The food at this restaurant is really good. It's southern comfort food at best. The service is hit or miss. We ordered a club sandwich and a hamburger with some side vegetables. Everything was cooked and delicious. The burgers here, in all honesty, are some of the best in the area. And my club sandwich was good too. The veggies were cooked good (we asked for the broccoli to be cooked soft but it was not, still good but attention not paid to detail). Over the years this place has worked on their service, so it is getting better. The main problem we had this time was that when we asked for something (ketchup, extra mayo, more tea, etc.) they would say sure and then forget to bring it. But since we had 2 people coming to our table and asking if we needed anything, we always had a backup! In all fairness to our waitress this restaurant is rather large and spread out, so when it is busy we can understand this some. It can also be pretty noisy when they are full, so not a place if you want an intimate meal. Would I come back? Sure I would...try to make it at a less busy time, although business always seems to be hopping here! read more

If there was a chance to give this place a 0 I would! I went once when it first opened and wasn't impressed by the food but tonight I tried to order pick up and was disgusted by the service. I called 3 times, each time put on hold for 5 minutes before calling back and trying again/eventually giving up! No one was cordial or helpful. One would think that, as a business, they may want customers and people to order food from their establishment...in this case you would be wrong. DO NOT GO TO CHEDDARS. So disappointed that this particular franchise removed the grilled chicken sandwich that is still listed on the website. Now they have a chicken sandwich on Rosemary bread & it is awful! I went here on 6/11/2019 around 12:30 pm, we had a group of about 8 people at one table and then 6 at another. our waitress took about 15 minutes to take our drink order and telling us how someone didn't tell her she had our table. After we gave her our order we waited about another 10 minutes to get our drinks ( most of us ordered water ). Then we waited and waited for our simple food order. After about a 45 minute wait we asked for the manager, he came over and both him and the waitress had a handful of excuses of why our food was taking so long. The other table that was waited on by a different waiter not only got their order quicker they were done eating and waiting on us. The waiter was great. When we got our food some of the orders were missing, there was barely alfredo sauce on the pasta, no buffalo sauce brought out for the buffalo chicken and we had to go and find our own silverware. We should of left when we had a chance but we were hungry but we will never go there again. read more

Wait wasn't bad, but we did get there at 4:30. Food really good, service great, but the surrounding of the cranky general public was the only down side. We went here for lunch with a 1 year old. The food was very good and reasonable. I had the lunch special which was $6.99. I got half a club sandwich, a bowl of chicken tortilla soup, and a side salad with a butter croissant. It was a TON of food for the price! The sandwich was very good. Nothing special for a club sandwich, but it was well made and fresh. The best part of my meal was the soup. It was spicy and very tasty. I would order it again for sure! We also had onion rings for an appetizer and they were excellent. Very thin and the dipping sauces were tasty. They were only $3.99 and were a huge portion. It fed our whole table of 5! My only complaint would be the service. I had to ask 3 times for the server to bring me an extra plate for my child. Every time I'd ask she'd say, "Oh yeah, I forgot again." We ate there today..ordered the garden salad. It was so small it did not cover the bottom of the bowl. Waitress very indifferent..after we asked if indeed she was going to serve that bit of salad, she replied it was a bit small and she had planned to get us a larger salad..duh?? Great food, great price, I have only had the chicken strips but the breading on those is absolutely out of amazing, you get plenty for your money. The honey mustard sauce that comes with is very good and I typically do not like honey mustard sauce, I also ordered a side of ranch and a side of Buffalo and all of those are good for dipping. For the side I skip the fries since I already have plenty breading on the chicken strips and I get a double helping of the coleslaw, I love coleslaw done right and I could eat a whole helping of just the coleslaw service is great as well good stuff.... read more

What a disappointment, my first visit to Cheddars. The Asian Salad sounded delicious. It arrived after 20 minutes, ice cold, stingy cold grilled tough chicken, cold wonton triangles. "Mixed Greens" included a lot of chopped cabbage and dried up julienne carrots. I have never considered cabbage or carrots "mixed greens" or been served such, and despise cabbage. On a schedule and no time to order something else so I picked through it. A manager-type showed up at the table and pretty much suggested I was a little dumb. This was by far the worst dining experience I ever had. We arrived at the restaurant at 6:30 on a Saturday evening a party of 13 for my brothers retirement dinner we were first told by the hostess there would not be a table to accommodate us all that we would be split up into booths and tables this was very disappointing after my sister-in-law had called and made reservations a week prior. Once we were seated, Our waitress never came to Take a drink order until 6:50 and 20 minutes later. At 7:15 45 minutes after being seated our orders for finally taken at 7:45 30 minutes after our orders were taken half of our hors d'oeuvres arrived. The other half never came. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and an order of onion rings my onion rings or bought as an order they were eaten by everyone as we waited an hour and a half for our phone when my burger arrived it was plane with no mayonnaise I had to request mayonnaise which I never got and the waitress never refilled or drinks from the national bringing of the beverages the staff to say the least were very rude and acted as if we were a bother anytime we requested anything. I will never done add a cheddars again. There is no reason for it to take from 630 until 8 o'clock to get a cheeseburger . I was very upset for my brothers retirement dinner as this is a great milestone for him. I requested to speak to management at 7:55 when our food still hadn't arrived at 8 o'clock or food arrived so my code which let me to believe it had been sitting in the kitchen a wow management never showed up to our table read more

My boyfriend and I decided to eat here for dinner tonight because we were shopping close by. We were narrowing it down to Cheddars or the Ale House, but decided to go with Cheddars since we hadn't been in a while. That was a mistake. We ordered a ribeye medium with a side and salad and a buffalo chicken wrap, no cabbage or ranch. Pretty simple request. Wrong. After waiting 30 minutes (never seeing the server during this time), the salad hasn't come. The food finally comes, still no salad. The steak is well done, and the wrap has ranch. I will usually pick something off if I don't like it, but you can't "pick" ranch off. So I send it back...did I mention still no salad? Finally they bring the salad. The server does apologize for the error, but offers nothing more. I don't complain usually and NEVER ask for free things, but it would have been nice to have a manager come express their apologies and at least tried to offer a solution. Nothing. I paid full price for a meal I didn't even get to enjoy with my boyfriend, as he was already done eating before my food was ever brought back. I got a to go box and ate my food on the way home( the chicken was WAY over fried and very dry also so I didn't even eat it all). I will definitely not be back for a long time. read more

The food is good. The service is not bad. The menu is good for a variety, The prices are not bad. The noise level even when customers are not being seated in 1/3 the seats is horrible. To add to the noise the management is piping in noise through the sound system. This may be ok in a singles bar. To me the noise level is unacceptable for and enjoyable dinner and conversation. Jasmine waited on us. She was awesome , sweet and a great server. We sat beside a party of 24 people ,totally obnoxious and out of line. Cheddars needs to charge parties of 6 or more 18 % gratuity. They tipped her nothing! They disrupted the restaurant. I just tried the new "Cheddar's Casual Cafe" on Memorial Drive in Greenville, NC and it was AWESOME! I was most impressed with the prices. Everything was within reason for someone on a budget. I ate alone and had the Mushroom Burger with a side of Broccoli Casserole and sweet tea. It cost me $9.36 and that included the tax! The food was excellent. I ordered the burger well done and it was still juicy and was dripping on my plate, but no blood. The only complaint I had was with the sweet tea. The first glass was perfect. The second was so sweet it gave me a headache and was almost undrinkable. They need to monitor this and cut back on the sugar or add more water. The service was excellent. It wasn't very busy when I went and it was about 2:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday. I was seated immediately. I was given a reasonable amount of time to look over the menu (about 5 to 7 min) before a waitress came and asked what I wanted to drink. The decor and atmosphere was awesome! The woodwork was a bit dark, almost black, and the brick and stonework was beautiful. I was seated in the middle dining room across from the entrance. Above me were bamboo fans spinning vertically on stainless steel rods. It was beautiful. There was a large aquarium with bright and dark blue fish in the wall to the right. The bar was on the other side of the wall with the aquarium and had two large flat screen LCD TV's showing the national news. I walked around after my meal and looked the place over. I loved the windows and blinds, but the restaurant was a bit dark even on a bright sunny June afternoon, but the food was worth it all. An overall pleasant experience. If I have one other complaint, it's that if you order a steak, you can't get Heinz 57 Steak Sauce. Only A-1 Steak Sauce, which I hate because of the Worstershire Sauce in it. If you, like me, love a steak with Heinz 57 Steak Sauce, bring a small bottle of your own. read more

Mothers Day is busy everywhere!! So we expected the 20-30 minute wait. When the 7 of us got seated( 5 adults and 2 children) it was another 10 minutes before our drink order was taken and apps. Good thing we ordered apps !! Our apps and drinks, another 15-20 minutes, not too bad. But our section wasn't crowded and being almost 8 it had thinned out. Our server was slooow and inconsistent. Didn't bring correct drink refills or forgot them altogether. Our food took over an hour to get to us, only after I complained and then we got one dish , then 10-15 minutes later another person or two got a their meal. Finally, everyone but my husband got their food and only after I went to the front station and complained did they bring his food ( which was luke warm at best). I asked for a manger and she said ' well up to a few minutes ago they were really busy'. What would you expect at a holiday?? The only reason they got one star was the potato skins were good. We just moved to the area, first and last time we ever go there. They did discount our food, but only after me complaining again!! Manager could care less!! Sad!!! read more

Tonight my husband and I went for a quick dinner and the beginning would have been a 1 star, for sure. We sat right away but took 15 minutes to be greeted. Finally was greeted by a waitress that said "have you need helped" umm no. She took our drink orders and appetizer. Appetizer came out... 15 minutes later no drinks. Somewhere in there a waitress came over and said she didn't realize we were her table. Ok. Another random waitress came over and we asked for silverware and our drinks. She knew we were annoyed. She got a manager. He came over, he said there were no drink orders in for us... we again ordered. Here's where more stars come in. A wonderful waitress, Kennedi, brought us our drinks. She was awesome and thankfully became our actual waitress. She was attentive, kind and immediately made our experience 10x better. My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant today and really did not enjoy it. He ordered the Salmon and I ordered the Catfish. The food was definitely mediocre. The waitress took forever to bring our food and the check. We told her that the food was not bad but not good either. She really didn't care whether or not our experience or food was great. Took my mom here for her birthday lunch today... first my kid wanted fries with his mac and cheese and was rudely told that the only thing that came with it was garlic bread. I asked if he could have the fries instead of the soft drink that comes with the kids meal since he had already ordered a water and was told they could not substitute ANYTHING. Later towards the end of the meal I asked if they had any kind of special birthday desert or something and was told she could bring out cookies. Despite having a few problems in the past a group of friends & my husband & I decided to try Cheddars again...we did not have a long wait, but a friend immediately asked our waitress if they had chicken pot pie available this night because she had run into a problem twice before with the kitchen running out of it....our waitress assured her & 3 other's in our group there would not be a problem with the pie....well, 40 MINUTES LATER (we timed it) our waitress returned with the News that there were no more chicken pot pies!!! We insisted on talking to a manager & told her that this same scenario had happened TWICE before! She could have cared less, was very arrogant, gave no reason for the problem but did comp the ones who had ordered the pot pies...none of us in our group of 22 friends will EVER return....and we certainly intend to advise all who will listen to dine elsewhere....TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT! read more

Just came back from lunch at Cheddars and it was a disaster. I met with two friends. We arrived at 11:30, our orders were taken by 11:45 and our food arrived at 12:30. Two orders were fine, but my order was messed up and needed to be totally redone. After speaking to the Manager, my new order arrived at 12:55. No one apologized, except to say the kitchen was backed up. When the tab came, they over-charged me and then we had to wait once again for a revised bill. Once again no apology. Tonight was my second attempt to give Cheddars a try. Save your time, there's plenty of other eating establishments in Greenville. I was trying to do to go, I called in half an hour before going to pickup my order. Once I was at the restaurant I was assured my food would be right out, an additional half an hour later the manager comes out to inform me they are out of pasta.
