My wife and I have eaten here multiple times now and they have never disappointed. We dined here again tonight and everything was excellent. We ordered the spinach dip app. It was very good and came out quickly. After the app our side salads came and they were fresh large and filling. Soon after the salads our main course came out. We each had the 8oz sirloin with the broccoli casserole on the side. We were stuffed. If you count the croissants that are complementary when arriving we had 4 courses for $40 (total after tax) We will definitely return. read more

A very well run restaurant in Kingsport that doesn't disappoint. Menu you is diverse, and I've never had a bad meal at Cheddar's. The staff are very friendly and professional and genuinely want to make your meal great. Generous operate hours makes this a go-to place for our crews after late sporting events. I've had a variety of menu items from burgers to salads and never been disappointed. Excellent dining atmosphere that can suit the laid back crowd as well as the dressed up ones. Expect to wait Sunday afternoons right after local church services start dismissing! We went this past Wednesday afternoon and even though the restaurant busy we had no problem getting a table. In fact, the manager was near the hostess stand and personally led us to a table and moved a chair so that my wheelchair would fit. Our food and drinks came quickly and while our server was attentive, she was not overly so. The food was amazing, and the staff was wonderful. As we left the hostess helped to open the doors for us. Worst service ever! We walked in and sat down at 6:00 and walked out at 6:40 after leaving a $10 bill on the table to cover our drinks and croissants. We never got our food, despite ordering drinks, food and croissants at the same time. The waitress literally dropped off the drinks and bread and never came back to check on us. We finally caught her eye at 6:37 and told her she has 2 minutes to bring our food or we were leaving. She never came back. Food was good - I had the Dijon and mushroom chicken with the broccoli and rice casserole / baked potato and my daughter had the ribs and broccoli. The ribs were amazing fell off the bone and they even had a gluten free menu for my daughter. The island tiki drink was very tasty but the service was sad. My family and I visited this location on 6/7/21. The food has gone wayyyyyyy downhill since the last time I was here (maybe about 2 years ago). My meal of bourbon-glazed salmon, with steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes was average. My grandmother's whitefish was not even cooked through. Green beans were disgusting. Caesar salad was DRENCHED in dressing. Apparently you cannot order a drink at the bar unless you already have a table (per the rude bartender)...how does that make any sense? Myself and my partner stopped in this evening to grab some food, expecting the same service and food we get every time we go there . We ordered the Spinach dip when our server first came to get our drink orders, one of the main reasons we came here. We waited and when she came to bring our drinks, we placed our order for our meal. We waited and waited and our spinach dip never came out. Our entrees came out and right behind it, there was our Appetizer. Our server was apologetic and asked if we still wanted it, and we told her we did. She told us that she would talk to the manager. We started to eat our food and everything was going well until my partner cut into the second piece of chicken and it wasn't all the way done. We finally got our check, paid for everything we ordered and left without ever seeing the manager she said she would talk to for us. We think Cheddars is a genuine bargain with large portions and fair prices. Everything we've tried has been outstanding and delicious. We often get the artichoke dip. I rate this close to the average of 3.5 stars but the service was excellent so that upgrades it to a four star rating. The food was good, in the range of 3 to 3.5 stars. I ordered a rib eye steak with caesar salad and macaroni and cheese as sides. Both were good, definitely above average. The steak was cooked medium rare as requested and had good flavor, in part due to how they spiced it and cooked it. The steak itself was a little tough in places, neither the best nor worst rib eye steak I've had as far as meat quality, but how they cooked it made it a decent steak. I drank a few glasses of coke zero with it, and my server was attentive without hovering, and made sure my drink was never empty, always offering refills. Ordered Hawaiian chicken salad with a water, and spinach dip as an app. The spinach dip came out dried up and clearly was sitting under a heat lamp. DISAPPOINTING I hadn't been to Cheddars for a while but remembered it as a good option for affordable dining. Wrong. Terrible management. Everything is ala carte. Want fries with your burger? Pay extra. Want bread with dinner? Pay extra. Our server was unfriendly but efficient. But 5 other servers stood around the computer just chatting. Our burgers were not even close to what we ordered and when we told the manager she didn't care. I am sure the food is good as we have gone to other Cheddar's. We left without even a glass of water being served. We sat in the lounge area. The waitstaff went by our table multiple times. There was nothing in front of us Not even menus so obviously we hadn't been served. The waitress did seem busy but didn't even acknowledge we were there. We would have been fine if someone had said I'll be right with you. It felt like we were wearing invisibility cloaks like in Harry Potter. I never got my food! I ordered and received an email and a text that my order was being prepared. I arrived at the restaurant and packed in the appropriate space and checked in on the app saying what spot I was in. It said my order would be out soon. Then a worker came up to my window a few minutes later and asked the name on my order. I told her and she said it would be out shortly. I sat and waited for about 20 minutes at least. Then a worker came up to my window again and said I'm sorry but I don't know what happened, we don't have your order ready, do you want to wait and we will make it for you now? I asked her how long it would be and she said at least 10-15 minutes! I told her to just forget it. If there was a problem with my order why wasn't I told as soon as I checked in. Why was I made to sit there and wait for food that wasn't even being made??!! You completely wasted my time and I still had no food! This is ridiculous. Less than a one! Our waitress Amanda (skinny brownish blonde hair) was horrible, she was rude and I'm pretty sure she was high. I had to ask another server for a refill twice that server kept apologizing for her. She never brought out our appetizers until after she brought out our main orders it was beyond a bad experience this was on 2/28/2017 and we won't be back. It was a beautiful evening 5:25 on Thursday with temps in the upper 70 with no signs of rain and we asked to sit outside so to enjoy the beautiful weather after being indoors all day. We asked the hostess for a table outside and the manager came up and HATEFULLY stated that we had to be put on a wait list and that he would see if there might be anyone to serve us . I have pictures of the beautiful but empty patio with only 2 other people sitting outside. He stated to me, personally, that it could take ( after being seated on a wait list when the restersunt was much less than half full at that time,) that it could take anywhere from 5 To 20 plus minutes to get even waited on outside after being seated outside. I was very surprised by his smug demeanor and hateful attitude and stated that I had 5 to 8 friends that wanted to come after work in 2 weeks to sit outside and enjoy a meal if it was nice and he smugly said..well Not if its raining and I said well we are not stupid now and he said you would be surprised how many people are. I found this man offensive and belittling and extremely poor customer service from him and treating his staff poorly. I witnessed that as well. I have much more to say with video pictures. I will never ever step foot in another Cheddar's ... ever.. and I am so happy to save my money and patronage for other reputable establishments that treat their customers and their stafff with respect and dignity. read more

Tonight was my worse experience ever at Cheddars. We dine often at Cheddars but it only takes one or two bad experiences to make a person not want to patronize a paticular place. All I can say is that I think Corey needs a little more training. We had to asked 3 times for several items. I am assuming he is new.
