I have dined at your establishment many times - always get the New Orleans Pasta - I have tried to make it at home but could never make it as good as you. But this past week my wife and I came with a friend from out of state who heard nothing but good things about Cheddar from us. Well when my New Orleans Pasta arrived - first I had to send it back because it was cold then when returned I was really disappointed the wonderful taste was no longer in this dish (my version was much better). I do not think we will be coming back in the near future. Either you have a new so called chef or you have lost the in house scratch cooking as I believe this was precooked and just put into microwave oven. I did mention to server my opinion she apologized - I can't blame her for this - she did not cook it but believe she could have done a better job. Went to Cheddar's on Father's Day because we saw they had Chicken and Waffles for a limited time. Awesome! I'd just had chicken and waffles for the first time and I was looking forward to it all day. Before I go on, please know we have been long time patrons and big fans of Cheddar's prior to the PSL location opening. We will always recommend Cheddar's (just not the one in PSL). Ok back to this trip. We ordered 2 orders of spinach dip and chips. They came out promptly, however the chips were stale. No worries, we tell the waitress she apologizes and takes them away. When the replacement chips came out, they too were stale. The question I have is, could we have been the only patrons to think the chips were stale? The manager came over and he apologized and took the items off the bill. Now for the star of the show. The reason we went there to begin with. The Chicken and Waffles. My daughter and I both ordered chicken and waffles. It came out promptly. The chicken was great. The waffles were hard and burnt. I literally played a drum solo for my family they were so hard. The manager came over again and took them away. My daughter ate hers because she was hungry. He came back about 10-15 minutes later and explained to me that the second order was also burnt and he requested a third order be put on. I told him don't worry about it. He took my order off the bill. I took the chicken home and bought Eggo Waffles from the grocery store and made them at home. I want to repeat, Cheddar's is a good restaurant. When we lived in Broward county we never had a complaint. When the Port St Lucie location opened it was also great. They had an amazing Fish Taco which was removed off the menu shortly after they opened. That might have been the writing on the wall. read more

I went there last night. I understand COVID but the menu is absolutely terrible. We were sat down and no one came over for a very long time. The waitress had no clue what she was doing, she never asked us if we wanted drinks, never asked us if we wanted appetizers. She just left is with a menu for about 30 minutes before she finally came back and asked us what we wanted. I got a Buffalo chicken wrap. The only good thing was the amazing Ranch dressing they gave me with it. It was cold, the cheese wasn't melted, there was no flavor at all so no Buffalo sauce. This restaurant used to be good. First time at Cheddars. The reason why we went there tonight was because there's usually a long line outside, which would indicate the foods great, but not tonight. I ordered the steak and ribs combo and my wife ordered the hamburger with sautéed mushrooms. While the food came out within 10 minutes, the quality of the food was below par. My steak was rubbery and the ribs were dry. I'm not sure if the lack of quality was because it was NYE and the kitchen staff were half outside the door, but certainly the food was the half the quality. I think out of all the food chain restaurant I've been to, Cheddars in St Lucie West would rate below Applebees. Infact, it made Applebees feel like it was J R Alexanders in comparison. Welp, I loved Cheddars the first time I went there. The second time was on a very busy Saturday night. Even so, The customer service from our waitress was still great. I ordered the Dijon chicken and it was served extremely undercooked. So I had to wait other 15 minutes for my food after it already took quite a while to get it, which I completely understand being that they were swamped. I was expecting some sort of compensation, or even one of their cookies that they give to new customers, which I never received the first time I was there. Nope. My check was full price even after I consumed undercooked chicken. I went up to the manager to make him aware of the situation and was given the excuse that the chicken they've been getting has been really thick. Okay? You're a restaurant. Figure out how to cook it then so your customers dont get sick. Chicken is not something to play around with. If they had gone a little above and beyond to make me happy, I would go back. But since they didn't, they've lost a customer. read more

First time here and loved it! Naomi was our server and she was absolutely amazing, very attentive and hospitable. The food was great and service was quick. My fiancé and I live in Orlando, but will be getting married in Port St. Lucie in May, so this will be a regular spot to take a load off and eat some great food. The parking lot was empty which should have been a red flag but we put it down to the fact that it was about 4 pm on a weekday. When we walked in we were met by this unpleasant smell which we figured was from the mats in the entrance. We had not been there in a while but we wanted to go back to have a quick meal and have some onion rings which we loved and the Mac and cheese.The hostess took us to our table one of the benches was dirty with some sticky stuff all over it We had to call her back and ask her to please wipe it down. They apparently ran out of ribeye before we got there. We went along and ordered different items on the menu. My husband's Long Island ice tea was filled with ice to the rim. The food was lousy and to make matters worse there was a bug in my daughter's drink. The whole experience was disappointing to say the least .when we brought it to the waiter's attention he offered us a 25% discount. Our bill ended up about $65 Needless to say that after seeing that bug in the drink no one could finish or even wanted to eat any of the food. It was a waste of time and money. $65+tip. I know this is a " chain " restaurant but I still expect a bit more than this restaurant was able to offer in terms of quality. Our steaks were over cooked and not good pieces of meat to begin with. The sides are made long before we ordered and aren't worth bringing home. For these prices you'd be better off having a feast at Chipotle. I've been to Cheddar's three times since they opened. I waited to write a review because even though they are a national chain, they were obviously experiencing some difficulties of a newly opened restaurant. First, I think the actual restaurant is very nice. This place is basically an upscale Applebee's, but the décor is very pretty. When you're sitting at the bar, you do feel like you're in a nice place. The food is fine for what it is. Don't expect a great meal, but the prices are pretty reasonable for the amount of food you get. Drinks are not really overpriced either. Really, for such a nice atmosphere, cheap food and drinks, I'd like to rate Cheddar's higher, but I've received such awful service all three times I've been there, that I can't bring myself to give them more than two stars. I've only ever sat at the bar (never in the dining area) but every time I've had to flag the bartender down after a full ten minutes of sitting with an empty glass. Beyond that, I have had some unpleasant interactions with the bar tenders just being kind of rude in general. Overall, the poor service every time I've been to Cheddars has left a bad taste in my mouth and I doubt I'll be going back anytime soon. read more

Went for our first time this evening and loved it. Many of the annoyances you expect from a chain restaurant (salty food, frozen dinner freshness, etc) simply aren't an issue here. We ordered croissants, an appetizer sampler and the vegetable/soup platter which allowed us to try a number of items on the menu. Prices were very reasonable. Everything we tried was prepared properly and seasoned well. The baked potato soup was delicious. The steamed broccoli was melt in your mouth good. The fried food was battered on site in fresh oil. Fried food was golden and crisp. The food tasted like it was made by a person versus a microwave. Even the tea was brewed well and didn't taste old even at 9pm. Happy to see a restaurant in the area truly raise the bar for both food and professionalism of wait staff. The staff were dressed well and made you feel good for choosing to eat there. Went to Cheddar's on the recommendation of our Waitress at the PGA restaurant. We thought we were going to get a great meal. We ordered bottles of wine and the waitress brought the wine to the table and put the corkscrew on the table and left. We assumed it was because she just forgot it there, but when she came back to take our orders she told us they didn't teach them how to open a bottle of wine and she figured we knew what we were doing. As we started ordering at this point didn't have high hopes and it only got worse, our waitress was blatantly honest one of our table of 7 people asked how was the Mac and Cheese, her response was it is horrible. It used to awesome but the owners changed it because the kids didn't like bread crumbs in their Mac and cheese. So I was going to order a lot more food but when I heard this I changed my order to the homemade smoked ribs, which were just ok. We then recurved our salads and the waitress couldn't remember what dressing we wanted so she brought us ranch, we asked for honey mustard and oil and vinegar across the table, but her reasoning was who doesn't like ranch. My First time here was with a family member and I was initially pleased with the experience. The atmosphere is great, nice and clean all around with a casual dining vibe. Free refills on all drinks - the peach tea is delicious! Staff extremely helpful and attentive, as well as courteous and kind. I've never had a problem with old food, never had a problem with any of the food. I enjoy the atmosphere and love the bartenders assistance when trying to choose a cocktail. Yes they get slammed with bar and service and yes you may have to wait until you get next drink but they hustle, as do the wait staff so if you are in a hurry try the BurgerKing down the road.
