Short-Stop Burger
Jackie B.

StopAlong is definitely a vibe and seems to be the perfect spot to head to after a game of bowling at fireside bowl. We started with the garlic knots which were a great warm up and then I ordered the short stop burger which was very satiating and flavorful, not to mention the fries were delicious as well. Our table also ordered all the right moves pizza which was delightful. To top it all off, our serve Dillon was great and super accommodating for our requests. A great place to stop by with friends for a casual dinner.

We had our son's 3rd birthday party here this weekend and cannot say better things about this space. We had the back outdoor patio and had plenty of space for about 25 people. There is games and basketball outside so the kids had a blast. We have always loved the pizza and burgers here. Unbelievable food and everyone was raving on how many pizza options there are. My personal favorite is Return of the Spaceballs. Lastly, we had the best server. He was so attentive, kind and patient with our large party. He really was incredible on checking in on us and making sure we had an amazing party.

"All the right moves" slice was a 10/10! it was my first time coming here for pizza and it was delicious! The hot honey isn't too spicy. Will definitely be coming back!

This was our first food stop in Chicago, just a few steps from our airbnb and we were not disappointed. The interior is a basic bar with tables and I think a few arcade games but we were there mid day and chose to sit on the patio. It was like 2pm so it was more or less empty the entire time we were there. We had a shady seat but had a great view of the perfect weather and the food was delivered quickly. We loved the pizza and the animal style fries were very fun. I would have loved to come here again during out time in Chicago.

Half garlic knots

I was craving pizza tonight so we decided to try this new spot in the neighborhood! The pizza was delicious and the slices did the perfect fold in half to eat them. And oh my goodness was the staff kind here! I genuinely think that every single person told us to have a good night as we left. Our server was a little slow on coming back to our table, but nothing too extreme! The inside gives family friendly vibes and the back patio is such a cool spot to hang out on! I appreciated that half of the patio was covered.

Whatamelon craft cocktail... summer with a kick! Watermelon + jalapeño infused tequila and I ain't mad about it!

This is now becoming one of my favorite neighborhood spots. Conveniently located a few steps from the California blue line, this is the perfect stop on the way home from work, or on the weekend, or pretty much whenever you feel like it. I love getting garlic knots, a slice of truffle shuffle pizza and a beer (they have a great slice + a shot special)... chef's kiss! Today I switched it up and went with the bartenders recommendations. The whatamelon cocktail is just lovely... sweet watermelon with a kick of jalapeño infused tequila. Their liquor distributor wasn't carrying the usual jalapeño tequila they use, so they further infused the tequila themselves to make sure it was up to par. I've got to say, goal achieved, this is even better! Adam (bartender extraordinaire) is on his game! I also told him I was going to change it up from my regular slices and asked for some recs... the excitement with which he recommended the Felicity told me I had to try this. Amazing! Unexpected flavors that work perfectly together. I could've eaten the entire pizza myself (or did I?? ) The owner, Robert, is terrific and very active in the community, always helping out. Most recently, I hosted a fundraiser and emailed him on a whim a few days before to see if they could cater - Robert came through and his team totally hooked it up. The food was a hit at our event. I ordered the same amount of pizza that we typically do - all I gotta say is that we always have tons of food leftover. Not this time!

Clean bathrooms Nice staff service I ordered jerk wings all flats for an upcharge. The jerk marinade/sauce was decent not spicy but flavorful. I added a dusting of ghost pepper for heat and it definitely kicked things up a notch. The chicken itself wasn't seasoned and that it what I would have done differently. It was cooked perfectly though. My friend nachos were delicious there was a light refreshing flavor with a pinch of heat because of the jalapenos. Definitely worth eating again. I like the drink options we had classic margaritas and oberon beer. The margaritas were delicious with good flavor and well balanced. The beer nice, cold, and crisp. I would return... But I hope they start seasoning those wings they have so much potential!

The onions were a perfect ratio too. It's a seat yourself place & servers are friendly.

Cafe in the front, party in the back!…read more Beautiful surroundings. Beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. We stopped in early (1pm) for the tail end of lunch service. We had a great time. We were welcomed nicely. Service was really nice. The menu though-- drinks and food are on another level. Everything is just elevated a little bit more. We started with coffee drinks, shared the ham hash, and ended with their mimosa which is better than any other place. Thoughtful, elevated, approachable and wonderful experience. Boom that's my review 10/10 recommend.

We were going to order at the counter, but we were offered paper menus and told we could take a seat in the front area if we'd like to have our coffees there. I ordered the Black Walnut & Honey latte ($7) that was really mild on flavor. My husband had the Crème Brulee latte ($10), which was better but noticeably smaller. The Cinnamon Roll ($8) was fine, but it wasn't worth $8, and it wasn't heated all the way through. Unfortunately, I didn't like the Confit Mushroom Egg & Cheese Sandwich ($6) at all. It wasn't hot, and the smell was a bit off-putting. Despite a lackluster experience, the real disappointment hadn't sunk in yet. When I got home and glanced at our receipt, I realized that they had charged a mandatory additional 20% service fee. I at first thought my husband had unexpectedly left a large tip, but I checked their menu again and saw that it says "For dine in service only: When your bill arrives, it will have a 20% service charge added to the subtotal. This we use to compensate our staff as they deserve for their exceptional work. As such no additional gratuity is expected." I have of course seen this practice done at full service restaurants, but I wasn't expecting this for a café visit simply because we chose to sit and drink our coffees there instead of taking them to go. It was a bit of an awkward space as it was, and we were still going up to the counter to get our food and drinks and carried our plates up when we were done.

The space itself has a great relaxing ambience and the option to sit indoors or outside. In the colder months, there's an enclosed patio. When it's nicer, the outdoor space opens up and there's a fire pit. All of the staff have been kind and attentive. My only very minor complaint is that the bathroom, while nicely decorated, is SO dark. It took a while for my eyes to adjust and may be difficult for those with impaired vision. I'd suggest increasing the light, or adding a few fake candles/small lamps!

We proceed to finish our beers and play a jazz song by a black female singer. Immediately the bartender and some older biker looking dudes next to us start talking smack about the song. They asked if we put the song on? We said yes, and tell us to read the room. So I respond in a very sarcastic tone. "oh, you want us to read the room, would you like us to play some Toby Keith or Kid rock for you?" They smirked and had no response. I strongly believe the place is owned and operated by white supremacist maga brothren's. I would strongly encourage people In the neighborhood to stop supporting this business.

It's not a upscale as it once felt, and the poor service did not help that impression. My BF was lamenting Roots in Lincoln Square closing, but mentioned the one in West Town and Homestead. Neither of us had been since before the pandemic, so we made a reservation for the next week. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated promptly. The roof is cute-- what you'd expect of a rooftop. It took 5-10 minutes for our server to make it over. We ordered drinks and asked for 2 more minutes for the food. That was a mistake. It took him at least 10 minutes to come back. We still had not received our drinks, but he said the bar was backed up. I strongly suspect he forgot to enter them, but maybe not because it took 35 minutes! During most of that time, he seemed to avoid our table so he wouldn't have to field any questions. We ordered the broccolini, which was cooked perfectly. BF thought it needed a little salt, but I liked it. He got the mussels as an entrée and thought they were good, but nothing to write home about. I got the potato tacos, which were excellent. Overall, it was fine. Not quite the nice date night we expected, especially with the service being what it was. 35 minutes for a cocktail is pretty outrageous. However, we never got a dish, and I ordered a second glass of wine part way through the meal and we then finished all our food and waited a bit. The glass of wine never came. I finally called him over, canceled the wine and asked for the bill. I really can't see how this place is still in business. Don't go there. If they can't bring you your food and drinks, why bother?
