I've visited this location a couple of times since it opened. The food was really good both times. I ordered the fried shrimp with rice and a Caesar salad. The salad was delicious. They also have the best croissants in town. They are addictive. The servers were really nice both times. Service was much faster at lunch than dinner. Dinner took us about an hour to get our food. They kept giving us croissants for the wait. They do automatically add gratuity for large parties. Parking is good. There are plenty of spaces. There was no wait to sit each time. Stopped here for dinner, first time at a Cheddars. I travel extensively for work and normally avoid chains but Albany...well you take what you can get. Admittedly I went in with no expectations. I was blown away by the service. Our server Dash is hands down the most amazing waitress I've ever met. This is coming from a guy who eats out 5+ times a week throughout the U.S. and overseas. Dash is one of the most genuine sparkling personalities I've ever met not just as a server but in life. Her service skills are top notch, drinks refilled before they were empty, making sure we were OK, offering us anything we needed, even at time of check out we needed to go boxes and I think she has ESP. Right as we were ready to ask, boom here's our take away containers. We asked to speak with the manager and let him know just how amazing Dash was. She really made it feel like we were at home. The food was surprisingly good, plentiful, and cheap. She did what she had to with us and others around us but without a smile or attentiveness. We heard one of her friends say something and she replied "well you know how I feel about Saturdays" ... When Cheddars first built their location here I didn't go there for a while and then I had moved away for about 2 years but ever since I came back I've been going a lot and I gotta hand it to this place they've got some good food. In no way is the menu or atmosphere ho-hum like some other establishments in town. Their drink selection is pretty great too but I wish they wouldn't cut people off unless they were like obviously really wasted. I'm a big guy and I drink a lot of alcohol so naturally I need a lot of alcohol with my meal to have a good time. If they could change anything that would be it. I want to be able to get like 3 painkillers and several beers when I go. I go to work every day ya know? I pay my taxes? I should be able to get decently messed up at a local restaurant if I want. The wait for a party of three for a Saturday night was not long at all. The atmosphere was nice. Our waited seemed like a nice guy but very inexperienced and awkward. He brought the wrong kind of shrimp with my meal, he noticed it when he got to the table but instead of just bring out more shrimp he made me scrape it off my plate onto a little dish. I have been here several times and have had great experiences. This experience is by far the worst. I called my order in at 710pm. Got to restaurant about 750 and order was bot ready. Waited10 to 15 minutes before i was even acknowledged. Waited another 10 minutes before asking about my order. The server didnt even remember the name because he never went to the back to check on my order. Finally soneone came out and still waited another 15 minutes for them to come out all to tell me that the crescent rolls had not come out right and offered something else in the pkace of it. Opening night was packed, but this place was well equipped, properly staffed, and wait times weren't excessive! Payton was new, but did an outstanding job staying on top of things! She brought a round of refills right before the food was served which is perfect timing in my book. She quickly met any need that our party of six had! The management staff was very attentive to customer service and made sure that we were being taken care of. Fanatical customer service was given to us on Opening night! Chedders is a great family restaurant. It's a restaurant for celebrations, meeting with family and friends, or getting food to go for lunch or dinner. Since they opened the wait time has been high on most days but most of the time you get called for a table within 30min or less. Even if you don't like the food you absolutely have to go for their signature drink called "the pain killer". It's a VERY flavorful drink and has just the right amount of alcohol. Great addition to Albany. Went on a Friday at appx 12:30 for lunch. Was seated within 5-10 mins. Waiter came to the table fast, drinks served fast, also got food within a reasonable amount of time. Our waiter was also nice and courteous despite all the noise and chaos. Overall good experience at this new Cheddars. I don't live in Albany but will make sure I visit when I come home. read more

I visited this Cheddar's location while visiting family in Albany, Ga. My cousin and I went to this restaurant. The restaurant was clean. The restrooms were clean.....Now let's get to the food. The food was very delicious my cousin and I both had the New Orleans Pasta.....this meal was Deee-licious. The shrimp were medium to large size shrimp (I had to say that because they weren't small at all). The food was season well, well enough for me to come back and try another entrée. The portion was big enough for me to have a second meal later and be truly satisfied. The Texas margarita was tasty I could taste the alcohol in it, not watered down at all. I'm a light drinker so it might be just me, lol. I was very pleased with my meal and I will be visiting the one in Virginia when I return home. My friend and I were in town for the weekend from Atlanta. We've been to Cheddars in McDonough before, so we knew what to expect. Sadly, our expectations were not met. I ordered the Grande Top Shelf Margarita that was to come with Sauza Anejo tequila. I watched the bartender put Jose Cuervo in the drink. I asked her about this and she stated they don't have the one listed on the drink menu and have just been replacing it with Jose. Strike one! That's false advertising and she could've told me rather than just putting it in without asking. We ordered our food. I got a chicken tender salad with ranch. My salad comes out with no dressing. Strike two! I waited an extra 5 mins for my dressing. My friend ordered ribs, shrimp, with a loaded baked potato, and corn. Well, three potatoes later and they finally got it half way right. I was so excited when this place opened and the first visit was almost perfection. However, further visits have soured me bad on this place. First off, the food is always amazing BUT it is the staff that just ruins it. Service is so slow and sometimes you get stuck with a waitress who just vanishes for 10-15 mins. I was very disappointed in the customer service that was not offered during my recent visit 7/9/21. Family members and I went to the hostess to be put on the waiting list for seating, (30 minute wait we were told) meanwhile many other customers were waiting to be seated so there was nowhere to sit while we were waiting on our table. We asked if we could sit at the bar while we waited on a table. While at the bar, the bartender asked if we wanted to order, we told her we were waiting on our table, she said we could order. While preparing to be seated we were told that we couldn't be seated at a table because we ordered food from the bar. We explained that we weren't told that until later and we wanted a table because I have a medical condition that makes sitting on the bar stool painful and uncomfortable. I spoke with the hostess and explained that I could not sit on the bar stool long due to my issues and that is was painful and uncomfortable. She called for management per my request, I spoke with management and she stated that we could not be seated at a table or booth because we ordered from the bar (food) . I again explained my medical issues and asked could we be seated at a table, we were told we could not. We commenced to pay the bar tab and cancel the food order and left the establishment. I will be contacting the district manager regarding this issue. There was no regard to my medical issue and there were several available booths at the time of this occurrence. They lost well over $100+ dollars that night and some very dissatisfied customers. They ruined my birthday dinner. read more

Ok. I go in she says there is a 15-20 min wait asks for my number to notify me. I set my timer for 15mins after it went off I walked back to the front which would've been 20 mins I ask if they texted me cause I didn't get a text she says"yea we texted you 30 mins ago" then we sit down & wait 40 mins for a drink ! After we placed our order we asked for Togo boxes being that we were already there too long & had to leave she didn't bring the Togo boxes until 20 mins till after we got our food. She was not attentive & only had THREE tables. My lemonade was sour & I had to wait 20 mins for her to even come to the table to get a diff. One . My bf didn't get a knife for his steak & didn't get the A1 sauce until he had 2 bites left. My food was cold by the time I got my silverware. She also spoke low af & couldn't hear her nor did she give us enough time to respond she asked were we ok as she was passing the table. After we got her food I literally didn't see her until I had to talk to the manager . I talked to the manager not looking for a discount or anything but he seemed like he didn't care at all !!
