My part of the Dijon Chicken with green beans and coleslaw.
    Janet G.

While I know this Cheddar's has had its share of issues, we decided to try it again anyway. We met a friend there at 11:30 and the parking lot was almost empty so we were a little hesitant to go in. We decided to try it anyway and are so happy we did!! The hostess was very pleasant and seated us right away. Our server came immediately and took our drink order. His name was Johnny. What a pleasant and upbeat young man. He brought us those sinful croissants and took our order. My husband and I ordered the Dijon Chicken with Mushrooms. It came with 2 sides- we chose green beans and coleslaw. Our friend ordered the same thing. The food came out fairly quickly and it looked delicious. Looks did not disappoint because one bite was enough to know it was just as delicious as it looked. The chicken was on top of a bed of rice so actually it came with 3 sides. The flavor of the chicken was fantastic. It was seasoned PERFECTLY and so flavorful. The green beans were also seasoned perfectly. The coleslaw was just so-so:not horrible but not something I cared to finish either. The entire experience was nothing but enjoyable from beginning to end. Johnny was an excellent server and the restaurant was clean with a pleasant atmosphere.

They really need to figure out if they want to be in business or not. Always a long wait. Never enough wait staff. Some of the food was cold and the meals came out at separate times. Pay for more servers and staff to entice the customers to come back. I do not plan on coming back again to the Albany location.

    Honey butter croissants-very good.

Friendly and helpful. I knew that I wanted the catfish but not sure of the sides. Tera went over every side for me. I settled on candid yams. As I waited for my catfish to be cooked, I looked over all the jersey memorabilia they had from various sports teams and fraternities. This place gets super busy I was told. Thursday nights they have karaoke starting at 5pm. My catfish order came out. It had buttery grilled toast as a side, topped with lettuce and tomatoes. I'm a southern girl, I only needed the Fish and bread. The fish was perfectly season. All I needed to add was some hot sauce. OH My Gosh- Delish As I say enjoying my meal, old school R&B was playing. I truly enjoyed the serenity of my dinner. I'll definitely be back when I'm in Albany GA in the near future.

The cooks, although I didn't get their names, my food was perfect, the pork chop, collard greens (bam)! I saw reviews about the french fry because they are cut and frozen. But the cooks knew how to season them perfectly. I don't know if it was the southern charm, or the southern hospitality of the staff, the DJ and the patrons, but we could not have picked a better place to celebrate this monumental quest. I'm so glad we made new friends. I WOULD RECOMMEND

The Silo is a small, meat and three, cafeteria-style restaurant, with a small, humble range of choices obviously cooked fresh. There really was only a plate option available with your choice of entree (fried chicken/meatloaf), 2 sides, cornbread, dessert (only pie that day), and sweet tea. The chicken was piping hot when we got it, tender and juicy but could've had a little more seasoning. The mac and mashed potatoes were decent, as well as the cornbread which had a nice bit of crust. I really liked the peanut butter pie I got, not too sweet and light enough to finish after a pretty heavy meal.

For $9.95 you got, an entree (Fried Chicken Quarter or Baked Spaghetti), 2 veggies (MacCheese, Green Beans, Rutabaga, couple of others), Peach Cobbler, biscuit/cornbread, and tea. For a bakery, a DEEP south one at that, you would expect the cobbler to be really good...not so much. It was all edible, but something was off, perhaps it just wasn't seasoned enough. Like there wasn't any sugar or salt in anything. Everybody was super friendly, and these folks were FAST! The restaurant was clean and comfortable. It's one of the only food options in town, and the only thing available on this Sunday.

They had both fried and baked chicken, fried pork chops, turnips, rice, black-eyed peas, mac & cheese, fried green tomatoes, steamed okra, and dressing. I had the fried chicken along with the turnip greens, black-eyed peas, and fried green tomatoes. Every single bite was fresh and delicious. From the moment we walked in, it felt like visiting your favorite aunt's house on a Sunday after church. The food was hot and fresh, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Everything was well-seasoned, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The dressing was a tad dry but still flavorful. The collard greens may have been cooked with pork, which I don't eat, so I didn't have them--but I did taste them. They were finely cut, well-seasoned, and definitely not from a can. As I was leaving, I was asked about my experience, and I later realized I was speaking with Ms. Gladys herself. She was sitting in the lobby, observing and ensuring that everyone had a great dining experience. I highly recommend this place for both the food and the hospitality. This feels like "down home"
