Picanha steak with asparagus
Cheryl G.

First of all, the location is beautiful. It's decorated on a contemporary style with a stunning view of the mountains. The service was impeccable. We ordered the picanha steak with asparagus and polenta to share. The steak was good, but not amazing. Honestly the part of the meal that wowed me was the peppercorn sauce. One major drawback is that the restaurant is open to the bar right outside the entrance. The night we came there was a loud band playing. I'm sure it would be a lot of fun if that's what you came to enjoy, but we wanted a quiet, romantic dinner.

What a wonderful evening with a longtime friend! Beautiful hotel and restaurant! Food and drinks were amazing! The bartender was very knowledgeable and the lemon drop he made me was top notch and the best one I ever had! The food was warm, fresh and flavorful! Our table was situated right by the window where we watched the beautiful sunset! There are three other places to go in the hotel... One is like a sports bar and then there's a rooftop bar. That's a little fancier! Looking forward to trying both of those on another visit! You can also get married here... The grounds are beautiful! I highly recommend this place!

Signature Drinks Menu - USAFA references

Great views of the USAFA cadet area, great location next to the Air Force Academy's Visitor Center. We dined at Pamela's twice during our stay at the Hotel Polaris - once using room service and the second time down in the dining room. Friendly staff, could be faster on the service. Kids meal was a healthy portion side and the french toast was delicious!

4.5 stars I was excited to try out Pamela's for a birthday dinner at the newly opened Hotel Polaris. Did it deliver? I believe so. Pros: - Brand new hotel with a sparkly new eatery. - Service is A+ (from the host to the servers to the manager, everyone is very courteous and attentive) - Ambiance and decor is modern and complimented the dining experience. - Food options are commendable (from veggies to meats, they have something for everyone). - Serving sizes of the main course dishes is on the smaller side, but they are flavorful. (See note 2 in the cons list) - Complimentary drink for the birthday guy was much appreciated. Now, the cons: - I'll take the L for this, but most of the meats with a rub were excessively salty (esp the salmon). I was feeling very conscious given the nice customer service and was too scared to send it back. - I was also surprised with the plating of main course dishes. The Salmon was accompanied by a whisper of a salad, which given the price of the dish seemed weird. (Although they do serve a complimentary bread basket, which was fresh and yummy) - Their bar menu is not very extensive (but I'll give it up to them barely opening; we visited during week 1) That being said, if you're in the mood for a good dining experience at a fancy new location, Pamela's is worth a try. Special shoutout to the manager who also have us a tour of the hotel + The Aviator bar (which was closed that evening).

The Blue Line drink

The entrance to the facility is on the east side. None of the west side doors would open. The new Polaris Hotel just opened the beginning of the month so they may be working kinks out with regard to service. Staff is all super friendly and accommodating. We found the atmosphere in Pamela's to be beautiful inside and will come back during daylight hours to see the view from Aviator on the 9th floor. We had reservations for 6:30. Shortly after being seated we ordered drinks. The drinks did not arrive for 15 minutes. My husband got a beer. Many locals are on tap. Our friend had a non-spirit pina colada she enjoyed. I ordered a Blue Line. It was ok but a bit sweet for me. Water came in a bottle that was convenient to serve ourselves. We needed to ask for a refill. The bread served with dinner was nothing special. It was room temp and fairly tasteless but it looked good. Our friend ordered the burger. It looked large and delicious. Cooked to perfection but the bottom of the bun soaked through so she had to eat it with a fork and knife. It came with crispy fries. My husband got the angus steak. For $48 you would think it would be served with more than one small broiled sweet pepper. The steak was cooked perfectly. I got the mushroom risotto. It was good with plenty of mushrooms and rice. It was dressed with Emerge Hydroponics lettuce, a local growing facility so very fresh. We celebrated a birthday and they comped dessert for the birthday woman. She had the brownie Sunday which was very good but cold out of the fridge. The peach cobbler was very good-served warm with a small bit of ice cream on top. I got the mango pannecotta which was absolutely delicious. I so wanted to like the plate! We'll return again and try Aviator the next time.

Steak with shrimp

My son and date had dinner here on Saturday and many places will look at a 16 year old and dismiss them as a low tip. This restaurant stepped up with great service, provided excellent food and made a great setting for a wonderful night of prom. Well done to the chef, the waiter and the team from this Dad! Thank you for making this a special night for them.

A decent experience at the new Hotel Polaris at the Air Force Academy. The bread basket was amazing, as well as the clam chowder. The burger was just OK. Server was wonderful and attentive!

Pamela's is my new favorite brunch spot! I've been twice in less than a month. The Stuffed French Toast has been my favorite by far (although I've enjoyed all the food I've tried here as of this review). The hot coffee was really good. The restaurant has a modern, upscale vibe with beautiful views. Service has been friendly and attentive. Can't wait to try dinner in a couple of weeks.

Honestly, the exterior doesn't look like much, but that's part of its charm. When we walked up, the young lady taking our order was really friendly and professional, which made the experience even better. Since it was our first time there, she helped us navigate the menu, and I appreciated that. The prices on the menu were reasonable, and I was pleasantly surprised by how generous the ice cream portions were. Although our food took a little while to come out, we didn't mind too much because we got to enjoy the ice cream while we waited. The staff were so warm and welcoming that it made the wait worth it. Overall, I think the friendly vibe and good value here will definitely bring me back for another visit!

We ordered hamburger combos, a pork loin tender sandwich, and a soft-serve dipped ice cream. The food was okay overall, but nothing really stood out. The hamburger, pork tenderloin sandwich, fries, and ice cream were all average. They were just okay, nothing to rave about. The biggest disappointment was the service. We ordered three combo meals, but one order of fries was missing. Since everything was packed into one small paper bag, we didn't notice until we were already seated outside and had started eating. When we went back to let them know, instead of simply replacing the missing fries, we were asked to gather all of our food, repack everything into the bag and bring it back so they could check the contents. It was hot and windy so having to pack everything up again was inconvenient and a bit upsetting I understand that they may have wanted to verify the missing item but it was not the most customer-friendly way to handle the situation, especially since we were still dining on-site. Overall, the experience was just average.

He's recently moved the business to Downtown Colorado Springs to the left of the 'Candy Bar' taking over, from what I remember used to be, 'Munchies'. Got to talk to him tonight actually and said the owner of the previous building on Del Monico was disgruntled about his move, and, unfortunately, took down the sign with updated location info and reopening date :/ So please do yourselves a favor and check this place out when they do reopen, I promise you will not regret it :))

They use liquid nitrogen to freeze the milk and turn it into ice cream right in front of you, and it was fun watching them make everything fresh. We liked that they added extra Reese's cups and Nutter Butter pieces on top, which made the desserts look really good. But honestly, the actual ice cream itself was lacking flavor. It almost tasted like frozen milk with candy mixed into it instead of rich, flavorful ice cream. Overall, it was a cool experience to try at least once, but it felt pretty pricey for what we got. I can see why people enjoy the concept, but for me, it wasn't worth the hype.

Their limited M3gan's Cookie'Wich 2.0 looked SO fun and yummy (Dreamweaver S'mores ice cream in between the limited M3GAN's Sugar Slay cookies which are sugar cookies filled with hot pink buttercream and topped with pink sprinkles) ... BUT then I saw they had BROWNIES!!!!!! So that was an IMMEDIATE deal breaker and I settled on the Chocolate Chunk Brookie topped with 2 scoops of Dreamweaver and Vegan Cotton Candy ice cream. Plot twist ... the cookies/ brownies are SERVED MELT-IN-YOUR-MOUTH WARM!!!!! Oh my gosh, to DIE for! Warm brookie with cold, delicious ice cream?? Yeah, I'm done for! And they are open late ... like LATE late. Like til 1AM late (hence the name!). Which is a game changer all in itself since everything closes so early post Covid :( Their hours alone will bring me back (might not go at midnight haha) but SO nice finally having an option after dinner that's actually open and doesn't close at 8pm. We will 1000% be returning, and soon, because I want that limited M3gan 2.0 cookie'wich next!!! I'm drooling just thinking about it

They also have a lot more ice cream options than expected. I chose the brookie because a brownie and a cookie sounded so good. The vanilla ice cream on top of the warm brookie was so perfect. They have all the cookies and brownies in a warmer, so they are ready for you, or they are making them. Mine was alitte hard, so either it had been sitting in the warmer or over cooked. But it still tasted very good, I ate every bit. We also bought a small bottle of milk to drink while we ate the cookies, so it was satisfying. They don't have a lot of seating and none outdoors, but they have those heat lamps outside for standing only. This is mostly a to go place. The staff were nice and gave great recommendations! It's a fun new cookie spot in town that is open super late, even on a Sunday night.
