Came to Cheeky Cafe for Saturday brunch with my partner and were seated immediately - always a good start. The space has high ceilings and a casual, slightly unpolished feel that actually works really well with the food. Cheeky Cafe is a well known neighborhood cafe! We had heard lots about this cafe and wanted to give it a try! First off when you walk it, the atheistic and environment is very cute and simple. There is about 15 tables and immediately you feel like you are at home. As you walked to the counter to order the menu is projected on the board no QR code which I love. There is all day breakfast and lunch. My friends were raving about the spam and eggs so we ordered two. It was delicious. I ordered the BELT (bacon, egg, lettuce and tomato). I opted out of the bacon and replaced it chicken sausage. It was amazing. The sandwich was placed in two thick slices of toast and comes with a garlic aioli on the bread. The sauce was so good I order an extra side of it. We also ordered a Chai latte, orange juice and some tea! Cheeky Cafe is definitely going to be in our new breakfast spot rotation! Albeit a bit slow, they sat us but then didn't bring waters or check in for 15 minutes and it was a hot day and we walked so that was a bit discouraging at first, but then the food came quickly once we got our order in! It was also brunch, there wasn't a wait but it was maybe busier than usual (I have no reference). I got the side salad with Caesar and it was weirdly good for how simple it was! The spicy mac was a great serving size, but could definitely use more kimchi and the sauce itself wasn't super thick so the kimchi juice made it a bit watery at the bottom. My friend loved her spam and eggs! In sum: can't really complain because for Seattle these were great prices!!! Every time I visit Seattle Cheeky Cafe is a MUST. I don't know how they keep up with the huge menu, but the food is always consistently great year after year and the only time I am disappointed is when they are closed during Christmas break and I can't get it. It's good dining in with super friendly workers, and also takeout is still great quality. The restaurant is cozy inside and great for small or big groups. Smelled like sewer right when we walked in, which was the first red flag. We had our server come over and take our order but was very rude. The odor kept coming at us, we ordered stuffed French toast and the toast was burnt so I politely asked if we could get a different one and he said no that that was how they make them. Didn't offer to make us something else instead! They did not charge us for the French toast but we had our brunch ruined and it was a birthday celebration and we were from out of town 3 hours away so definitely killed our meal and experience. We were excited to try all the things. We had the fry bread, chili hash browns, cheeky pancake breakfast and the breakfast sandwich. I'm sad to report it was all just "ok". On a recent chilly weekday morning I was crossing I-90 and found myself ravenously hungry. I remembered the Cheeky was nearby so I stopped in and was glad to see they were open for business! Their menu looked so good - full of many traditional breakfast items that made my tummy rumble. But when I spotted Spam 'n rice as an option I knew I'd found what I wanted. I first ate Spam 'n rice for breakfast many years ago on a campout, when a Filipino friend made it, and remembered how good it had been. So I put in my Cheeky order - with an egg on top - and waited with my coffee. Soon the plate o' Spammy deliciousness was in front of me. I saw another review say this place serves "ok"/"average" food and I would agree. My boyfriend and I ordered the carbonara, matcha pancakes, and meatloaf sandwich. First, I actually enjoyed the carbonara. It was very creamy and had a lot of bacon in it. I've actually never seen carbonara with so much bacon. My boyfriend thought it was bland though and needed to salt it. It came with toasted bread. We ordered the matcha pancakes with bacon and eggs. For some reason, I was expecting the soufflé style pancakes but these were just regular pancakes. They were very soft and fluffy, which I really liked, however they lacked flavor. The pancakes were dusted with matcha powder but immediately I was able to tell it wasn't pure matcha. It was the kind of powder you might buy that's labeled "green tea latte mix" where it's low-grade matcha powder and other things like sugar and fillers. Like I said, the pancake's texture was amazing, which makes me think they should just serve regular pancakes *shrug*. For the bacon and eggs, you get two of each and can choose what kind of eggs you want Lastly, the meatloaf sandwich. It came with fries and bbq sauce to dip. The meatloaf was decently flavored and not dry. There was a strip of bacon going down it. The menu says it's on a baguette but it's not a baguette. I'm not sure what kind of bread it is but the word "generic" describes it. I don't think anything was bad, but nothing was spectacular. They do have a pretty lengthy menu though so there's much to choose from. We came at around 2-3 PM and were given the brunch menu which I thought was weird but the rest of the menu items were on a chalkboard at the back of the restaurant. Service was very nice. read more

The pancakes themselves were fluffy and the perfect texture. They also were the perfect sweetness - not sickly sweet at all! My only wish was for them to come with a bit more green tea flavor. The Kimchi Mac was my favorite thing on their menu. It's a simple dish but really delicious. I liked how it wasn't overly cheesy and there wasn't too much kimchi flavor either, a good balance. You can also add spam which I highly recommend. The Loco Moco was a bit disappointing. I was not a fan of their gravy flavor at all. It was a bit too sweet and so luckily the table had Tabasco on hand. I'm more of a savory gravy type of person so maybe it's personal preference? But my partner didn't like their gravy much either.
