I added a dusting of ghost pepper for heat and it definitely kicked things up a notch. The chicken itself wasn't seasoned and that it what I would have done differently. It was cooked perfectly though. My friend nachos were delicious there was a light refreshing flavor with a pinch of heat because of the jalapenos. Definitely worth eating again. I like the drink options we had classic margaritas and oberon beer. The margaritas were delicious with good flavor and well balanced. The beer nice, cold, and crisp. I would return... I've been coming to Cleo's for a few years now and my most recent experience was so disappointing. I opened a tab and asked to leave it open. After finishing my beer I went up to get another and it was closed out without my knowing. I check the charge on my card and it was $15... FOR ONE HIGH LIFE?! The bartend who opened a new tab for me was also really unwelcoming and couldn't even use her words- instead just shook her head yes and no and then rolled her eyes when she couldn't find my tab. I understand that people switch shift but this feels like I can't trust them anymore. Low moral in the overall service. read more

Stopped in during WestFest to escape the heat for a little bit. We got a couple mixed buckets of beer for a pretty great price! Service was great too. The chicken quesadilla was amazing. You don't often find one with meat and veggies and beans in it. I've been craving this quesadilla since I was there over the weekend. I will likely grab one to go this week. Stopped into Cleo's on a Sunday night around midnight with a friend after bar hopping in West Town and wanted a couple more drinks and some late-night food to end the night. Their kitchen was still open, which is awesome, especially on a Sunday night past midnight! We ordered the West Town Child pizza to split, and it was surprisingly so good for bar food--honestly, some of the better pizza I've had in the city, period. The hot honey drizzle made it next-level delicious. The bar itself had a great vibe too; it was my first time there, and there was still a good crowd even for a late Sunday night. I could have sworn I had reviewed this place. I use to come here a lot of Bayern Munich games. Finally decided to come back. The staff here has always been great. We ordered their cheese curds and some Paulaner Hefeweizen. They do unfortunately serve it it cans. While draft is always the best option, I would have preferred a bottle over a can. The beer tasted great. They must maintain their lines well. I had a son of juice and two Yuenglings. Delicious and perfect temperature. Nice and cold. There's so many good options on the menu. I had trouble picking what I wanted. I ended up getting a French onion soup and Pepe's Revenge which were delicious. I was impressed that they had an old-school restaurant caliber French onion. The Pepe's revenge pizza was pretty good. The crust had a nice crispiness on outside and a soft/doey feel in the middle, which made for a good combination. I felt like the pizza sort of melted in my mouth. Great mouth-feel experience The ingredients tasted fresh. Really solid jalapeños. I love spicy, but sometimes it upsets my stomach and whatever jalapeños they used weren't over the top spicy and my gut seems to be handling it well. There was a nice portion of cheese, which may explain the mouth melting experience. Very tasty. And they killed it with the crumbled sausage. I love crumbled sausage. I ended up eating five slices there. One piece when I got off the bus. And another piece at 6 AM in the morning I gave my friend the other slice. I couldn't stop eating it I usually only come here late night, so it was nice having a chill bar food experience. The service was top-notch too. read more

FACT; The server went up to my white friend and told him "he's worried about what he's bringing into the bar" about my Mexican friend and me as a black woman. He took our order, only put in 2/5 drinks and never put in our food. We asked for a manager and he never called one over. So we left Update ; For the owner saying it was as fiction and shame on me.,, I ASKED for a manager and a manager was not on duty according to your staff AND YOUR STAFF APOLOGIZED TO ME so don't tell me what was fiction if you were not there and don't tell me what happened if you were not there. I was SOBER and know clearly what happened. WE DONT WANT TO COME BACK and I can make this a bigger issue with the BBB if you want to take it there. Fun bar that we stumbled into on a Saturday. It was pretty crowded but a large space to fit big groups. I got the Paloma next door cocktail which was refreshing and tasty. Standard bar food, but sometimes that's all I'm looking for. I have a man vs self conflict with my next statement. I've gone back and forth in my head on whether it's a reasonable critique. Read and let me know. So. ..I ordered an Old Fashioned. It was easily the worst I've had. I know. ..I know. ..this is a dive bar, but an Old Fashioned is literally the first cocktail you learn to make as a bartender. Maybe I'm being too hard. Cleo's is Chicago's premier soccer bar. I came here to watch the champions league final and the atmosphere was electric. The beers are pretty reasonably priced and the food is good too. Be sure to get there early for any big games though because they do have a capacity limit. read more

I'm new to Chicago and recently learned that this is Chicago's spot for Bayern Munich supporters. This was my first time joining the crew to watch a Bayern match, and I had a great time! The Bayern supporters were grouped in the back room and most of the customers in the front of the house were watching an English Premiere League match. Two games at the same time made for a lively environment in a chill atmosphere. I ordered a hazy IPA for $7 and a massive platter of nachos with ground beef for $13. The beer was tasty and the nachos were surprisingly good. Others around me seemed to enjoy the shrimp tacos (as a bowl), and I think I might try that next time. Kevin was a very friendly server and definitely made me feel like we're all welcome. Cleo's is a great spot to watch a game and hang out with friends over some good drinks and pub grub. My mistake may have been coming at a non-happy hour, on a positive note is they serve food until 3am. I however went for some wings and beer at 9. It was a good experience overall, the staff were friendly and attentive. The vibes were relaxed with soccer on most of the TVs, Soap operas were on the others. My big gripe is that I paid nearly seventy dollars for twelve halfwings and three beers. I'm a simple man but damn, that's a racket. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Today I debated going to Cleo's. A soccer bar I have frequented for years, but after a few too many bad experiences I'm never going back. Today was just what I needed to make up my mind. Once a while back the bartender never showed up for a 9am kickoff match, and I was left on the sidewalk waiting for answers and for the door unlock for a half hour. Then I was told what happened and headed home. Okay, I get it. Shit happens. A few times we've had some disrespectful staff and today I had the worst service I've had anywhere in years. Waiter was rude off the bat when I asked for pricing of items not on their QR code menu, and later put his hands on me to move me away from their service station. Mind you, they put their self serve water station RIGHT NEXT TO IT. I point at the water station and he finally apologizes. Did I mention later he accidentally poured an extra Guinness for us? Then charged us for 6 when we only ordered 3? I've been in the industry for 7 years and I have never laid my hand on a customer and attempt to move them and I have never seen blatant lack of attention to detail. One of the few soccer-centric bars in the area to watch a game in the city. Sunday morning, was able to grab a table towards the back where they have four tv's playing matches from the Premiere League. Since we already had breakfast at a different establishment, was only going to have drinks. Beer list is superb as they have several local items on both draft and can. Was able to get a pour of the Half Acre Daisy Cutter ($6.50 draft) and a Three Floyds Zombie Dust ($7 can). Our waitress was efficient as she was able to handle the tables without any problem. Also, despite the rowdy soccer crowd, the bar was able to keep everyone socially distant, as they made good use of their backyard as well. Seems like this spot has some great specials as well for each day of the week, so a good spot even if there aren't any matches happening. read more

As usual, the food at Chicago sports bars is always at least decent; in the case of Cleo's, it's much better than that. My wife and I stopped in for lunch and got a meatball pizza and a fried chicken sandwich with tots. Both were strong, although the pizza was the big winner for me personally. For two people, this was a lot of food for $22 (before tax/tip) so the doggie bags were much appreciated! We came recently but with the patio out back, Cleo's is a better fit when the weather warms up. Still, I like the dive-ish feel of the interior and those bathrooms...this isn't your grandmother's cocktail hour! read more
