    Appetizer Trio
    Diane C.

Came here for a big family brunch and had the most wonderful experience -- definitely one of my favorite places we ate at during our whole trip! I tried my first sopapilla here and it honestly changed my life. I was worried it would be greasy and heavy, but it was light and fluffy and tasted amazing with the whipped butter and honey. My partner and I shared the beef stew with green chile, which was delicious -- the green chile added so much flavor. We also shared the pancakes (they were just okay) and the breakfast burrito with green chile, which was pretty good. My grandma ordered the gluten-free French toast, which came with whipped pecan cream and green apples, and it was so delicious that I wished I had ordered it myself. We started with the appetizer trio -- tortilla chips with pico de gallo, guacamole, and queso with green chile -- and that was also pretty good. Overall, my favorites were the French toast, the sopapilla, and the beef stew with green chile!

    Turkey Melt

That turkey melt hit SO GOOD. Melty cheese, crispy bacon, sweet onions, and smooth avocado = joy in every bite. I'll be haunted by this sandwich for a while.

This is a must when you're in Santa Fe, literally EVERYTHING is good and the service is impeccable! We started with margaritas and they are fresh, refreshing, and not too sweet! Highly recommend the prickly pear! We live in LA and DREAM about the green chile queso, and it once again did not disappoint! We ordered 2 orders and cleaned the bowl! Then for entrees we got a variety from New Mexican staples to the turkey club with the green chile sourdough, to the chicken fried steak, to the Green Goddess salad and all of them were 10/10! No notes! Then although we were so full, we had to get dessert! We went with the key lime pie and the coconut cream pie, and dare I say the coconut cream was life changing! The key lime was also delish, but the coconut cream altered our brain chemistry! We are counting down until we can come back!

Service was fast even tho it was BUSY! Cute patio seating, it's covered so it's not too hot. Surrounded by flowers :) I order the New Mexico steak and eggs with red and green chili! It's was delicious! If you're in the area stop and try it.

Spinach salad with mushrooms and bacon vinaigrette

not a fan of Plaza Café on the plaza. But this location on southside is much better. Enjoyed a fresh spinach salad and my husband had eggs with sausage and cheesy hashbrowns. Excellent service. Will definitely be back.

Just call it mango juice because that is what it was. The only bright spot of the entire meal was our waiter. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely great. I ordered the barbacoa plate, which came with four incredibly tiny tacos and beans. For $22, I was honestly shocked at how little meat was in each taco. Maybe a tablespoon at most. On top of that, the barbacoa had so many burnt pieces that they completely overpowered the flavor. I could barely taste anything besides char. I only finished it because I was starving. The beans were somehow even worse. They tasted like plain boiled beans with absolutely no seasoning. Not even salt. My girlfriend ordered the chicken enchiladas with mole for $28, and they were just as disappointing. It was basically two tiny rolled tortillas with the chicken sitting next to them instead of inside them. It made no sense. The mole sauce was decent, but it leaned much sweeter than savory. The only thing we left talking about was how disappointed we were. For the prices they charge, the portions and quality were nowhere close to worth it. We actually stopped at the Valero down the street afterward so I could grab a Milky Way ice cream because I was still hungry. That ended up being the best part of the night. Restaurant was beautiful too I guess.

I have been coming here for thirty-five years, and it blows my mind that after more than three decades, it keeps reaching new heights while fiercely retaining everything that made it legendary in the first place: the unbeatable high quality, the remarkably affordable prices, and those effortlessly cool, historic vibes. It is a rare, beautiful gem that refuses to compromise its soul, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. This visit was extra special because my fiancé was a first-timer, and he was instantly converted, falling just as madly in love with the magic of this place as I did decades ago. On this particular afternoon, the lines were wrapped around the courtyard and the energy was absolutely electric. It was hella busy, which is a testament to how beloved this institution remains. Rather than waiting for a table, we decided to grab our food to go--a move that turned out to be pure perfection. We took our feast over to the historic plaza square, found a spot to sit, and ate under the shade of the trees while listening to live music drift through the air. With a beautiful, cool mountain breeze rustling through the plaza, it was the most quintessential, magical Santa Fe experience you could ever ask for. As for the food, it remains an absolute revelation. I ordered my enchiladas "Christmas" style, split right down the middle with both their famous, deeply savory red chile and their bright, perfectly spiced green chile. The first bite instantly reminded me why no one else can touch what they do here. The blue corn tortillas were tender, the cheese was perfectly melted, and the chiles carried that robust, earthy, authentic New Mexico heat that warms you from the inside out. It is a flawless execution of culinary tradition. To be able to deliver that level of world-class, scratch-made perfection at a price point that still feels incredibly generous is nothing short of a miracle. Whether you sit in their enchanting, labyrinthine dining rooms or pack it up for a picnic on the square, The Shed is the absolute pinnacle of the Santa Fe spirit.

The red has that deep, earthy flavor with just the right kick, while the green brings a brighter, roasted heat that balances everything out. Together? That classic "Christmas style" combo that hits on every level. The masa was soft and flavorful (not dry like you get at some places), and the filling was generous and well-seasoned. The sides sealed the deal--fluffy Spanish rice, hearty beans, and a fresh, crisp salad that cut through the richness perfectly. Portion size was solid, presentation was clean, and everything tasted like it was made with care--not rushed, not watered down for tourists.
