Toasted, in every sense. Had a craving for a toasted sub today, and since Cheba Hut keeps popping up around DFW, I figured it was time to find out what the fuss was about. Glad I did. The moment you walk in, you're in for a trippy experience -- the whole shop leans hard into the theme, right down to the menu board. Feeling like letting them give me the bird, I went with the White Widow and the Kali Mist. The Widow is chicken, bacon, ranch, mushrooms and provolone on toasted bread; the Kali Mist is a spicy club -- turkey, bacon, chipotle mayo, jalapeño, avocado, pepper jack. Boy, was I not disappointed. Everything comes out hot and pressed, and the bread actually holds up instead of going soggy under all that. If you find one near you, check them out. When we walked in the server was very friendly. The place was very clean and the music was playing pretty good. They do a lot of take out orders. We got the pig and the mediterranean chicken. Was pleasantly surprised about the Mediterranean chicken, but the pig needed more More sauce and more Jordanaire. My husband wish he would've put jalapeños and other peppers on it, which would've made it great the bread was toasted nicely. It did take us a few minutes to get it because they were so busy with takeout orders, but the overall was good. We'll go back. We found out about this place when we were in Las Vegas and our experience there was a five star. read more

e decided to try this place out while we were in the area. Not too bad. The vibes are definitely quirky, abstract, hippie, and chill. This is a great place for small and large groups. They have a bar area too. Service is a combination of self-serve where you order up front and they bring out your order. They have a variety of options for toasted subs and they are unique. We order the Thai stick; their version of teriyaki chicken in the size "blunt"(12" sub) and the G-13; turkey and roast beef in the size "nub"(4" sub). Overall, pretty good! 5 stars for Kool Aid on tap! Came in after a movie for a late dinner. This was our first time in, but had heard great things. The sandwiches were excellent. Highly recommend the garlic bread! I fell in love with Cheba Hut in Denver, so I was beyond excited to see it open in Texas and it absolutely lives up to the hype. The White Widow sandwich is unreal, and the blue raspberry Kool-Aid is next level. So good. Be sure to order ahead during lunchtime they will have a rush and service will be delayed. read more

This was a solid Italian sub. The ingredients were fresh, and so was the rosemary bread. I just wish there were more of the toppings as compared to some of their competitors. I would try Cheba Hut again to see what their other sandwiches are like. read more

Once we went inside, I could tell that this place had to have good food. Appetizers: - we had the pretzel bites which was really salty but good, - Not-Chos that were just nachos but extreme. It was Nacho cheese Doritos and melted cheese, ranch, and hot sauce which made the whole thing amazing. (We had to get another one! The boom! ) Entree: - Ak-47 which was a roast beef sandwich with Auju sauce. we ordered only beef and cheese for the kids which was kinda plain and dry at first but then once my son dipped in it the auju and loved it, they ate it all so quickly - 5-0 the was an Italian sandwich that my husband loved it The service was good and the owner also checked on us and very nice guy. read more

I have been wanting to try Cheba Hut for a while now, so I was so happy when I saw they were finally coming to McKinney. We stopped by on a Sunday night - the place was pretty quiet. Our sandwiches took maybe 10-15 minutes max. I got the Kali Mist without bacon and my husband got the Apollo 13 (but took out a few things and made it his own). The vibes inside are fun - definitely hippie/stoner. Love the character . Such fun murals inside with cool stickers to check out all over the place. I wanna love this place, but they keep screwing up my order. There's a lot that is really good about it but the one thing I really despise is how they don't make it in front of you and this is very shady. They do it on purpose so that they can skimp. It's all bread with nothing inside. I ask for extra veggies every time and I don't ever get them. I have to ask for extra veggies because they don't put hardly anything in the sandwiches. I even asked for extra Giadinera peppers and I literally got two tiny pieces of pepper in a gigantic 12 inch. This is the second time I'm updating my review. I was in contact with the owner the first time it happened and he apologized and made me a new sandwich and it was excellent, but that's the only time it was ever right and good. I've been back multiple times since then. Clearly, he's not training these people well enough. This is my last time coming here. Like I said, I really wanted to love this place and make it my new sandwich home. But it's just not working out. They even forgot my chips one time and my goo ball another time. One time I asked for no tomatoes and the pickle on the side. I got no pickle and tomatoes all over my sandwich. Honestly, there's nothing right about this place and I'm kind of sick of it. Went to lunch for my husband's birthday at this location on a Saturday afternoon. Sat at the bar and was ignored. My husband went to the front and was told by a guy with orange hair "I'll be with you in a minute" and then dismissed him. So he sat down at the bar with me again. We continued to wait and were ignored, even when the person beside us was served food by the same orange haired guy. We gave up so I found the orange haired guy and said "you told my husband you'd be with us in one minute, but don't worry about it, we're leaving and this was his birthday lunch." His response was "we don't have anyone serving at the bar." I said that would've been nice to know. Then he dared to smart off to me by saying "well, you should've asked." My husband has a meeting scheduled already in Colorado with corporate Cheba Hut & will be sure to let them know about the service and why their beverage sales arelow. Because you CANNOT even get a drink menu or get served!! If you're not serving at the bar, you should have someone letting customers that walk in to order at the front. But how are you supposed to get a beverage if no one is serving at the bar. Terrible terrible service with a side of smartass attitude. We went to HopDoddy in Prosper and got welcomed immediately and had our beverages within minutes. If I could give negative star review I would. This was not our first bad experience. read more
