballs are perfectly cooked, and the marinara sauce is rich, bold, and unforgettable. The service was fast and very attentive, which made everything even better. There was live music playing during my visit, and it created the perfect vibe. Add to that a clean, cozy, and welcoming environment, and you've got yourself a 10/10 experience. First, it's a nice location. But that's it. They were not busy at all. Very slow poor service. Food was horrible. I ordered buffalo chicken dip. There was no chicken, just sauce. Pizza was ok. The sauce was pretty sweet, not used to that. My husband was disappointed there were only 2 pieces of pepperoni on each piece. $$ First of all, I have to thank my sister, AnnMarie, for traveling to Helen and Georgia with me for a three day weekend to watch hot air balloons. Secondly, I have to thank the ill tempered parking person over at the Cowboys and Angels restaurant and bar for making it so hard to park outside of that restaurant that we ended up heading to the Alpine Café (at the north end of town). There was free parking in the back and Cody, the host, was so kind to help me navigate the car to their parking area. The service was amazing! Christina, our bartender, was absolutely fabulous and we truly enjoyed her company. Kiylee, who was our server, did a great job making sure that our food was served hot and she was attentive enough without being overbearing! We will be revisiting Alpine Café for drinks this evening, and probably drinks tomorrow evening as well. The saying is NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS. Well I have news: The place looked good and friendly. Should have walked away after the hostess skipped us over in line to be seated. Luckily the gentleman behind us pointed to us and said "they were here first". So she sat us, we ordered breakfast, simple a two egg, fries and bacon plate and a sandwich breakfast. 45 minutes later the waiter came out with the people that were there 15 or so after us and apologized for not having our food ready. We told him we were good and we were leaving, he charged us for a tea that was also shitty. Oh well, life goes on. Not going there again. read more

Oh my goodness the nicest place E V E R! We came in asking if we could order to go because we had our husky with us. They said of course or we can set up a table on the outside patio for you! They really went above and beyond. They even brought our little pup a water bowl. A N D they brought him bacon! We ordered biscuits and gravy, F A B U L O U S! Such large portions! DO NOT EVER GO HERE! Poor service. Ask for water and coffee and only get coffee. Ask for plain grits and they bring out cheese grits. Ask if toast can come out first and it comes out with the rest of the food. They charged the table for an extra coffee. Small portions for the price. Potatoes were way to salty while none of the other food seemed to have any seasoning. No one that got the potatoes could even eat them. Half the bacon was burnt, while half the bacon was nearly undercooked. And then, here's the worst part of the already bad experience! They expect you to pay, without seeing your bill. And then the bill wasn't split properly. Instead of placing what each couple had on there actually bill, the waitress just added it all up and divided by the 3 couples. Wr paid $35.02 for the following: 2 egg omelet 2 pieces of bacon 1 slice of toast Potatoes Bowl of grits 1 pieces of toast We have eaten at many places in and around Helan over the years, and this is the absolute worst experience we have ever had! read more

We stopped by for breakfast. I ordered a latte, and my wife ordered a decaf coffee. Both were not good. They arrived in paper to-go containers, which we felt was weird since we were dining in. Both drinks were also watered down, and they had very little flavor. This is not the place to go for coffee. The day prior, we stopped at Yonah Coffee Company down the street, which was very good. Go there for coffee, instead. The main course for breakfast was the breakfast pizza, which we shared. We ordered the pizza with bacon, but it came with ham instead :/ Aside from that misstep, the pizza was pretty good... surprisingly so. It's also enough for two to share, which is what we did. Based on the coffee alone, we would probably not come back here. But, if you don't care about coffee or if you have already had your morning cup of joe, this place is a decent breakfast spot. You just have to be OK if your bacon breakfast pizza shows up with ham instead. read more

The food and atmosphere are excellent but the service is lacking badly. We got there for breakfast at around 8:10 a.m. and were the first ones there. First, the waitress tries to put us in a small corner table when there are around ten empty larger tables available. We actually had to tell her, "I think you can spare one of the larger tables." The coffee wasn't hot and she had to take it back for a fresh pot. The next table that came in did the exact same thing. It literally took 30 minutes to get our food after placing the order. First ones there, mind you. The food was good but we've never waited so long. Prices are reasonable. read more

We had a lot of fun in the mountains going hiking and running around Helen for Octoberfest! Alpine cafe was one of the spots we checked out for brunch and they did NOT disappoint. It was a really nice location and the interior felt like you're inside a cabin in the mountains. We basically got one of everything on the menu and really enjoyed it. The food was 4.5 out of 5 very affordable & the service was 5/5 and we all left feeling very full-filled and happy ! Shout out to Julie for the awesome service she made us feel very welcomed and at home, if you're in town for some hiking or just passing through this is one of the spots I would definitely recommend give it a try you won't regret! Today was our last full day in Helen and it seems as though we saved the best for last. Like everywhere else in this town, service was very friendly and fast. Ordered the French toast and it was just amazing. I loved every single bite of it and my side of bacon was PERFECT. Nice and crispy, plenty of flavors and just great. I had a mimosa which was delicious but couldn't finish because I had a reaction to the champagne (that's a me issue not them though). They also have a coffee shop in the front of the restaurant and on our way out we got a coffee. It was the best one I had in the town. So on top of the food being good, the coffee being great and the service being amazing, I'd definitely be back. This was our favorite restaurant by far. Plenty of flavor. read more

First time here, but been to Helen lots of times! So, the first impression is when I saw it from the outside, it's a small, cozy place for coffee and lunch. But when I walked in, this place is huge! Clean area, Has lots of tables. Tables were made of wood, bathrooms were clean. We came on a slow Monday during lunch, so the service was punctual & nice. The food, had the appetizer garlic knots. Not has soft as other place I go to, but more cooked. So, it has that crunch to it. We then split a pizza, have pep, the other have veggies. NY style which I love (thin)! Pizza was good, fresh. The service and ambiance were the best parts of our experience. Our waiter was friendly and timely; the porch was shaded and comfortable. The food was just ok. We stopped in for breakfast. I had the breakfast burrito, friends had the breakfast sandwich, and hubs had the chicken fried steak. My burrito was standard, as were the sandwiches. Oddly enough, only had the option of scrambled eggs. Not amazing but did the job. Hubs chicken fried steak is the main driver of the rating. It had the taste of being pulled from the freezer and dropped in the fryer. With it being on the main drag in Helen, I would expected a little more effort. read more

In the restaurant side- Our food was ok. I wanted to add mushrooms to my veggie omelette but nope they wouldn't add anything!! A little aggravating but will deal... I noted that in my journal. The only great part of our breakfast experience was that the waitress was super kind & gave us outstanding service!! Then, I went in the next room to the coffee & candy shop side to order me a latte- that was a completely worse experience!! Came here to have breakfast today and the restaurant was half empty, the proceed to sat us down at the end of the restaurant, a dark salon and a dirty table that the host had to clean for us. It was quite funny they chose that section since a lot of tables were open and set up at the main salon. After I inquired if the reservation was required to sit in the main salon and why they put us all the way to the back? The host didn't even bother to offer a different table, she dismissed my inquiry and told me that was any other regular section. They sent the server but we decided to leave. Very rude, not welcoming patrons at all, and on top of that they didn't like the fact we were talking Spanish to each other. Disgusting and racist business. Never again! read more

We were there 11/10/24 . We went in very early and we were immediately seated. Our server was very familiar with the menu and was a great server. Coffee was so fresh and perfect.
