There are plenty to choose from compared to potbelly so I gave it a try as I ordered the G-13 which has all the protein I like such as roasted turkey breast, roast beef and bacon. They do toast the sandwiches like potbelly but the taste is way much better than potbelly. The only issue I had was I thought the 8" ($10.69) was enough but I should have gotten the 12" ($14.19). I also ordered the french onion soup but it was way too seasoned and you get a small cup for $6. Stick to the sandwich and you can't go wrong. Highly recommend Cheba. read more

Place is cool and the wait isn't bad if you've got 10 minutes to spare. The food looks impressive at first glance, but once you dig in, most of the subs feel pretty basic. A lot of the clubs use the same foundation -- turkey or chicken, bacon, chipotle mayo, lettuce/tomato -- with just one or two "flair" ingredients, so the distinct flavors end up drowned out by the same seasonings and sauces or become stale by overdone attempts to get through. For example, the teriyaki chicken tasted like bottled Panda Express sauce poured over a sandwich -- overwhelming to the point I stopped eating, not because I was full but because I'd had enough. Funny enough, if you bite into just the bread or veggies, the subtle flavors come through and are actually decent. One of their "spicy" subs I tried another time also lacked any real heat or depth, just felt like something was missing. I've only had a couple of their subs tbh so maybe I got the wrong ones, but it was enough for me to not wanna try more Overall, not terrible, but definitely underwhelming compared to how good they look. Could benefit from more unique sauces, veggies, or bolder flavor profiles. Worth trying once, but not something I'd go out of my way for. TBH even if it sounds dumb I think I woulda had a better time or felt better about spending at sandwich chains that people clown on over the aesthetic. read more

The soda fountain here is absolutely disgusting and problematic for how they must maintain this place. Every other soda was labeled wrong, and half were out of order. It looked so gross and dirty and clearly hadn't had syrups put in half of them. No thanks. The place was a mess. It also took 40 minutes for a sandwich because their systems were running "slow" and wasn't offered anything at all for the obnoxious wait for a single sandwich. The food is pretty good but only because there are no other sandwich shops on the street. If you're a fan of Quiznos you'll love Cheba. Maybe most underrated sub chain. Love their chipotle Mayo and fresh Ingredients, and the variety of different subs you can get. I do have one complaint though. I got a free nug vouchers from Ivy Hall that entitled me to a free mini sub with my order. I have a broken wrist and can't drive to the store. We felt a little confused because we genuinely couldn't tell if the times were infused (they're not) but the place has a lot of personality. I believe I got the Jamaican Red which is the buffalo chicken sandwich. it was huge and very customizable.
