I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Cheddar's. I was traveling with my elderly parents and since we don't have this chain in Vegas we decided to stop. I do remember a couple of years ago when we were traveling we stopped at a Cheddar's in New Mexico and were pleasantly surprised. It didn't disappoint this trip either. I had the fried shrimp and it was absolutely delicious! My mom ordered potato soup but they were out so she was a little disappointed but quickly found something else to eat. All I all I would recommend this restaurant - I was really upset when I realized I forgot my leftover shrimp on the table when I was so looking forward to eating it later on! read more

Cleanliness is obviously not a priority. I don't understand why the menus, check out kiosk, chairs and other highly touched items are not regularly cleaned. Food and service is consistently good. Worst chicken fried steak I have ever had. Very, very small steak with chunks of breading, very little gravy and the breading was so massive it was un-eatable. The baked potato was dry and i didn't enjoy it. Overall a waste of money. The service was average, I felt like we should have seen the waitress a little more. We are travelers driving thru Amarillo, and this is my first Cheddar's. Macy, our server, was stellar and is deserving of a 5 star review!! Unfortunately, the rest of the experience not so much. Macy welcomed and served us with a smile. We arrived an hour before closing. She was so patient when taking my complicated order, and was passionate to serve us during our dinner. She was also vacuuming the floor when the crowds started dying down; there was so much littered on the floor! There are various reviews on Google and Yelp of customers recieving food poising after eating here. Thankfully, I looked through the salmon and it was cooked thoroughly. However, it was significantly salty. The green beans, croissant, and stuffed potato were my dinner highlights. I did have a tummy ache afterwards. Overall, we won't come back to this Cheddar's location. While Macy was the only shining light in this dark town, this town did not treated us well during our short stay. Had a great meal there last evening. Since the restaurant was very noisy, we opted for the bar. The atmosphere was perfect--+just a few quiet patrons. We ordered drinks- large and good! I ordered the chicken pecan salad, and it was bomb! The grilled chicken was seasoned beautifully. And the candied pecans were so delicious. Hubby had the chicken pot pie, also very tasty. There was a chicken salad, with I believe noodles in it that I used to order everytime and it came with a sweet piece of bread, that just melts on your mouth. No big deal. I've been to this location a few times now and its been about the same everytime. The service is slow and mediocre, though this last time was a little bit better. The waiters are friendly, but forgetful. The food: Good, nothing too special. The first time I came, I ate a kids meal mac and cheese. This time, I had their lunch special today: half sandwich with a soup/salad. I ordered the loaded baked potato soup and half the Chedder's club. The soup was great! It was chunky and thick, didn't skimp out on the bacon or cheese. It was the same size as a small bowl off the regular menu. I just wish it was actually hot and not lukewarm. The club was good. It included turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato. Pretty good tasting! The downside it was SOOO SMALL!! Literally like 4-5 bites. I know I ordered half but I was NOT full or satisfied after my meal. I had to add an order of a side of fries for $1.99. My total came out to be about $8.50 for a soup, "half" a sandwich, and fries. Still not that bad deal to be honest since I got a little bit of everything. Drinks: GOOD, at an average price. Overall, it's a chain restaurant. Its not horrible, its not outstanding. Its fair. When driving all day all you want is something that doesn't taste bland or like it's mass produced and we found just the right stop here. Ordered the chicken and shrimp served with rice and 2 sides to stay on the lighter side. Added steamed broccoli and Mac and cheese (yes that pretty much blew the lighter side but I figured if it tasted good it was worth the extra 150 calories). The chicken was so tender you could cut it with your fork and it was moist even without sauce. The shrimp had a little seasoning sprinkled over it to pep it up a bit but the real star was the marmalade served over it with pineapple. The big question was what would come of the sides, either of which are two of the most messed up sides in my opinion. Broccoli was tender and would fall apart when you put your fork in it but wasn't mushy. Macaroni was a delight and had great flavor and was cheesy and moist instead of dry and tasteless like many. Our server was nice and we were seated right away. The food was also good. Sadly, the edge was taken off my appetite by how dirty the restaurant was. The floor in the dining room was dirty, the table sticky. The menus were greasy and dirty, and the first cutlery my wife unrolled had a dirty fork. We were seated near the kitchen and could see into it. There was visible trash and grime everywhere. The whole time I kept thinking "if what I can see is this dirty, how dirty is the part I can't see?" Took my kids to the bathroom and, unsurprisingly at that point, the bathroom was dirty too. It actually looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time (a layer of grime on the mirror). I get that restaurants are short staffed, but there's no excuse for this level of uncleanliness. If we had not been on the road and in a hurry, and if we had realized from the start how dirty the restaurant was, we would not have stayed. It's a shame as we like Cheddars and have had good experiences at other locations. read more

I rounded up by giving a 4. 3.5 would be more appropriate. I was visiting Amarillo, I was desperate for dinner. I wanted to try a place I hadn't been so I tried this establishment. I got my order to go. I really wanted the monte Christo but I don't eat ham so I asked if it could be made with just turkey. The bartender working told me they are pre made and can't be made to order. So I got a cheeseburger well done. My cheeseburger was medium and pink in the center. So I was a little grossed out by that and I wasn't going to attempt to figure out how to get back there to return it. I got the key lime pie dessert. That was good. It was okay. Had the burger been cooked right I would have really enjoyed it. I was there on August 19, 2017. To anyone who works there or THE MANAGER: Are the monte Christo sandwiches actually pre made or was someone bartender, cooks, whoever just being lazy and didn't want to make it? Overall I really like this place. Had the New Orleans Pasta that had the shrimp, chicken & sausage mixed in and it was delicious. My mom had the triple decker club and loved it. Couldn't finish it but really enjoyed it. Cons: Ordered the chips and queso which was fantastic. But then they brought out the main dish before we had a chance to get through the queso. I ordered a house salad on the side and that came out about 15 minutes after the entree. A little disorganized today but overall a good experience. My Mom and I loved this place! We ate here in Amarillo, Texas, and even the customers were sweet. A man upon entering offered to hold our door and ended up paying our tab! Amazingly big hearts there. They give you sweet bread right off the bat that was delicious, I couldn't eat enough of it! Our chicken salad wraps were yummy and so much food we needed to-go boxes.
