$4 for a cup of water (that's supposed to be a bottle)
    Brandon B.

I stopped by Chaîné expecting a nice little café/bakery experience, but it was disappointing from start to finish. First off, they actually charged me for a small cup of lukewarm sink water when they were out of bottled water -- something that's supposed to be free in the state of NM. When I politely asked about it, the staff were rude and dismissive, like I was bothering them for even asking. I decided to try one of their cookies even though the selection was next to nothing, hoping it would make up for the poor service -- big mistake. It was dry, bland, and tasted like it had been sitting out all day. Definitely not worth the hefty price. Between being overcharged for basic things, the terrible cookies and a small cup of water, and the attitude from the staff, I won't be coming back. There are plenty of better places nearby that actually value their customers. Hard to support local small businesses when they're overpriced and mid.

This is a small French bakery tucked into a quiet side street location. Seriously some of the best cookies we've ever had. I chose the creme brûlée, and it was insanely good. If you have a sweet tooth and appreciate quality baked goods go out of your way to visit this place, you won't be sorry. They have a variety of macarons in delightful flavors, soft cookies, and some interesting coffee drinks. Limited seating both inside and out. Service was slow due to limited staff, a little patience is needed. Also check the hours they're open before visiting.

I accidentally came across this cookie place when taking a shortcut to a museum. It's in a little cut called Burro Aly. Chaine Cookies is the only cookie store in this area. It is a hidden gem. I purchased the crème beulee and lemon something...sorry I was just happy to see cookies The young lady that helped me let me know that the cookies are baked fresh every morning, and they have a selection of macaroons as well. The cookies were two types of chocolate chip one with nuts, and one without, and another cookie called the almond croissant. The top was sprinkled with slivered almonds. I will definitely return for more cookies. I am so happy I came across this cute little cookie shop.

We wandered into this cafe after visiting the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum. The strawberry matcha latte was very tasty and refreshing! Highly recommend.

Pistachio and Blue Corn are my favorite! All delicious and legit macarons!

Tucked in historical Burro Alley off the Plaza - don't sleep on this amazing gem! These are the best cookies and macarons in all of Santa Fe. The flavors are a beautiful mash up of traditional, unique and unexpected in all the right ways. They have a great coffee menu and the atmosphere is just gorgeous. The creme brûlée cookie is my favorite and I've never had such a satisfying cookie in my life! It's a whole other level. The owner is beautiful inside and out, and her talent and attention to detail, just shines on a whole other level. Santa Fe is so lucky to have her! Pro tip: Get in there early because they sell out fast!!

Each day someone else was working the counter and every single person was inviting and friendly. We tried the iced caramel latte and iced brown sugar espresso. The caramel latte was our favorite. I did not stop in for food since even though the board mentioned gluten-free options, it seemed like the staff wasn't really informed about them. The cafe also hosts several events. Sometimes, my go to is one of their yummy pastries, but if I'm real hungry, I'll go for a breakfast burrito or a Panini with a side salad. The service is so good you leave feeling like an old friend of the staff. They are warm, engaging, and always happy to see you. The ambience is chill with plenty of places to sit and chat or work. There's good music playing in the background and great events going on throughout the week at various staggered times. The location is smack dab in downtown with a gorgeous view of the famous Seret and Sons from their large windows that let in tons of lovely natural light. I stopped in last week and ordered a black forest cake slice to go. I was thinking that a little sugar with coffee in the morning was good. I also knew that Gayle wouldn't snack on it as she doesn't like fruit and chocolate mixed together in a dessert. The "to-go" line was a little slow, mostly due to a combination of chatter and specialty coffee drink preparation. But I wasn't much in a hurry. And once that was out of the way, the transaction proceeded smoothly, including a nice box to carry it home.

Walking the streets of Old Town Santa Fe, you wouldn't think this is possible. But sit down in front of the large fire place, order the quiche or sandwich of your choice. We loved the flaking of the quiche pastry and savoriness of the fillings. We also had Croque Madam and baguette sandwich with the onion soup. We enjoyed the personal touch of our server who made us feel like regulars coming to visit a long-time friend at work. We couldn't leave until we had a box full of pastries to try later and it was all we could do to not consume them all in one sitting. Thanks for the comforting afternoon.
