This place hasn't been open that long so I thought for sure the food, the service , the ambience would be great....I was wrong! We were sat and waited almost 10 minutes for a server to come over and offer drinks, but in the middle of that he interrupted us and said her would be right back.... Then comes back and takes our order. Well our orders get to our table...separately , and when my plate gets to the table, the ribs that's are suppose to be tender, we're so dry and I couldn't even cut into them and they were burnt. They, I believe, we're purposely drenched in bbq to hopefully hide it. I sent it back and though maybe my beer batteries shrimp would be better, well that's was just as bad. The shrimp was so soggy, batter didn't even stay on and they were cold... that's was also sent back. I'm sure this place is good but from my experience it was all that great. The best thing I ate was the broccoli and cheese casserole. I asked for a medium well bone in ribeye and I got a very well done bland ribeye. All I could taste was char and tough steak. This is what I imagine tofu tasting like if you smoked it. In my opinion you're better off spending your money at a Longhorn Steakhouse if you want a good ribeye. read more

Went on a Friday night so I knew it would be busy. However I didnt know I'd have to deal with a drunk couple standing behind my booth. I asked my waitress if it was normal to let people stand and loiter and she said they tried to ask them to leave but they may have been waiting for a table by the bar. During dinner I overheard someone ask if they wanted to take his table by the bar because he was leaving. The drunk man mumbled something and kept talking to his wife. I moved to the other side of my booth just so I could.. get out of the way. As a manager in hospitality myself, I'm disappointed everyone, including the manager, just let this go on for my entire visit. Then, of course, they sat down as I was leaving. I spend a lot of money at this place since it's right next to my house, but It might be time to find another usual. read more

The newer Cheddar's that open up on Southeast Military and New Braunfels. Same as the others. The service is fast when it comes to drinks a tad slow when it comes to the entree. My server William was very attentive and made sure I got the right sides. The fried fish was delicious. Now my companion asked for no gravy, sent it back twice and still with gravy. I visited Cheddars Scratch kitchen on a Friday in June 2023 a couple of weeks ago. Apparently this was a new location. I met 4 cousins there. I ordered a cheddars chicken pot pie because others at nearby tables had it and it looked so yummy! I was excited when I initially got my plate at the table. However as soon as I took the first bite I nearly choked on it! It was super duper salty, and mind you, I am a salt person, but this was overtly salted as if too many people put the salt in the pot. It was the inside of the pot pie that was over salted. One of my cousins also ordered this dish and agreed w me on the salty dish. I called the waiter and asked for a different dish and sent back the pot pie! I can't believe this happened to us considering that I was so looking forward to this dish and we waited a very long time for it to get to the table. Needless to say, disappointed. read more

I was really excited we were getting a cheddars in the southside. The food is ok. Service was good. Our server did have a really heavy cologne scent that got quite obnoxious but he was cool so I let it slide. Atmosphere was nice. Booths were way too tight for my guests and I. I ordered on their website on 2-3-24 for the chicken tenders family bundle based on my experience with previous orders. Big difference in portion size and quality of food. Inflation, Covid, overhead costs and any other excuse falls on deaf ears , cutting corners loses you more money than you make because your customers won't be back . It's opening day came by cause I'm sure the whole SE side is excited. Wait was 30 minutes but you should expect longer for opening day! It was well worth it! It was extremely clean environment was uplifting, my server was Serenity, she was very nice bubbly, came quickly with drinks got my food in stayed attentive to my needs. She brought my food out it was hot and delicious!!! Over all loved the whole experience, food and server were amazing, next time will definitely look out for the same server cause if she great me great service on the busiest days then I know she'll always give it! There were 6 of us. Everyone good mediocre except mine. Meatloaf was literally black burned. My rice broccoli and mashed potatoes cold as well as the meatloaf. Sent it back and got shrimp and asked for warm potatoes. They were warm but the shrimp had no flavor at all. Sent it back too. This was my second and last attempt. Went here for dinner and got seated in booth near kitchen. Kitchen staff have music playing loud enough to hear over the restaurant music. Asked manager if he could ask them to turn that down. Few minutes go by and nothing. Manager said he couldn't figure out which person was playing the music. How ridiculous of an answer from him. Too many businesses these days try to paint them as tight as possible. 2nd, loved the way that the hostess worked with us when we asked for a table instead of a booth. 3rd, loved the service that Galilia (sp?) provided. I went on a Monday. We waited 45 min and as we walked in there we're so many tables available that made me wonder why we had to wait 45 min. I got to the table and the waiter asked me 5 different time what my drink order was. We had two parties so I understand once again but 5-6 different times. We got our appetizer and it was burnt very Burt but cold. We got our food and it was so cold. Nothing had taste but the sweet carrots which were way to over sweet. The sweet tea was not sweet at all. Party of 6 adults & 2 children. Our daughter had to go 1 hour early to get a table. We waited over an hour for our food & every dish we got came out cold. When we told the manager, she told server to go get hot sides. After we paid half the bill on the kiosk machine the manager said I was going to give you a discount. I said go ahead. Well she gave the discount to the unpaid portion of the bill but didn't offer anything for that portion already paid. Then it took over 20 minutes for some of our party to get their split bill. Then kiosk said update please wait. Then another 25 minutes to get change for cash payment. Finally got to leave 3 hours later. Never going back! I can't really judge the food seeing that they don't give you breaks what so ever. And the service I would assume they were okay being that must of the servers were great. But the work environment was so poor. They treat their employees like crap,they don't have anything figured out for being a new location going on two years now. It's always a problem with shifts they schedule people for a shift and because they can get it figured out it always falls on the person already there which is unfair and inconsiderate. They hire people and just throw them in with no training or guidance. They don't provide the work shirts and hat like they are supposed to. And then when you start you are supposed to get a link to an app for you schedule and pay stubs but their excuse is their they can't figure it out the website they provide don't work. They terminate people because of their own mistakes. The way they run that kitchen is just poorly ran. And then the employees that put up with it all and stay,they are just being used and mistreated. First time here. Only gave 1 star cause it made me. We had a big party of 15. We called ahead and they told us they do not do call ahead, it was only first come, first serve and the entire party had to be present in order to be seated. We arrived at 6:00pm and was told it would be a 20-30 minute wait. While we waited they continued to sit everyone who walked in, even larger parties of 8. When we asked why the party of 8 was seated with only 2 people present to be seated, they stated they called ahead and they are able to sit them if the majority of the party is present (last time I checked majority of 8 is not 2) and how did they call ahead when we were told they did not take call ahead? When we brought it up to the manager she was very rude and dismissive. They finally called us to be seated and we were split into 3 tables. We waited over an hour to be seated separately? Respectfully, this place is trash. I know it just opened but I have been to other restaurants that just opened and it was nothing like this. We had a pretty big party and the wait time was long, that's fine and to be expected. But, when we were seated we were placed in a booth. We couldn't even move our elbows. We asked if we could possibly split up into the empty booth next to us and we were told no. Wow. The poor waitress who served us was not even asking how we wanted our steaks cooked and messed up our drink orders. That's fine too, she is brand new and young. But then, half of the items on the menu were out. No strawberry lemonade because we don't have strawberries. No baked potatoes or mashed potatoes. My steak was simultaneously dry like jerky, and over seasoned. My broccoli casserole was a little dry but tasted fine. The final insult was the price. We overpaid for bad food and poor service. I didn't want to bother the manager because she had already been called to the tables next to us for their complaints. I hope these people get their stuff together but I would not visit this location for at least 6 months to a year. read more
