Yelp doesn't lie when it comes to a 5 star business. I purchased a Groupon deal for $45 for a 60 minute European facial and a 10 minute foot massage (regular price $96 for both) after checking out the business on yelp and seeing the amazing reviews. Maureen was extremely quick in returning my initial phone call and gave me several options to schedule my appointment, all within a two week period. She does have limited late hours, but works for herself and therefore is flexible with her scheduling. The studio is a large one room space, divided into different areas...waiting area, reception desk, facial area, changing room, etc. It is a calm space with lots of beach themed decor. After changing into a strapless wrap/top, Maureen first did the facial which was really great...I have only had a few facials in my life, but this was one of the better ones. I was very relaxed and calm, even while we chatted during the first half of the services. Once she moved on the foot massage towards the end of the services, I was definitely in a zone of total relaxation. So much so, that I drifted off to sleep for a few minutes before realizing she was almost finished. I had a hard time sitting up and getting off the table and back to reality at that point. I was impressed with not only her skills as an esthetician, but her friendly nature as a person and as a professional. She offers an array of services including facials, nail care, waxing, and Reiki. I would definitely return and pay full price for her services and plan to do so in the near future. read more

If I give a 10 star rating, I would and I can only hope my review does justice to the service and facial treatment I received! The service from start to finish was absolutely exceptional. I originally saw a business card for Cheat the Clock Skin Care about a year ago if not longer. Of course, just never made it here until now. My boyfriend surprised me with a Groupon deal that included a facial, 10minute foot massage and glass of wine. I tried to schedule an appointment last month and left a message; Maureen returned my call in a timely fashion, but I was so busy with work I couldn't return her call right away. Fortunately she had left a detailed message regarding hours and availability. The 2nd time I called, I left a message and she returned my within 10 mins, I was able to schedule an appointment. Upon arrival, Maureen gave me a very warm welcome and asked if I preferred white wine or champagne (after a long day of work, I couldn't think of a better way to greet a first time customer). I went with the the white wine (I can't remember the name, but it was very good). I sat down and reviewed the menu/selection of facial treatments available per the Groupon. Maureen was very helpful and informative in helping me make a selection. I chose "Le Grand Classique" (Deep pore cleansing/restoring facial). She lead the way to the back area and changing room, overall the ambiance is very peaceful and "beachy". I changed and laid down on the heated treatment table. She told me if I got too hot to let her know; I'm always cold so I figured that wouldn't be the case...I also told her I'd probably fall asleep on her, and she said she wouldn't take offense :) Prior to jumping into the blackheads and whiteheads on my face, Maureen paused to ask to me if I'd be comfortable with extractions; even the extraction process (which is normally painful) was comfortable and soothing; the cleansing, steaming, hydrating and Maureen's application technique far surpassed any facial treatment I've received in Fairfield County including Fairfield Plastic Surgery and Pia Lauren. I was in heaven; it was absolutely divine. I left floating on "cloud 9" and thinking of ways to ensure I fit monthly treatments into my schedule and budget! Thank you Maureen! This lady doesn't even deserve one star. I made an appointment based on the good reviews on yelp. She suggested 9:30am on a Wednesday; perfect, I was just starting my maternity leave that week since I am 9 months pregnant. I showed up at 9:20 and the door was locked. So I'm sitting outside waiting, and I texted her - I had her number since she had confirmed the appointment via text a few times. I told her I was there. She writes back that she is on her way. Finally at 9:37 she pulls up, and now I'm already turned off because this is very unprofessional and I've never been to a spa or salon where the owner wasn't already there and ready when I arrived. She took her time getting out of the car, walks up with a laundry bag full of stuff and says hi. I said "hi..."... she immediately says that I don't have to stay if I don't want to. I laughed and said wow, okay. I got up to leave and walk to my car. She turns to me and yells that I am rude and that she told me she was on her way. I told her this is extremely unprofessional and good luck finding clients acting this way. Mind you, she's yelling at a 9 month pregnant person in a parking lot in front of a hair salon with its door wide open. Yeah, real classy lady here. I've had facials in San Francisco, Boston and... Milford! Probably the best facial ever. First of all, the space is cozy and adorable. Maureen is so warm and welcoming (even though she claimed she was having a "blah" day). I got the "Le Grand Classique; 1 1/2 hours of pure bliss. It included a ten minute foot massage and a back rub with hot stones. I agree with Tricia Z above; this is not a cookie-cutter spa experience. It's personalized one-on-one treatment. This was the worst experience I have ever had. To begin with, Maureen was 15 minutes late to my appointment and barely apologized for being so late. She showed up looking very unprofessional in a T-shirt, jeans, and flip flops. I was willing to overlook these things based on the good reviews here. I wish I had not. I was getting my eye brows done and explained that I like to keep my brows thick and showed her where to make sure she did not take too much off. She fumbled over my first brow, unsure where to keep her table or which side to work from. When she finished the first brow she showed me and I nicely let her know that she went too thin (and right where I had told her not to). She argued that it looked "much better than it did before." I just said it is not how I like my brows. She went on to do the second one and when she showed me that one I started to shake. My brow starts after the corner of my eye! I have never had someone do such a terrible job on my brows. I again let her know that she took way too much off and just said I would just pay and leave. She began to yell at me that she did not take too much off, told me to get out, and slammed the door behind me. At no point did I raise my voice or become rude. I simply stated that she took too much off and I did not like the way they came out. I was actually in tears when I left because they look so bad. It is clear that not only does she not know what she is doing, but she is also very unprofessional in the way she interacts with clients. I am actually shocked at the good reviews here and question if perhaps she has asked friends to post these things. read more
