I just ate the 14 oz ribeye with fries and a salad with an Apple pie for dessert. Service was good and everything but the steak was good. However, that was the worst ribeye I have ever eaten at a restaurant. It was cooked and seasoned well, but the quality of the meat was absolutely terrible. It was tough with chunks of gristle throughout. It wasn't even good enough to consider select. It literally was like eating flank steak. Was sitting in a movie and decided to get car side to go from the nearby Cheddars. Order placed at 1:10 for pickup at 1:35. The order was ready and brought out to the car at 1:30. Spectacular and quick to go service. I ordered a half a rack of ribs and 2 sides ($16) and a kids meal ($6.50), so very affordable prices. I was disappointed to see the green beans had changed but they tasted the same. The loaded baked potato just had a small scoop of butter and sour cream in a box on the side with the cheese thrown in there all jumbled together which was a mess, and no bacon. The ribs were more bone and fat than meat but the portion was big so for the price it was fine. I would have liked some extra BBQ sauce. Kids meal is worth the bang for your couple bucks. Upon arriving early to Cheddar's, we were told there was no room and would have a 45 minute wait. I have never been impressed with meals there, so luckily there were other choices. We walked to Bubba's where we were immediately seated for a great meal. This was a difficult time for the family and Cheddar's didn't make it easier. We placed our name on the waiting list via the website and only had to wait 3 minutes once we arrived. There are chain restaurants, and then there is Cheddar's. From the time we parked in the parking lot and saw the beautiful arquitecture of the restaurant building and the parking spaces all filling up, I could we were in to something good. As one enters the building, the inside architecture and ambiance is more impressive than the outside, and the place is nice and clean and well kept. It was a pleasure walking inside as our friendly host took us to one of the booths to be seated. The menu was easy to read and well illustrated with photos of some of the main dishes. On this occasion, we were two of my friends and I eating together. The very friendly and hospitable waitress came to greet us and too our order. The timing during our entire stay was just perfect. She brought us our drinks and some of the house's famous mini croissants with honeybutter on top. They were freshly backed, soft, and tasty; and reason enough to want to return to this restaurant. The overall ambiance of the place felt so comfortable, like very few restaurants do. I had the Bacon Cheeseburger, and my friends had the Monte Cristo and the Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and sweet corn. Everything was fresh, plentiful, and reasonably priced. We had a wonderful dining experience. Our waitress came to check on us at the appropriate times and also a sign of a great restaurant, the manager came by our table to greet and chat with us. Even the bathrooms were wonderfully designed and nice and clean. The restaurant was dirty. There was wads of dirt and debris lodged at the edge of the table, and a layer of built up film where the table has been quickly wiped without reaching the end. The burger was an overdone, dry, under seasoned hockey puck. The tomato slices on it were flaccid. Also clearly a frozen pre-formed patty, and mot something I would have ordered or paid restaurant prices for had I known in advance. As a side note, not considered as part of this evaluation, we were sat next to a group of people who reeked so badly of weed that we at first thought someone was smoking in the restaurant. Overall I enjoyed my time here. The restaurant was fairly large with a good amount of seating and had a clean southern decor. Our server was great! She was friendly and had good timing. Let's talk food. I felt that the spinach dip was yummy but could've been a bit better quality. To be fair I'm spoiled by the spinach artichoke dip in Richmond. It just needs a little extra something something, but I thought the salsa was a nice touch. I ordered the New Orleans pasta which I thought was alright. The pasta was a little cold but I felt it had a good seasoning. There was a lot going on -two meats would have been fine, but the shrimp, sausage, and chicken were a little confusing to the pallet. The chicken seemed a little old and my biggest beef with this dish is that the shrimp still had tails. Overall it was a good experience.
