Very attentive, brought us warm bread right out of the oven, was very attentive with drink refills, and checked on us regularly. My wife had the fillet and I had the ribeye. Both cooked exactly like we asked. We had, broccoli, asparagus, loaded baked potatoes, and mac and cheese as our sides. Rarely do you get this many varieties of food and have them all cooked to perfection. Oh, and we started with their stuffed mushrooms. Biggest meh of the month, and that is saying something. Walked into LongHorn expecting the red carpet. I am Matt Simmons after all. Instead, I got the reception you would expect from a bloke trying to return soup at closing time. Arrived with eight coworkers, nine hungry professionals on borrowed lunch hour. You would think the hostess had just seen a school bus pull up the way she looked at us. My mate Big Red can be a bit of a handful, sure, but he is not contagious. Seating nine people after the rush hour should not require a council meeting. After fifteen minutes of waiting in a half-empty restaurant, we were finally seated. The mood was already halfway to mutiny, and the food did little to calm the rebellion. The steak wanted to be special but fell somewhere between ambitious and average. That, paired with the prices trying their best to be "upscale," makes for a poor impression. Three stars. It was not terrible, just forgettable. And for a place with LongHorn in the title, I expected a bit more bite. If you want a steak that makes you feel alive, go somewhere that smells like burnt butter and regret. This was my second visit to this place and the first time I was not impressed. This time around we had a large party for a birthday and the waiter was inexperienced. First he did not give our drink order to the bartender. We had to ask the bar what the hold up was. Second we received our check before we even got our entree so we were all confused. We were asking ourselves "Did we eat already?". And then he got the birthday girls order wrong and it took the manager to get everything rectified. And the mango margarita was nothing to rave about. Came to this location on valentine's day, they said the wait would be 45 minutes but didn't end up getting a table for a little over a hour. which was expected because of the holiday but when we got to the host stand to be seated there was a line and the hostess which was 2 girls and one boy they removed us off from the waitlist because they were arguing with other customers and holding up the line. When I told them we had been in line they had a attitude but still sat us and as we were walking away they were mocking me and saying " who was arguing" when everyone clearly heard them being disrespectful. The food was very good as always, but our server was then also very rude she had an attitude and rushed us to order and barely checked on our table I never even got one refill. First time coming here and had an experience. Came in with two hostesses staring at us as we stood there lol I said "Hi, party of 3" and were then immediately seated. I did have to ask for help twice (asked for refills once and the ketchup) but I was not going bring it up to my company; they also asked for the server to get refills. Again, because I wasn't the only one asking, I was not upset lol just didn't realize that they were annoyed having to also call for help. I mean, we even have a fly who was very persistent with getting into the brisket dip. I couldn't place fault on anyone... it was a good time to be Mr. Miyagi. And the brisket dip was pretty darn good lol Despite the lack of service, my food was on point and per my pics, we all munched out .... they didn't even let my phone eat first "How Ruuuude" . Me and my wife were trying to go to a nice decent dinner and we were super excited on the way and there was an issue with our app and the website that would not let us join the waitlist on either and reason why is because we live in Lytle Texas, and is kind of a drive for us. So we decide to call and just ask if there was a "call ahead waitlist" and to our surprise there was and then we asked to please be put on it and then we were told to be put on a "BRIEF" hold which turned out to be 10min and that was because we were having technical issues on the app and website, so we end up getting to the location in person at this point and STILL on the phone on hold after being transferred 3 TIMES and when we get up to the hostess stand I told them the situation and said we'd still have to wait 20 min! The fried exterior layer is so flavorful, but the inside, which is the beef steak, is not as great as I thought it would be. I couldn't finish it so I left it alone. The mashed potatoes was delicious. I love the savory taste of it. Fire-grilled corn is definitely FIRE! I absolutely love it and Parmesan creamed spinach was out of this world! I feel like the sides are beating up the poor chicken fried steak. Main dish is supposed to be as tasty along with the sides, but the sides are winning back to back. Strawberry margarita is strong. My recent visit to San Antonio was short, but filled with disappointment at several dining locations - - - until my last evening. The meal at LongHorn Steakhouse was absolutely the BEST of the entire trip. The steak was perfect but the sides were amazing! I can get fried okra just about any time I want, but because I was dining with someone from the west coast, I decided to order it and share in her delight with this dish. I was absolutely amazed at what a difference slicing the okra lengthwise made in the taste and texture. I may never eat traditionally sliced okra again. And then the brussel sprouts - better than dessert! The description on the menu called to me and I was so glad I ordered it. Then to top off the evening, the manager spent several minutes with us describing their process, what a treat! Food: we started off with the wings as an appetizer and I must say they did a great job with the wings here! Very fresh and very tasty! Also I forgot they brought out some really good bread before the wings. I went with chicken fried steak ( Nolan Ryan beef) and it was very good. Along with some really good mashed potatoes. I opted for the baked potato soup as a second side and it was great! My client let me try his steak and it was really great. Up there with the best cuts of steak I've had in Houston.
