I was part of the original team who opened the original Checkers in Mobile, AL. We were proud to be part of checkers, and strive for excellent food and the rule of timed 30 second service. Stopped here for lunch, and could NOT believe the 7 minutes PER customer service, with staff fumbling everything. Leadership should be appalled. One customer ahead of me said to me, "wish I stayed and waited until Buc-cee's." Sad. read more

Worst Checkers I've ever experienced! I've frequented Checkers in College Station and The Woodlands, and always thought it was pleasant. Yesterday however, I made the mistake of stopping in at the Centerville location for a quick to go bite with my husband. It was completely empty, minus two workers who let us stand at the empty counter for several minutes while they spoke amongst each other and seemed to not even notice the only two people in the establishment. My husband ordered wings and they stated they were out of wings, so he opted for a milkshake and was told the "milk machine was down". He decided to have a salad from the gas station next door, while I ordered a 1.00 cheeseburger, small fries, and mozzarella sticks. I asked for my burger with pickles and Mayo, Ranch with my cheese sticks, and to please put ketchup in the to go bag. The order seemed simple enough, seeing as I was now the only customer. I tried to pay with a 100$ bill and was told they couldn't break 100 so I had to go find my spouse to grab smaller bills, returned and sat down in a chair right by the counter, where I proceeded to wait for about 15 more minutes while I watched the two move at snails pace. I honestly started to believe that they were either extremely stoned or possibly English was a second language and they were immigrants who didn't understand fully, how the fast food industry works. I am handed my bags, no have a nice day, no words spoken at all, and I walked out literally wondering if they had been taken by body snatchers because it felt like a weird twilight zone episode. You could talk to them but tell no lights were on if you know what I mean. I open my bag and see no ketchup, run back in to get some and again, zero words, slow sluggish movements, and I was out the door convinced I would never go back. A few miles down the road I notice no ranch for my mozzarella sticks, my burger order was just plain with no condiments, and I wondered how in the absolute hell can you screw up every single component on the one and only order you had, and there were two of you? Two adults couldn't figure it out when it was literally the ONLY thing they had to do? NEVER would I even think of putting forth the effort to even open the door at this location, let alone give them my money until they really step up on employee standards because it was almost laughable how bad it actually was for the clientele. Its inside a gas station but its very spacious. Service is good and so is the food. I live in Dallas and I had previously visited this location during their posted business hours and was disappointed to see them closed when I arrived. On this occasion, I made sure to call ahead of time to see when they would be closing. They had told me 10 and when I arrived at 9:30 they had told me they were closed. This location needs to do better and until that happens, try elsewhere. I have always used the drive thru and have never had any problems. The wait time is no longer than any other fast food restaurant and the servers are always friendly. The cheeseburgers and the bacon roast beef burger are delicious. The fries,to me, are even better than McDonalds! read more
