This place gives me diner vibes. We arrived during the week and it was not too busy. We were seated almost immediately with friendly service. There is bar, dining room and outdoor seating available. There were so many options on the menu. We ordered the posole and hatch green chile cheeseburger. Both were good. Everything came out hot and flavorful. Came here for a big family brunch and had the most wonderful experience -- definitely one of my favorite places we ate at during our whole trip! I tried my first sopapilla here and it honestly changed my life. I was worried it would be greasy and heavy, but it was light and fluffy and tasted amazing with the whipped butter and honey. My partner and I shared the beef stew with green chile, which was delicious -- the green chile added so much flavor. We also shared the pancakes (they were just okay) and the breakfast burrito with green chile, which was pretty good. My grandma ordered the gluten-free French toast, which came with whipped pecan cream and green apples, and it was so delicious that I wished I had ordered it myself. We started with the appetizer trio -- tortilla chips with pico de gallo, guacamole, and queso with green chile -- and that was also pretty good. My wife and I are frequent dinner at the Southside. The food is generally good and some dishes very good. The staff is professional and attentive. This a great ham and eggs place. The ham is bone in and the hash browns are cooked to order. One issue bothers me every time we have breakfast. The butter (probably vegetable margarine masquerading as butter) always is cold and hard as a New Mexico rock. You get a big scoop of the spread on your toast, which is usually cold, that just sits there. There is no possible way the material will melt. You end up with cold toast covered with an cold off-white paste. Same goes for the hotcakes. Be great to have rich butter that is spreadable. Too much to ask? read more

The food at the Plaza Cafe off the main square is excellent. Be sure to try their Boozey Shake. It will have you walking on sunshine. The food was also excellent at the Southside location as well. I had never been to this location, so I was excited to try it out. But what would have been really amazing was if their service didn't just show how little they actually cared for their customer. I waited for about fifteen minutes to be seated. There was nobody else there waiting. Almost half the tables were empty and they didn't close for another two hours. And yet while I seemed to have all this going in my favor, I just stood there looking over at the three waitresses leaned up against the side of the bar (and a very nice bar it is) talking to the bartender. I know they saw me, because I watched them glance at me from time to time. Yet there they were, just ignoring me until I finally had enough and chose a table to seat myself at. Then I waited for another fifteen minutes before somebody decided to be my server, and yes, I was sitting in an occupied section of the restaurant. The food was still very good, but even when it was time to pay I almost had to be my own cashier. Tip to management: When you have plenty of employees but get reviews like this, it's probably because you employees are doing the Quiet Quitting thing. read more

This place was recommended to us by the receptionist @ our hotel and it did not disappoint. I had the enchiladas emoladas and my friend had the crispy fish tacos, which both came with rice/beans. We also had the guacamole/salsa with chips. We couldn't praise the food enough.....all was very delicious. Service from our bartender, Enrique, was immaculate. He was very informative and knowledgeable. Our drinks were very, very tasty (michelada & mango margarita).. From the outside, you could not see how nice it looked inside. Seems appropriate for downtown Santa Fe but not for the backside of Lowe's. The green chile is very good.. the red is not..tastes like uncooked masa. Even the fries weren't great. A fun diner stop on the Southside. They have lots of space for any size groups. The waiter was helpful and knowledgeable when I was trying to decide what to have. I settled on their new salad the Green Goodness and added steak to it. The salad itself was delicious and filling, the steak was kinda chewy so it took away from the whole meal but overall I liked the salad. We also got a house margarita that was good. Went here recently on a Saturday night. Place wasn't too full. Service was ok. Food was disappointing . My mole chicken enchilada plate came with not fully cooked rice (rice was hard and crunchy), some beans and a sopapilla. The chicken inside the enchilada was extremely dry and lacked any flavor. Mole sauce was ok. The sopapilla was extremely doughy. One of my girls got the cheese quesadillas which were made of really thick tortillas and very dry. Another child ordered the bean burrito which also came in a thick and heavy tortilla that was difficult to swallow. The kids meals need a kid friendly soup or sauce to help swallow the meal. We also ordered a Greek salad with grilled chicken which was the best and most expensive dish. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place but if you have to go I'd recommend ordering a salad and staying away from the "New Mexican" food. read more

We stopped in today for a nice lunch just before heading to Meow Wolf Santa Fe. The restaurant is bright, beautiful, clean and very well run. We were seated immediately and had drinks within two minutes. Our waiter, Enrique, was incredible. Fast, friendly, efficient and very good at his job. I ordered spicy fish and chips and my lovely date ordered a cheeseburger with a side of beans and rice. We shared a carrot cake for dessert. Our bill was very reasonable and we left both happy and well fed. The people of Santa Fe are lucky to have this incredible eatery. read more
