Giving 1 star because the croissants with honey butter were delicious! The rest of the meal... Well, cold ( room temp ) and was not cooked to order. This was our second attempt at this place and our last. The first time we went, the food was extra cold. We were told by the manager - who was very nice - that the food is precooked and pre portioned and then warmed up after ordering. Yuck. We came here late night for some food. We sat in the bar and our server was great! It's got a similar feel to a Chili's and the food is typical bar food, burgers, sandwiches, etc. My only issue is that it's hard to do find vegetarian, gluten free and especially vegan options at these places. Hubby and I were in the area and stopped in for dinner and drinks. It was a Thursday night and extremely busy. We sat at the bar top. The bartender was in the weeds but never gave up. The manager that night even stepped up and helped her out. I had the lighter catfish plate and hubby had the chicken tenders. Both dishes were delicious! House wine price is a bit high though. I give Cheddar's a three star because recently they just changed over their menu taking off a few items that I used to get religiously, and that they are a chain and all of the food is prepared exactly the same no matter where you go. What I love about Cheddar's is the variety of mixed drinks that they have and how delicious they all are. The baked spasagna is always a winner for a dinner dish and nothing beats a bloody mary on a hot summer day. This Cheddar's location is pretty neat for a date night because after dinner you have two hard choices, bowling at Brunswick Zone or movie theater night. It is a little far for folks that live closer to the city but I always go here with a crowd and has been worth it every time. I haven't had a bad hospitality experience either so props to the staff here as well. I've had a wonderful time each time I have gone here. read more

We got seated quickly and my food tasted great and was perfectly cooked. Everyone loved the food and the service at the table. The only complaint was that the layout was very open and make the whole area very loud. Our server even had trouble hearing us when taking our order because of the ambient noise. Went here for lunch. There was no wait and we were seated immediately. Another table right near us had just sat down and was ordering drinks. And the table right behind us was seated at the same time. Our server came took our drink and appetizer order pretty quick. Drinks came out and appetizers came out shortly after. After a bit of a wait Both tables that were seated around the same time as us received their food. When our server came back we asked our waitress about our food she said she'd check on it. Continue the wait. The other two tables finish eating get boxes, get their checks, pay, and leave and we were still waiting for our food. A new group came and was seated. Ordered their drinks and food and our food came out at the same time as theirs, and still missing some items. I think either our server forgot to put in our order or there was some sort of mixup in the kitchen but it took forever to get our food and even though the food was fine and the croissants were really good I don't think I'll chance the wait again. The name of this place is so deceiving. It has nothing to do with cheese. It is good southern style cooking. This time 6 people went with me, 6 people raved about how good it was. I loved the ambiance, and we had really fast service despite our server waiting on several other tables and bar-tending. The prices are more than reasonable, which is awesome, being a broke college student. The food, for the most part, was exceptional, although my girlfriend's steak was cooked more rare than she had asked. As someone who prefers to patronize small local businesses, I have to say I was impressed all the way around despite the fact that this is a chain restaurant. $3.99 for a tasty 16 oz house margarita and most of the prices were under $10. Not only were the prices good but the portions were such that unless you're VERY hungry, you will probably have to take some home. At the very least you will leave well satiated. The taste and presentation of the food was not the best I have ever experienced, but were definitely up with the best of much more expensive restaurants. I had expected that, based on its location the food would be priced unreasonably, but this was not the case. In addition my server was pleasant, attentive, and got the order correct the first time...sad that this would be unusual, but many restaurants have service issues. If you're in the Briargate/Northgate area where small local restaurants are few and far between I recommend Cheddar's EXCEPT on Friday or Saturday nights when there's an HOUR wait with no reservations. read more

One of our family go-to restaurants for the last couple of years has been Cheddar's. The quality of food is high while the price is relatively low making meals there an excellent value. I have been trying to eat better lately and their healthier menu choices are decent in number and high in quality. I've had fish a few times and have been pleasantly surprised. Now, I must say, when I am NOT eating healthier I have to recommend the Monte Cristo as it is one of the best out there. Keep I'm mind, if you go this route, bring your appetite. I'm a big guy and have a hard time eating an entire sandwich as they are so rich! I do recommend them though, they are delicious! One reason we also go here is the large fish tank up front which my almost 3-year old loves. It's a well kept tank and I can hold him up to see the fish with no problem. Consistently good food, typically there isn't a wait unless it's Sunday afternoon. The food is good for the price and great service. It's not a five star so don't expect that but it's good food at a great price. I like just about everything I've had there. The bourbon glazed salmon is a go to for lunch, I've had steak, Monte Cristo and a few of the salads and they never disappoint. Sitting at the bar is great because the bar tenders are attentive and the fish tank is cool to look at. Not the best quality and the price is a bit high. I ordered the Tortilla soup and fries. The fries were cold and stale and the soup was stewed tomatoes with cumin. Not a sign of tortilla and there was one piece of chicken that was the size of a dime. Needless to say I spent $8.00 for $2.00 worth of fgod that was bad. My wife ordered veggies, a salad, and a side of Mac and cheese. The salad was ok, but not worth the price and the mac and cheese was pretty bland. This is our second time back and were not impressed. However, the first time we were here, we all ordered burgers and fries, and all was great. The burgers are cooked to perfection and the side of fries was of pretty large proportion. My husband and I have been here several times. We have never had a bad experience or bad food, which says a lot for a chain restaurant with run-of-the-mill, feel-good food. I am on a dairy-free diet due to a recent sensitivity, and once I let the waitress know this, she sent out the chef, Taylor, who was incredibly gracious and helpful with meeting my dietary needs. Our waitress was friendly, and our food came out hot and timely. The atmosphere is rustic and newer; definitely inviting. I'd say come check this place out and see for yourself! read more

I used to think this place very very good. Last night I had a mediocre chicken tortilla soup with a complimentary large bone in it. I very politely notified the server to notify the manager. This is not my choice in restaurants. I was along for the ride. This is the first time in several visits that our meals were good. As a mater of fact, the steak was seasoned perfectly. Beer batter shrimp was good. Downside .... Salmon didn't get blackened liked he ordered and the bourbon sauce wasn't on it either. Ironic...it's the way the waitress suggested it be ordered and it didn't come with anything ordered. I would give this place a 0 if I could! Absolutely terrible service food was extremely late for only 1 person and when that person received food the whole party was done! If you want to eat at a place where the staff, and managers care about what they are serving you, this is not the place. My family, and I ordered three steaks medium rare. All of them were served to us well done, and the bone-in ribeye I ordered wasn't even delivered to me, instead I received a 1/2 inch thick 12 ounce ribeye that my server tried to brow beat me into accepting. When I received the bone-in it was cooked well done as well, as were the other two new steaks we had delivered. The manager that was running expo in the kitchen that we demanded come out (because he wouldn't come to the table) was rude, and couldn't have cared less. If you are in this area of town their are other restaurants very close that are actually good, give them a try before this disaster of a restaurant. read more

This is another big chain restaurant...but a good one. The best thing about Cheddars is the COST/VALUE. They have solid ingredients and good tasting food for very cheap. My favorite dish is the fish tacos which are awesome and cost like 8 bucks. The drinks here are pretty good too, try the Texas Sweettea. Well, that was very disappointing!! The spinach dip was God awful ,, so that started off the experience as being negative. Too salty and sour at the same time. Obviously the staff couldn't care less, because when I sent it back, nothing was said. Then the fish tacos arrived, MINUS, THE FISH!! I felt like I was in a Wendy's commercial, " where's the beef"? Cheddar's is a fun place to go when you want a homey feel without the diner decor. The food is very filling, rich and fattening (just the way I like it) and I would recommend ordering the croissants if you like such things. They come warm, drizzled in honey butter, nothing could be better. The service is great, the bar menu is really fun and the entrees have a good range. While I would love to give them five stars there really isn't anything that wows me about this place. It's just good food and good service. The bar has a really awesome fish tank which makes for a fun happy hour and the discounts are reasonable. It can get pretty crowded on weekends so come early if you're trying to catch a movie at Hollywood Theatres. read more

There are 2 menu items here that I think are the best you can find anywhere: the chicken strips and the onion rings. The chicken strips are thick, with a perfect crunchy/flaky coating. They come with a honey mustard sauce, that I'm not a big fan of, so last time I actually brought my own Cholula sauce with me since they don't have any there- terrific together. The onion rings are even better; they're on the thin side with a flaky coating, not too greasy or dry- they're just right. They're like Popeye's onion rings, but larger and better. They come with a cajun sauce that's like the horseradish sauce in places like Outback, which goes good with them, and ranch sauce, but they are best on their own. Both items are served in big portions and are pretty cheap. The broccoli and mashed potatoes make good sides. But order the broccoli on its own as a side- the steamed veggies with broccoli are bland. The French fries are decent, but nothing to write home about. The only other thing I've had here is the ribs, and they are definitely worthwhile. They come in a combo with the chicken strips, so that's a great choice. Other dishes I saw served looked good too, so I'll be back. No complaints about the service, and I like the look of the place, with the fans and big aquarium. Not too loud, either. This place has been solid the 3 or 4 times I've been there. For being a chain restaurant I was surprised how much I enjoyed my lunch. I had the kale salad with chicken and a swirl sangria margarita. The peanut vinegerette had great flavor. The drink was weak but for a $4 cocktail I can't complain. The patio has great views of the mountains despite it over looks the freeway and the service was great. so in summary good food, great service, and really good prices. My wife and I hadn't been to a Cheddars in over 25 years. The last one we went to was in Fort Wayne, Indiana. So, this was very nostalgic for us. I probably would have given this 3 or 3.5 stars, but I gave it an extra star for the nostalgia. We both had the steak and ribs. I had a baked potato and my wife had green beans. My wife didn't finish the green beans as she didn't like them at all. The ribs were quite tasty; soft and fall-off-the-bone. However, both of us thought the rib sauce was mediocre. Went there twice over the weekend as we stayed at the Drury Inn (in same parking lot). Though there is one closer to where we live...the name Cheddars just didnt peak my interest. My mistake. Best grilled fish taco I have ever had in Colorado. Amazing prices on some of the best Restaurant "Specialty" drinks I have ever seen. Try the Painkiller (limit 2). Our waitress the first night was most likely a rookie...so I wont be too critical. Our bartendar (we went there just for drinks on day 2) was awesome... very talkative...and had been there for quite a while. Also super honest about everything which is always nice. I will be trying the Cheddars in Thornton soon as I have heard from at least 3 people that the Bufflao Chicken wrap is awesome (and i want more Tacos). read more

First time visiting Cheddars. I was impressed with the restaurant. I've been trying to eat healthy so I got the Sweet Heat Chicken and Shrimp. It came with a dark leafy salad with some balsamic dressing all on a bed of rice. I will have to say that the shrimp was cooked just right and the chicken breast was on point. My wife got the nachos. She enjoyed them as well. My son got a burger and was super impressed with it. My other two kids got Mac and cheese and a grilled cheese. The Mac and cheese was a little too sophisticated for my son but the grilled cheese and fries were tasty according to him. Expect to pay what you would pay going to Chili's or Red Robin. read more

Food was good. The chicken pot pie was on the small side for my brother in law. The broccoli cheese casserole was delicious. It was our favorite part of the meal. Good service, nice atmosphere and the service was pretty good. We would definitely eat there again.
