It took a ridiculously Long amount of time to make a salad. We were seated right away. Plenty of empty tables, ordered right away because we knew what we wanted. And it still took AN HOUR for food to arrive. A salad and some fried fish. I get really frustrated every time I come here, because it simply takes too long to get your food. I stopped by with my coworkers on a business trip and since I'd never been, we ended up deciding to eat here. I had originally wanted to eat at chili's next door because they have one of the best guacs that I've ever had. I regret that decision now. Oh guac, how I miss you and could've had you. Basically, they had really poor service. First, they only gave us 2 straws when there was clearly 3 of us. Next, my string bean side was unusually sweet like they had added sugar and that made me iffy about eating it. My rice was also SUPER buttery and oily. In addition, my coworker's burger was jipped of lettuce and the burger looked unappetizing. The only thing I liked about my meal was my salmon which was cooked pretty nicely. Then, our monster cookie which we had ordered along with our entrees took an EXTREMELY long time to come out even though we had told them to bring it out when we were finished with our entrees. I think it took like 10-15 min after we were done. Lastly, I thought they could redeem themselves with this cookie that would be warm, chewy and moist like BJ's pizookie, but boy was I disappointed. I REALLY wanted to like the cookie but no matter what, I couldn't. The cookie was flavorless and kind of dry. Basically, the cookie was dull and bad. I'm not sure I can even call it a cookie. First of all I'd like to give the good assets of the restaurant. The over all look of restaurant was marvelous, it was clean and the bathrooms were great! The staff was pleasant as well, albeit very slow. The food on the other hand did not measure up to the look and staffing. Although the sweet potatoes were good hardly anything else was. The first meal that I got was cold and extremely bland. The meal that my friend that was dining with me had rice that was even more tasteless then rice should be. Her meal also had rubbery chicken and shrimp. My second meal on the other hand did have some flavor, but that was because it was Cajun. The sauce had separated and the cheese was extremely clumped. The pasta in both of my dishes was also rubbery. We had also gotten some Queso and the dip tasted like Cheese wiz,the chips were so broken you had to scavenge for pieces big enough to dip. All in all although the restaurant was very clean, pleasing to the eye and had decent staffing it's food was far from decent. Luckily they did comp the meal and we did not have to pay that did not deserve to be payed for. read more

Low priced entrees are great. I was surprised that side items are usually sold separately. And the portion of the sides is on the small side. Great food. This was our first visit to a Cheddar's Restaurant. The food was good and reasonably priced. We chose an off hour to go (2-3p.m.) and it was not crowded at all. My only complaint was with our waitress. She did not introduce herself, so I can't give a name. She delivered our meals and we did not see her again until she brought our check. Then she never returned to get the money. Good thing we were paying cash, as we eventually left the exact money on the table and left. We did tell the hostess the money was on the table, just in case. Go figure. We will return but will probably ask for a different section if that waitress is on duty. read more

My family and I love Cheddar's in Lufkin. We eat there often and I usually order the Blackened Salmon; my husband loves the Fettucine Alfredo. In my opinion this is one of the best places to eat out in Lufkin. Also a very nice place to sit in the bar and have a drink sometimes. read more

I work in the service industry, therefore I am willing to forgive service for reasons like a bad day and such. However, when we wait over an hour and half for our food, and then are SCREAMED out about our lack of patience: unacceptable. Furthermore, the waitress did not even attempt to remedy the situation. She threw the food at us, and then rolled her eyes. I don't understand what is happening at this location, but the management needs to rein in the staff. read more

What a horrendous experience. After waiting a hour and a half or our food, we finally asked how much longer it would be. Only to have another waiter come shout at us that we needed to have patience. After telling the manager, no discipline/repercussions were given to staff. Our waitress threw my husband's food down on the table. Rude behavior is inexcusable! read more

This particular Cheddar's is a outhouse living on outdated reviews. We live in Lufkin, and tried this location several times. ALL just so so. The last time, the server handed my wife her plate ( ? ) across the table. The bottom was cracked and it cut her finger. Our server quipped " oh, sorry bout that ". We asked for a towel and a bandaid. She said they normally don't give out bandaids. I asked to speak to a Manager. A Bartender came over and apathetically asked what's wrong ? We explained what happened, while our server hovered over the table and emphatically denied her part in this. I told her we weren't accusing her of anything. She said that's good " cause she'd sue us ". Uh huh. The Manager finally came out and after speaking to his to minions first, turned to us and said " that Cheddar's had no responsibility in this incident''. We got up and left with the couple that was with us. We paid our bill. Today Cheddar's paid theirs. Cheddar's just settled out of Court today. Chose a off hour of 4pm and had to wait around 10-15 minutes. When we were finally seated, it took 10 min for a server to even get our drink order. We ordered spinach dip and specifically asked for no sour cream, and I know the waiter heard us because he repeated it back to us. After what seemed like an eternity we finally got our spinach dip. The dip had sour cream.... He then proceeded to take another 20 min to ask for our food order. While waiting for our food order, our drinks were empty the entire time. I eventually went to the bar to get refills. Our waiter did not give us his name so I couldn't even begin to tell you to not sit in his section. Our food was even cold when we got it. He never once asked how we were doing or if everything turned out okay. After asking for the check it was another 20 min wait before we got it. Worst service I have ever had. Highly recommend avoiding this establishment other than going to the bar for drinks. read more

I am very disappointed in the service we received on 2/12/16. I had spoken with 3 different managers over a 2 week period because I wanted to give them a heads up that I would have a large party of about 40 people for my daughters 16th birthday.All the managers I spoke with acted like this wouldn't be a problem and they would be able to accommodate us. When they got the tables set up they only set up for 30 people, and for all those orders we had 1 waitress who was completely overwhelmed. I expected a bit of a wait due to it being Valentine's weekend, but we waited longer to order drinks and food (1hr10m) than to be seated. Management wan't helpful nor did they exhibit professionalism. I had to ask for another waitress to come help take orders, even though I spoke with Josh earlier that day and requested 2 waitresses because I knew it would be to much for one person to keep up. There was no organization and chaotic to say the least. I'm pleased with the service the 1st waitress gave...she did the best she could considering the circumstance. I will NEVER eat at this restaurant again nor will I encourage anyone else to. read more
