They have great prices and both indoor tables, 1/2 booths, bar seating, outdoor seating, and they also do to orders. The atmosphere is casual with light music playing in the background. This was our first restaurant visit since moving to Lufkin, so we were excited to try something new. We walked in during a busy breakfast rush, but there were still plenty of open tables. Once we reached the front of the line, the young lady behind the counter greeted us right away, took our order, and handed us our cups. The drink station was clean and stocked with a good selection. We grabbed a table--both the tables and floors were clean--and within about 10 minutes our food arrived. I ordered the French Toast Combo, which came with four slices of French toast, two eggs, sausage, and seasoned potatoes. The meal came out on two plates, and everything was spot on. The French toast had a perfect light crunch on the outside while staying pillowy soft inside. The scrambled eggs and sausage were solid, and the seasoned potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft inside. My wife ordered the Breakfast BLT--bacon, lettuce, tomato, fried egg, and Duke's mayo. She added a little hot sauce and absolutely loved it. Not a crumb left! She liked it so much that we also picked up a tub of their chicken salad to take home, and it was delicious later that day--no complaints at all. My first time coming was last week and I already came back again if that says anything lol! The cashier was super sweet and helpful, the food came out quick, and overall it was a clean establishment. I ordered the Apple Grape chicken salad sandwich on a toasted croissant and wow the croissant was so buttery and the chicken salad was perfect. Something they put on the food made my son immediately break out in a rash on his hands and mouth. We had to give him Benadryl before we left it was so bad. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical about a restaurant based on a menu of chicken salad (not exactly America's favorite food!). However chicken salad is one of our favorite foods so we gave it a try. They do have other items beside chicken salad on the menu and in fact as other Yelpers pointed out, they have a fairly extensive menu for a relatively small restaurant. I'll post pictures of the menu so you can take a peak prior to visiting. We ordered our chicken salad sandwiches from the counter. We both got the regular chicken salad, I got whole wheat bread and my wife got white bread. Both of us choose the pasta salad as our side. The sandwiches were terrific. Next time I'll ask them to put mayonnaise on the bread since I thought my side was a little dry. Otherwise we both were tickled about the food and the restaurant. The kitchen staff brought our sandwiches and remedied an issue we had with our coffee. The restaurant is fairly new and everything looked clean and fresh during our visit. We are already looking forward to our next visit and maybe we will get more adventurous and try other chicken salad options. I'll keep up posted! read more

Little restaurant on the corner near Ulta you will see it when you pull in. Two main down falls the menu is incredibly hard to read while in line it's small and lots of options. Others were complaining about the same thing while I was in line in front of them. And I know they are busy but the floors really needed to be swept both times I went in they needed to be cleaned you don't want to see crumbs and food everywhere when you are trying to eat. The staff is extremely nice and friendly, they were out of forks and they grabbed some gloves and got some out! That was great to see. The food is delicious the first time I had a chicken tender po boy the tenders were so juicy with good flavor. Then we have the fried shrimp platter and the Ruben sandwich now that was absolutely delicious and filling! This is definitely a different restaurant compared to what is mostly in this area of Texas! Food was good and the portions are big enough for 2 meals. It was a little expensive but I was able to get 2 whole meals out of it.

Their sandwiches are HUGE--HUGE and good. They have a ton of chicken salad options and all are good. My favorites are buffalo chicken salad (with franks hot sauce) and the jalapeño chicken salad. The peanut sauce on the Thai chicken salad is very heavy. My daughter loves the brisket grilled cheese, too. We are fans! read more

We've been here a handful of times. My kids love the breakfast items. In the past I've really enjoyed the chicken salads I've gotten in scoops, salads, and sandwiches. Today, however was less enjoyable. I got the Greek salad and the lettuce/greens were Wiley and browned, and the chicken was severely dry. It was not pleasant. My husband got his favorite, the jalapeños chicken salad, and it also seemed very dry. The pickles that accompanied his looked like they'd been taken off someone else plate after they'd finished their meal. It was disappointing. I don't think I'm ready to give up on Roost, but I hope we have a better experience in the future. read more

I have a favorite place we normally eat breakfast at. We decided to give The Roost a try today. The customer service is amazing!! There were plenty of employees, we didn't wait long for anything. The atmosphere was comfortable. Not too loud. I ordered the brisket omelette! Great!! It came with home fries and wheat toast. The bread was of good quality. I'd go back there just for the toast, it was that good. If you get a large drink in a reusable plastic cup, you can bring it back in the future and get 99cent refills. That's nice when drinks other places are $3+! The best part is breakfast is served all day. My ONLY complaint is that the tables along the window wall are entirely too close together. I'd remove one of those so that parties don't feel as if they are going to knock something off the neighboring table when they get up to leave. Otherwise, very well done! We came in for brunch on a Sunday. My wife made a request for an egg white omelette. I wouldn't think this was a stretch for a breakfast place. The cashier gave us a very strange look before looking at the cook with an equally puzzled look. Finally she asked the manager if they could do that. without hesitation and without even looking out way the manager stated emphatically, "No, no we can't do that . No way!". We went to the Roost as a small group of 3 (2 adults and one kid). First things first the air seemed to not be working so it was miserably hot. Even the ONE server's cheeks were pink. There was only one group in front of us when we ordered. We ordered a breakfast plate, fish and shrimp basket and kids grilled cheese. The breakfast plate came out reasonably quick but for the other two plates it took 52 minutes! FOUR PARTIES that came after us were served before us. We asked the server Natalie several time and we could hear her ask about the food multiple times. Natalie was the only good thing about the place tonight. People that walked in 35 minutes after us had food before we did. We also never got the side of fries with the kids meal after another 15'minutes we left without them, but at this point we were done with the place. The next time was breakfast and I recommend the Texas Breakfast. You order when you walk in and they deliver it to your table.
