Organic, grass fed smoothies for the win! Gala, the sweet woman who runs the truck, is fantastic! Always a pleasurable experience.

We came in here on our last day visiting Santa Fe in the summer and I'm so glad we did, as it was on my list of things to try after perusing Yelp for notables. I had a scrumptious white bean-roasted red pepper-melted cheese tartine on delicious, fresh house-made bread topped with a balsamic glaze. I think it was one of the better dishes I had while in town. It was served with an array of olives on the plate. So good! They were out of the egg salad sandwich by the time we arrived, which was something a family member wanted to try, but they ordered an avocado toast instead. Also great and served with olives. The service was fast and thoughtful. Order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. We found a great shaded spot outside for the five of us with a view facing the bustling bakery inside. Many people brought their bikes or dogs (allowed outside only) and met up with friends to eat and chat. At one point a server brought out an order of bread that we did not order, but he left it with us anyway, free of charge. So glad we got to try Sage Bakehouse and I'd definitely visit several more times when in the area!

Them - Okay, so you want the club? Me - No, just turkey, chicken, bacon. Them - We don't have chicken. Me - Okay, turkey and bacon please. Them - So, the club? Me - Sure, the club. But no ham or mayo. Them - we can do a chicken breast. Me - Sure, that sounds good. Them - Okay, so you want the Santa Fe (or whatever it is with chicken breast, green peppers, and onions). Me - No, I would like a gluten free sub with turkey and bacon. Them - Oh, so the club. Me - Yes, but no ham or mayo. Them - Sure. What I got was a gluten free sub with chopped up chicken breast, turkey, bacon, and HAM. I took off the ham and gave it to the dog. It was an okay sandwich, but the amount of work that went into getting what I was asking for was painful and unnecessary. Just curious...is incredible stupidity a prereq for living in NM? Had two other encounters traveling through the northwestern corner of NM today where everyone was complete idiots. It was incredible to encounter that much ignorance in such a short amount of time.

My iced latte was also divine. They had some really good looking desserts too but I didn't leave room for those. This was definitely one of my favorite lunch places in Santa Fe. Sooo good!!

There is plenty of seating in the room next door, and it appears they may be expanding that room. In the main room, you walk up to the counter and order, then your food is brought out to you. We got sandwiches and bowls and the food was great. Fresh and healthy. I also got some kind of maple cream cold brew; I did have to ask for more maple flavor because I wanted my drink a bit sweeter, and the barista graciously added it without charging extra. They seemed to have interesting pastries and bagels, and the shop is also a market with fancy snacks and other provisions. I was tempted to take home a unique chocolate bar or jam, or something savory like a wacky bag of popcorn, but we were maxed out on snacks at our Airbnb, so I refrained. They had a wide selection of this kind of stuff. All in all, it was the perfect spot to grab lunch in the late afternoon while cruising around the Plaza on a hot day. The service was friendly, and so were the other customers!

They also highlight the reasonable prices, generous portions, and the cozy, authentic. I had the Chile Rellenos, and "amazing" feels like an understatement. They were perfectly executed: the chiles were tender yet held their structure, the cheese was beautifully melted, and the batter was light and golden without being greasy. What really sets them apart is the depth of flavor in the sauces. Whether you go red, green, or "Christmas," you can taste the authenticity and the quality of the ingredients in every bite. It's the kind of meal that makes you want to slow down and savor it, yet leaves you planning your next visit before you've even finished. Between the incredible service and the standout flavors, Tune-Up Café is easily one of the best culinary experiences in the city. A must-visit for locals and travelers alike!
