This was my first time visiting a Cheddar's and it will very likely be my last. I stopped in to this location on a Sunday afternoon with some friends after checking out a movie at the movie theater down the street. From the start, service was a bit spotty and we had multiple different servers waiting on us throughout the 1 1/2 hours or so we were there. While the food for the table also came out quickly it was pretty underwhelming. I ordered the dijon chicken & mushrooms entree and while it is a generous portion for the price it was literally overcooked grilled chicken with a strong gas grill flavor that was covered in their honey mustard dipping sauce. (i know it was the same sauce because another friend ordered the chicken tenders and it came with same mustard sauce as was on my entree) The chicken wasn't terrible but it definitely wasn't memorable either. Unlike my friend, who ordered the cheeseburger that came out with a frozen patty that was still cold and had zero flavor. On the plus side, the complimentary croissants with honey butter that come served to the table were delicious. The queso fries appetizer was fine. Listen, times are getting hard for everybody. Save your money and go elsewhere for your dining needs.

Arrived at this Cheddar's restaurant following my friend's mother's funeral, January 10th, at 1:30pm. Our beverages were delivered at 2:30pm. My sister ordered a strawberry margarita and was served a regular margarita. Afterwards cold crossaints were served. The waiter taking our beverage order was not friendly, nonresponsive and his attitude appeared as not wanting to be our waiter. I am a diabetic along with other people in our party and there was only one waiter for our party of 30+. I had to go and talk to the reservationist at the entrance desk to see if my cold crossaint could be exchanged for hot crossaints. The waiter never returned to take our food order at our table of four. I had to get up several times and ask to exchange out cold crossaints for hot and ask management when was a waiter going to take our order. Finally a waiter took our table order at 3:20 pm. At 3:50pm, after speaking with the manager, my cold onion rings were delivered at 3:51pm. Some of the people with children in our party departed the restaurant due to the children not receiving a meal for such a long period of time. 4:00pm our meals arrived. My friend ordered steak & ribs with a baked potato. No butter for the baked potato and the broccoli was cold. My sister ordered fried fish & shrimp and the meal came with four small shrimp instead of the normal six. I spoke with a manager and informed him I no longer wanted the meal I ordered due to waiting three hours to receive the meal, so I requested two side dishes of carrots which arrived at 4:20pm. This was the worst dining experience I've ever experienced at this Cheddar's restaurant. SUGGESTION: When the reservation was reserved, management should have assigned two wait people to the area in which the party of 30+ people were assigned. RECOMMEDATION: Do not dine at this Cheddar's if there are more than 2-3 people in your party for fear of receiving the same treatment.

I hadn't been to a cheddars in probably close to 15 years. I never really loved the food or experience, but recently on a business trip I decided to give them another try The hostess was friendly enough, and when I told her a table for one she said she would need to clean off some tables. I then watched two families of 5 and of 9 come in after me and she sat them. After this she grabbed a rag and wiped down a table for me. The restaurant didn't seem especially full, and I get that I wouldn't be sat at a 6 or 10-top, but I still waited close to 10 minutes while others were being sat. My server did bring a croissant on the house since I had to wait, and that a nice touch. I ordered a drink, and then they came back and said they were out of the mix for that drink. I also had my water sitting on the edge of the table (empty) for a while before it was noticed. That being said, my server was very kind, and she made my stay feel more welcome and enjoyable The interior is relatively clean. The entire restaurant is very dimly lit which would make it difficult to notice issues with cleanliness. I did have many plates on my table that weren't bused in between courses or even asked if I wanted to get them cleared The food was fine and drinks were fine, and compared to BJs and Outback across the street, the prices are slightly less expensive Some tips: If you sign up for their newsletter you can receive a free chips and queso. Don't bother with the spinach artichoke dish or sampler, it's not very tasty. The pineapple coconut mule however is very tasty. Also, the Buffalo wrap was surprisingly good and hearty Cheers!

I enjoyed my first visit to Cheddars. I heard people rave about the honey butter croissants and they were right. The croissant was flaky and topped with a sweet drizzle of glaze. The side salad with blue cheese dressing was bigger than most restaurant side salads. The chicken pot pie was a disappointment. The crust was flaky but the filling consisting of some chicken chunks and a few veggies was soupy. If you're watching your sodium, this pie contains more than 3000 mg. , too salty for my taste. The vegetable plate (a side salad and 4 veggies) is a good value. I would not order the broccoli casserole again. The soft consistency was too mushy. Emanuel provided excellent service. I would visit Cheddars again for the honey butter croissants.

Ribs/shrimp,undone,cold............ cold, drinks were good but food,at least this was horrible. BE better,do better Cheddars.

Food was cold,at least the ribs/shrimp i ordered were. Drinks were good, service was ok! I really just wish the food was hot,I came to a restaurant for hot food and got the opposite, did not leave a tip because the waitress worked and I felt like the kitchen/cooks or maybe it was her but cold food at a restaurant???????? Noooooooooooo paid..............no tip, left a review, leaving reviews!

    Hair on plate

Server was nice but slow and inattentive. She was bartending and taking tables, should've just stuck to bartending since she can't handle more than the bar top. There was a hair on the plate of my food, returned it, got a pasta instead, by the time my pasta came my partner had already finished his food so I cancelled it. Server should've gotten the manager when the hair was found. I checked our bill on the ziosk and saw that the steak had been comped, meaning the manager knew about the issue but didn't bother to come talk to me. Management is so ass, they do nothing to help the poor experience you just had. They have trash hospitality and trash customer service. Ghetto manager told me "trust me I want to go home too" after I told her "I just want this taken off my bill and to go home" like who are you saying that to a customer ? A hoodlum or a restaurant front of house manager ? All she did was comp the steak and pasta. No apology, no offering to comp the appetizer, no offering dessert, no gift card to come back.

Yes. It is a chain. And yes it is getting mixed reviews. But I had a good experience here. It was my first time to this location. We came at lunch and it was busy. But we were sat quickly. The buttered croissants promptly arrived. We sat at the bar and we were served quickly by Coco. She gave some great recommendations. And our lunch was good. Again am I getting the best chicken fried steak in San Antonio? No but it was quick and was a good portion and it was tasty! Will we be back? Most likely!

Although we were seated quickly and our beverage order was also taken quickly, the food took way too long to get to the table. When it did, it lacked flavor and tasted old, even the meat looked a little gray. The ambiance was nice. it's a cute location.

    Key West Chicken & Shrimp
    Kristen A.

Honestly, cheddars is just another chain restaurant in my eyes. I know they do some great things as a company, but their food is mid. I got the key west chicken and shrimp and I was honestly pretty excited- but the plate was so messy and hard to enjoy. The chicken was over cooked, the sauce was everywhere and made the rice entirely too sweet to eat. The shrimp were okay, I would have preferred them a little more grilled. The broccoli and cheese casserole was tasty. My dad got a T-bone steak and he wasn't impressed. My sister got the steak and ribs but she got full off of the appetizer. Service was great for a Sunday rush! The only thing that kinda stunk was that we joined the waitlist online and it quoted us 25-35 minutes, which was perfect because it took us that long to drive there.. when we arrived and checked in, they quoted us another 45 minutes. Weird.

It seemed the boats going up and down the River portion of the Walk were busier. While we were walking I had my eyes open for a table with a view. We stopped at Four Brothers. The receptionist went over suggestions on the menu on her outdoor podium. Cornbread in the shape of Texas, shareable items like Dino ribs for $82, plus Pork Shank and ice tea completed our order. Everyone was very friendly. We had an exceptional view and we had more than enough food that we had to ask for take out boxes. My favorite was the Mac & cheese though I'm usually not a fan. This dish used cork screw shaped pasta and it was moist and not stuck together. I had to share a photo of it with Sweetie who is in Tokyo right now. Doc liked the pimento for the cornbread. As it was almost 9 pm we decided to pass on the boat ride but just walk on the other side with shops and more eateries. We're back on the road again tomorrow to Arizona.

Y'know it's impossible to find street parking especially on the weekends normally. I had made reservations to meet some friends here for brunch/lunch 1145 am on a Sunday. This place is bigger than it looks! There's seating at the main building, plus a huge outdoor patio seating area, and an entire other building beautifully decorated. The hostess was welcoming and friendly and our server was excellent. We were seated in the other building near the windows. The menu wasn't huge, but just right with a few lunch and brunch items. After debating for a while of what to order, I decided on the Texas Gulf Shrimp plate. Agua Fresca of the day per our server was strawberry pineapple. Our server was able to water mine down slightly- since it was very sweet, but love knowing that it was freshly made. Complimentary chips and salsa always a plus, and we were able to order some spicy salsa to accompany at no charge. My shrimp plate was delicious! 2 skewers of nicely cooked and seasoned shrimp atop salsa with perfectly cooked cilantro rice and a fresh leaf salad. A half slices avocado accompanied my plate. Oh how I love avocados. I thoroughly enjoyed my plate. The chicken al carbon was also a good choice - half a chicken that was juicy, not dry. The avocado toast was beautiful and the pecan salsa was quite interesting. The female performers during our brunch in the room, made it very hard for all of us to have conversations. The volume echoed loudly in the room, so it was very hard to speak and understand each other. Although a great idea, maybe outdoor patio area might be more suitable. Beautiful space, great service, good food.

We arrived around 5pm on a Thursday and got in queue which was out the door and wrapping around the front porch. By the time we made it to the front of order line maybe 40 minutes had passed. But ladies and gents the wait is worth it. When we plated our trays on the table my family all had heart eyes, and had equally loved our first bites. Their brisket is extremely tender. It's beautifully sliced and made for an amazing welcome back to the South taste for me. I was in heaven. I particularly enjoyed having the fresh pickled red onion for fresh, zesty cuts through the abundance of other saltier elements on the plate. Their menu is slammin! Their sides, and sausages all had crafty ingredients. I enjoyed their spicy link options and their macaroni was delightful. Their BBQ sauce was a nice 4/5 but certainly did the job. As a native Texan who's had their fair share, this was easily some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Top 5 top 5 top 5. I'm of course coming back and looking forward for more banana cream pudding especially. They were small, slightly sweet, and had great balance with the vanilla wafer ratio. That whip cream on top too had me hooked. I couldn't have asked for a better welcome back meal for the bold Texas cuisine, hospitality, and novelty animal and cowboy decor.
