You know what this place is! Either you like it or you don't. Has the prices gone up over the years? Most definitely, but what food spot hasn't had a raise in prices mixed with a decline in portion sizes? Is the service pretty much the same? Yup! Nothing new to report here. This location is just like all the other locations. It's Cheddars!

    Food......!!!!!!!

Just got seated on a busy Saturday night in a booth. Ambiance is modern restaurant with lively atmosphere. Noise level is loud but tolerable. Our waitress was very nice and patient since we wanted to enjoy our appetizer prior to ordering food. The spinach dip was delicious and chips were okay. My wife ordered the chicken pot pie with a salad and I ordered the chicken and shrimp over rice with a side salad. Salads were fresh and generous portions. The entrees followed the salads in a rapid fashion. Certainly not what we would prefer but it seems like the concept of enjoying a salad first and then getting your hot entree has been lost at this restaurant. Otherwise the food was tasty and nicely served. Definitely worth a try. We will be back soon.

Bourbon Glazed Salmon Stat!!! After a long hard day of working, all I could think of is how good Cheddars Salmon and the Broccoli Cheese Casserole. The hostesses were night and sat us right away. Our waiter was new, but extremely nice. I recommend the Tennessee Tea... It was delish. The sweet taste of honey in an alcoholic beverage. You can't go to Cheddars without getting the Santa Fe dip with extra salsa (and inevitably extra chips). It never dissapoints. My meal was great. Salmon coomes just the way I like and my delish sides as well. I highly recommend the salmon. You don't have to get bourbon, they offer different choices. Overall, the service was great! The food was consistent and predictable, which is great for a hungry table of guests. I will definitely be back!

SERVICE WAS POOR!!! First of all, it took FOREVER for someone to come take our order (we waited for at least 30 mins before someone finally came). Also, the food was TERRIBLE and my partner's burger was cold. One of our drinks was made wrong, and when it was mentioned to our server, he said "actually, your drink is made correctly, we just ran out of real strawberries" in a rude and sarcastic way. My broccoli casserole was nasty!! Customer service was poor from everyone except for our host. I will NOT be back to this location EVER AGAIN!!!

The food was average but our server was extremely kind and made the experience great.

The hours have expanded I'm pleased to report and the food is just as good as it ever was. Some employees are not here anymore and they probably retired but the ladies working here work very hard to make sure the customers are always full. The circus posters on the walls, the period dresses the servers wear, and the table cloths and curtains add a note of nostalgia and send you back to a simpler time. Keep up the great work and I will keep coming. I drive 80 miles to get here and have been for 20 years. So I definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Well the first round they bring out is a whole chicken (tasted just like Brookeshire's chicken) then they asked exactly how many pieces you want after that. Mind you we had a full table of people so we needed another plate but it felt as if we had a limit. The greens are from a can. The chicken and dumplings are made from leftover chicken the day or so before. Also you have to get your own drinks and clear your own table. It's a neat experience for travelers but as a local it's a one time deal.

Chicken fried chicken was juicy and properly seasoned and the best we'd ever had. Ditto for the green beans and the okra. She wouldn't tell us what she puts in the green beans, but it's some combination of bacon grease and magic, I swear. The okra was fresh cut, fresh battered, fresh fried, unlike every other place I get it where you can tell it's out of a bag. Hot water cornbread was ah-mazing. I only wish I had honey to slather on it along with the butter. White gravy was fantastic, with just a hint of sweetness we couldn't quite put our finger on. Chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes were delicious, but also the only things I can say were on par with some of our other favorites. Prices are extremely reasonable. And the service is as down home and personal as you would expect at a place like Sylvia Mae's. But don't expect quick delivery of your food. Onion rings are one of the hub's favorites so off we went. The restaurant is located inside an old railroad warehouse and it has a very rustic atmosphere. You can feel the history ooze from the building's pores as you slide into your seat and get ready to take in the nice sized menu selections. I had a few items picked out from different sections and Zyra our waitress helped me make the best choice. We started out with the onion rings with ranch dressing and we DEVOURED THEM! We both chose the blackened catfish and were both very pleased. The fillets were perfectly cooked with nice seasoning and topped with pico de gallo. The pico added some much welcome acidity and zestiness to the dish. I ordered the pinto beans and crispy new potatoes and they were all superb. We enjoy stopping in Nacogdoches and soaking up the history and great food that the oldest town in Texas has to offer! We will definitely return to Clear Springs. There are way too many items on that menu that I need to enjoy!

My sister's food didn't come out at all , not late, not forgotten in the kitchen, just never showed up because our waitress never bothered to check on us even once after taking the order. A couple of the dishes that did arrive were wrong, and we were stuck sitting there with empty drinks for ages because she disappeared and didn't come back to the table. We literally had to wave her down from across the room just to get her attention. Only then did she realize my sister's food was missing, and instead of apologizing or taking responsibility, she immediately blamed someone in the back. As if she hadn't ignored us the entire time and wouldn't have known anything was wrong because she never checked on us. Between the missing meal, the wrong dishes, the empty drinks, and the excuses, the whole experience was a mess. We won't be returning.

Makes you feel like you're in a Texas country town for sure! My daughter and I were in Nacogdoches for college visit to SFA and we looked this place up in the hopes that we would find something different than a normal chain stop. It certainly is different and was exactly what you might imagine. Everything on the menu is decently priced and it seems that Tuesday is the place to be with short stack specials for $2 along with the weekday breakfast special at $6.95 On of my daughter's favorite meals is chicken fried steak and what better place to try that than a local diner??? Unfortunately it fell below expectations. The portions were quite large, enough that we could have just split a plate. The idea of sausage gravy on top of the mashed potatos and steak sounds heavy but also potentially fantastic. However both the gravy and the fry were quite under seasoned. I was able to fix mine with some cholula sauce and some salt and pepper was a quick fix as well for my daughter. The side of green beans and carrots she got were actually pretty good so perhaps there was just a disconnect in flavor at the meat station this day. I did very much enjoy the side salad I chose instead of the veggie medley. Came with home-made ranch which brought me back to my East Texas family gatherings with the freshly shaken ranch.....it was great. The portion size was pretty fair value at $13. Like I said we could have just split it between us. Very hit or miss flavors leaves this at a 3-stars for me. But no doubt some of the nicest folks in town work here.
