Puffy tacos are tasty but on the small side but have a big flavorful impact. Their chile sauces are tasty with the green one being the hottest. Now let's talk about the margarita,s, they have one with boba pearls as well as a pica fresa they have a kick to them. The mini tacos are my favorite item here and the charro beans are flavorful. Tacos norteños are also good. Service is great and food comes out hot and fresh . Chips and salsa are plentiful. So my friend and I came to The Rodeo Bar and Grill specifically to try the soft serve margaritas. She had seen them advertised with different flavors so we decided to drive out and try them. The margaritas can come as a single flavor or swirl with two flavors. We both opted for the mango strawberry swirl. We also ordered a flauta plate and street taco plate. The margaritas are delicious and have a nice balance overall with the fruit and alcohol. I will mention that it is true soft serve so there is dairy in the margarita. As far as the food, it was average Mexican food. I personally would not drive here just for the food. My rice was dry to the point of crispy and the chicken in my flauta was super dry. The charro beans were good and the salsa was ok. Overall, I would probably come back for happy hour and just order the margarita with some appetizers. read more

Be carful parties of 6 or more they add the tip into bill but it does not show when you review the bill. So server ends up receiving double tip, and they don't bring to your attention. If you come for the soft serve margaritas they are GREAT! Strong and delicious. Since they are having many orders for them we did wait about 20 minutes for them but they are def worth it. Disclaimer- they will separate if you let them sit. The food here was delicious but the service wasn't great we had long waits for food, drink, ordering, closing out, just about everything. If they are struggling with popularity I wish they had more preparation for the crowds, but it's understandable. If the service and speed of things improved I would love to give a better review. read more

This place is a hidden jam. Me and my wife came six months ago and thought it was about that it was a decent restaurant. Nothing special gave it about a three out of five last time but I don't know why I decided to come here Monday on July 27 for dinner at around 8:00 PM we were seated right away. We greeted right away and we could tell right away. They changed the menu and the bar selection is very large and has a ton of different options. I understand that today is Cinco De Mayo and wait times may be longer than usual, but being told there was a 40-minute wait and then still not being seated over an hour and 20 minutes later while watching other parties with the same number of people walk in and get seated was extremely frustrating. What made the situation even worse was watching the owner's mother walk in through a side entrance and seat herself at Table 21, a table that accommodates six people, while customers who had been patiently waiting were still being overlooked. When we tried to ask questions about the wait time, no one seemed to understand or properly address our concerns. I'm very disappointed in how the owner handled the situation. Offering drinks as compensation did not resolve the issue, especially considering today's drinks were already discounted or free. To add insult to injury, after finally being seated an hour and a half later, we then waited an additional 10 minutes before even being greeted by a server. Loved the garnishes, made it look extra cute and even those tasted good! Got the beef fajita plate and added some shrimp, all delicious! Tried the bean and cheese chalupas too and even loved those! Came here for breakfast. I got 2 tacos. One of them was missing the bacon I asked for in it. My friend's carne guisada was missing the cheese. Today my son and a group of his high school friends (a total of 8) went to enjoy lunch and celebrate a friend birthday and without them knowing until they paid their individual bills had a $7 gratuity added to their tab. When we walked in, I knew I was going to like this place! It was busy around 1pm on a Saturday, but we were seated right away. Tons of options on the menu ranging from wings and a burger, to typical tex-Mex fair, to molcajetes piled with meat and veggies. The margaritas were tasty and everything was a decent price. We came in for breakfast and they had amazing breakfast specials. 3 breakfast tocos for under $4. They had 2 full breakfast plates for under $7. I personally had the chilaquiles with green salsa and two over easy eggs. It was super fresh and delicious. The plate came with 2 fluffy non greasy flour tortillas baked to perfection. Absolutely worth checking out. I came after a recommendation from a neighbor and am so happy we did. Ordered the molcajete and it was so big I shared it with my husband. It was full of flavor and spice, the meat was great quality. I don't usually get tender steak in fajita meat, but this steak had great flavor and texture. The corn tortillas also had great flavor. I was very disappointed that the restaurant we were intending to go to was closed on Saturday....... Uhh, whatever. So we decided to try out rodeo and it saved the evening meal for my family. The meat was so tender I was able to easily bite off pieces even tho I have a tooth in front that I may need to part with soon ‍, but that should help describe the tenderness of the beef and chicken. Seasoning was great! The veggies werent cooked so much that you could hardly tell if it was an onion or bell pepper lol. They tasted fresh and gave a nice texture within my fajitas yummmm. Rice and beans were really tasty. Rice is flavorful but only rice, no veggies in it but that's this gringos experience w rice having carrots and peas, but nonetheless it was very tasty. Today has been my second visit since discovering this place near a closed Carl's Jr on this past Saturday (12/16/2023). The food is great. On my first visit, I had the spicy and filling "Molcajete" containing steak, chicken, and sausage as its base in a creamy gravy with poblano peppers and onions. In today's visit, I ordered the "Rodeo parrillada," which contains beef, chicken, sausage, and shrimp. The server instead brought the chicken and beef parrillada. I decided not to send it back since sausage can produce a heavy feeling and I therefore decided I should eat that instead on a day when it has more time to digest--a day not before a workday. I mentioned the order mixup to the server to avoid being charged for the "Rodeo parrillada." The server saw the error. For much of my visit, there was a beeping noise from the kitchen. This went on for maybe 30 minutes before FINALLY ending. As it did on Saturday, the restaurant had just one server. As it was on Saturday, the restaurant was nearly empty. This may be because it is a recently opened restaurant. Except for the order mistake, annoying beeping, and the server taking too long to bring the check, I have no complaints. It does seem the restaurant will eventually need to hire more waitstaff with the restaurant being at Bandera and Eckhert, and therefore likely to get much stop-by business eventually. The server today was splitting time between refilling sugar dispensers and waiting tables--with no help. What happens when they have a busy dining room? read more
