Before a work conference, I did my research. I love breakfast foods--I love eggs, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, and specialty lattes. I researched some places in the area that I could walk to and found Coffee Tree & Bop, walking over after a Peloton ride at the hotel. I loved the Hawaiian egg sandwich (cheesy, messy, with lettuce so it's healthy, yummy marinated spam, and saucy) and iced vanilla lavender latte (not overpoweringly sweet.) I also got a spam musubi to-go for my flight the next day! It was flavorful. Service was good. This was almost hard-to-find--it's in a medical building so there's quite a few patients eating here. read more

A great cafe with a chill vibe conveniently located at Optum. The service here was friendly and fast. The Hawaiian sandwich was great with fresh eggs and spam on a soft brioche bun. Thanks to a jacked rotator and a shoulder injury that refuses to quit, I've become way too familiar with the polyclinic hospital this year. It's not exactly where I imagined spending my time, but there's one saving grace: this little eatery on the first floor that makes the trip almost worth it. Their spicy Spam musubi and vanilla latte? Absolute perfection. The musubi is hands down the best I've had outside of Hawaii--it's like a warm, delicious hug from my childhood. Honestly, I've never been tempted to order anything else. When you find something this good, why complicate your life? But I have to admit, the rest of the menu does look pretty fantastic. Maybe one day I'll be adventurous... but probably not. The space may be small, but it's always buzzing with good energy and the people that work here are awesome. I got the cranberry turkey sandwich and a couple pastries. In the food desert of First Hill, this is a hidden secret. It's a tiny coffee shop that shares a door with the Polyclinic. So, the customers are a good mix of patients and employees and locals off the street. Inside it's clean, and efficient with a few tables. We tried the noodles and an eggnog latte. Both were very good. The noodles were about $15, enough for lunch and dinner or two sharing. We lingered happily for about 20 minutes one late afternoon in the cold of December. The space is bright and airy. Customer service was good. Noise level was also good. Space was very clean too. No bathroom inside, I believe you can use the clinic bathrooms next door. I paid 5 dollars for this mini spicy pork taco with no onions, I get back to work, and it has onions on it, no meat and a lot of cilantro, this place has definitely gone down the price compared to the amount of food that you get and the quality of food that you get get is so out of control on top of that, I had to wait 10 minutes for my mini spicy taco.. You can't even afford it because it's so expensive, and you're still hungry after. If I could give this place only one star, I would. ***UPDATE*** I go down to get my money back because now have to go back to work and don't have time for them remake another taco. The owner tells me there are onions cooked in there spicy pork meat and they can't pick them all out - Lie#1. I have been coming here for 2 years now and have always gotten no onions on my food, lie #2 he says the tacos have always been this size and price, I know the difference from a street taco and a regular taco. Then he says I need you to take down your review I tell him no and he goes well I can write a comment too! I told all my co workers on my floor to stop eating here. It's a cute little coffee and sandwich shop around the corner by the library. I had their cappuccino and it's not bad. Although the price is a big steep for a small coffee shop imo but quality is not bad. Would come back to sit by the window counter and people watch with a coffee in my hand. The entrance is connected to the poly clinic also one on the opposite side. There isn't quite parking spot so recommend walking. There are multiple areas for you to sit down for dine in. This was such a lovely surprise and treat! Located in same building of the Polyclinic at Madison DT (side entrance). I was fasting for my 9:30 appointment and was ready to eat when all was done (slightly before noon). There's tons of yummy places to eat DT, and after this meal, I just added this place to be one of my go to comfort food places. I'm not a coffee person so what caught my eye was the "Bop" - after peaking at the menu, confirmed "Bop" = "rice". I love the Korean Fusion beef rice bowl I got which had an array of yummy ingredients (green leafy salad, mac salad, corn, cucumber salad, jap chae (noodles), purple rice, beef); ingredients and dressing proportions were just right for my taste. Don't expect a lot of rice in this bowl, it is pleasantly full of healthy veggies which pairs nicely with one another with the beef and bop. I paid extra for the fried egg. I was full when bowl was 90% empty but it taste so good I made sure not to leave a crumb uneaten. Thanks for being in the Polyclinic building and thanks for a yummy meal! I took one look at the menu online and knew I had to grab breakfast here. I mean, anyplace that serves SPAM has to be great, right? I had the Hawaiian Sandwich and a chai latte. Both were delicious! The sandwich had all of the right flavors, a little heat from the spicy mayo and the arugula, and sweetness of their special sauce. Oh, and how could I forget the saltiness from the SPAM. Can I say I just had one of the best breakfast sandwiches ever. I just came in to get a bite to eat before an appointment at the Polyclinic. I was going to just get a bagel and cream cheese but I saw a sandwich on the menu I wanted to try. I am so glad I did. I ordered the BOP Tree Special. It comes on brioche toast but I asked if I could get mine on a croissant and the gentleman told me that was not a problem. He also offered grilled onions on the sandwich and I said yes (who doesn't love grilled onions). It was quickly ready and I devoted it. I would highly recommend trying this sandwich. Not only do they have a variety of breakfast sandwiches and coffees, they also have an extensive lunch menu featuring classics like turkey sandwiches, but also Korean bowls like bulgogi and BBQ beef, which is really what drew me in in the first place. They have a cold drink case that includes the Ito En green tea (a favorite of mine), kombucha, and all the regular drinks you'd want to find at an American cafe. There is a pastry case with blueberry scones, chocolate chip cookies, bagels, etc...as well as a great selection of grab and of grab and go items if you are in a hurry like premade basic sandwiches, yogurts, fruit cups, granola, hard boiled eggs, string cheese, and salads. They have a seasonal drink menu and also offer online ordering which was simple and easy to do. You can schedule a pickup time if you need it for a certain time or are limited in your lunch break. The owner is racist and an all-around jerk. He constantly displays poor customer service and behaves as though majority of his money does not come from the Polyclinic (the building that his restaurant is in). I have ordered from this restaurant about 5 times and each time I regret not just going to Starbucks. I am a nurse and all of my nurse coworkers have boycotted this restaurant due to the fact that he does not deserve our money. Perfect example of poor attitude and customer service: when my order was incorrect, he would not offer me a refund or to even remake the order he just instead said that the next time I come in he will give it to me for free and then when the time comes, he acts as though "all black people look alike" and does not remember me from 1 day prior.
